I don't think Lords Of Chaos is a book only for metal fans. Anyone into true crime or psychology topics would find it quite interesting. The layout of some parts is a bit disjointed, but it gives the deepest look anyone will get into some of the main players in the scene, particularly Varg Vikernes and the Mayhem guys.

He's right you know. This isn't even a musical bias, but the Black Metal incidents involving the band Mayhem in the early-mid 90's is BY FAR the most shocking metal thing ever. Fuck all that other shit. No other style of music created such a fanatical(and honestly...retarded) movement of violence. Church burnings, grave desecrations, robbery, murder threats, and murder. Bard Eithun (original drummer for Emperor) killed a gay man in the park because he wanted to know what it would feel like to kill a man. I'm pretty sure that would take the cake on a list right there. Varg Vikernes(Burzum) burned the Fantoft church and used a picture of the building burning as an album cover. Pretty big fuckin deal given the concervative christian climate in Norway. That would rank highly aswell I think. how about Varg Vikernes having Snorre Ruch (Thorns...amazing musician and inventor of the black metal surf style riff) drive him to Oystein Aarseth's(euronymous...leading man of Mayhem) house to murder him by stabbing him in the head and back 23 times. That's a top 5 on a retard monkey's list...should be number one for anyone else. These Tr00 gr1m n3cr0 fuckers like their pictures. Vocalist for Mayhem, "Dead", showing a brilliant sense of irony swallowed a shotgun barrel and blew his brain out of the top of his head after carving up the blood vessels in his arm. Before anyone else got to him, Euronymous found him. He had his camera and took pictures after briefly rearranging teh scene to position things for a good shot I guess. A guy's brain laying in his lap would be the most he'd need I figure, but whatever. One of these pictures ended up as the album cover to a Mayhem album. Then in a showing of respect and love for his fallen bandmate and friend, he collected parts of his brain to be cooked later in a stew, and picked out small pieces of his skull to be made into necklaces for the rest of the band. The above story has been retold and bastardized over the last decade but it's about as close to the truth as anyone not named Oystein Aarseth know...and he's dead to. Bloody compelling either way. worth a number one spot on a worthless list to. I never get tired of telling these stories. As far as the Gorgoroth ranking goes...it's nothing that hasn't been done a million times before in metal. Mayhem did it better and so did Moonspell when they started. It's only because of teh coincidence about the pope's hometown and all that that makes this remotely interesting. The women they 'crucified' were fucking hot though.

Pantera (and to a lesser extent Machine Head) created Nu Metal. Incandenza created Nu Candenza Both offshoots were completely accidental creations that greatly troubled their progenitors. This is all coming together. I think we are fully reaching the root and depths of the problem.

When said song was done, my browser finished loadin the page and then was re-directed to forums.thesmartmarks.com/home which is a page that didn't load. Pretty cool if not annoying as fuck. I'm not pm'ing all the members related to the 40 posts on that page so I say here, who fucked my shit up?

Downloaded it the night this thread came up and I was impressed enough that I'm gonna keep it on the computer. I would probably buy it except I have a serious problem wth buying hip hop when i have so much metal to catch up on buying. That said, it is nowhere near the greatness of the 36 chambers album, but it does hold up beside the solo albums pretty well. The production is full of recollection of the original wu tang days with disjointed beats and odd timing/sounds. Best thing about this album is that he didn't force fuck 30 songs onto an album, he got his shit said in 13 songs(plus skits) and left it at that. Another serious plus is that he didn't fill all his songs with 'gangsta' shit and bragging about being in prison and all that bullshit. I'd recommend it.
