  1. I won't miss it, but if push came to shove,
  2. I was hoping you had a suggestion for making them or something, as my putting a package of them into my deep fryer almost certainly = disaster.
  3. I've watched wrestling 3 times since Wrestlemania: Benoit tribute, draft, and May 31, which I was at. The answer to the topic is: A new WWE Champ (or is it Heavyweight?) I've confirmed to two buddies today that the possibility of Orton is enough to interest me. I can't guarantee I'll watch Raw leading up to it, but I'm definitely interested.
  4. I loved Hamilton too, I was actually at a practise round there last year. Got a picture with Aaron Baddely, and a tricked picture with Jim Furyk. It was a great course.
  5. Tell me more of Deep Fried Twinkies. I have to fucking try these now.
  6. Since the majority of my posts the last few weeks have been about Mike Weir, I'll keep that train going: He'll be looking for his third straight top 10 finish at Angus Glen. He's missed the cut the last two years, however, at Shaughnessy in 2005 and Hamilton in 2006. The last time they were at Angus Glen was 2002, when Mike finished T-22.
  7. How much does Gerber make? "Too much" is an acceptable answer, but it's doesn't make sense that it's not Emery. 3.17 mil a year is a great deal for the Sens, I too thought he'd pull in a little higher, maybe 3.75 or 4.
  8. AHL sounds about right. Let's say, with surrounding and nearby cities, oh, 600,000 fans could realistically attend. That's still fairly small to support an NHL team. Enthusiasm and/or loyalty would certainly not be an issue, anyone remember the 2005 Juniors? EDIT: Evidently, I don't, as they were in North Dakota. What year'd Halifax have em? 2003?
  9. Damn, overlooked that while browsing for the answer to Invader's question at Graham's site. On a similar vein, how long were The New Blackjacks together? I had no idea they were still around in early '98. It was actually in Kamala's results a few posts up: January 19,1998, the night of Austin ruining Vince's Tyson announcement. I wouldn't have been able to tell you that had he not posted those, I just remember them being broken up by Wrestlemania 14.
  10. I worked nights last night and didn't see any of Raw - Can I get a rundown? In particular: - One of the Hardy's botched a spot, but made up for it later on by beating the shit out of Umaga with a chair? - JR got really sombre about something? - How is Orton the #1 Contender? - Jerome? - What's the story on HHH? - Nothing for Lashley? - Kennedy loses again?
  11. Assuming it is a date-like atmosphere, fondue might not be a bad idea, though it's a fair amount to prepare. Salad of any kind, as eluded to, is a great pick, especially potato salad. Try a small platter of carrots, green peppers, and dip. Champagne is pretty safe. If it's not a date, I got a flyer from the Beer Store a few months ago that suggested "Ribs and beer - you've got yourself a picnic".
  12. While I don't like Shawn Michaels in the ring or out, I have tremendous respect for his ability. I got kind of a bad vibe reading Ric Flair's book, but still mark out when 2001 hits.
  13. My dad and I were discussing last week how much less milk I drink now as opposed to when I was at home. Ditto for cereal. I had always envisioned having a kitchen like Seinfeld's with a half-dozen boxes on the go. However, I don't think I've ever not drank the milk afterwards. I even had a bowl as an eight-year-old that had a straw built in the side for such a purpose.
  14. Whom are you trying to impress? And with KingKamala's suggestion, it seems to me this is going to pop up like it were 'Armbar' in Chris Jericho's list:"Show me potato salad!"
  15. What the fuck are Team Cheerios?
  16. Honestly, I couldn't tell ya which models are region-free. I'd say read a few reviews and learn the specs, and stick to a brand you trust. You and I might have much different opinions on Brand X and Brand Y, but that doesn't necessarily make either of them good, bad, or better than one another. Interestingly, the only model of DVD player that my Wal*Mart carries that's region-free is the crappiest one, the 29 dollar one, and it's not upconverting.
  17. The only thing I can contribute to this thread is this bit about the Hubble from This Hour Has 22 Minutes
  18. If there's a state or province in North America that deserves 3 teams, it's Ontario. Not California. I'm not trying to preach to the choir, but the NHL has already tried out a failed market once, and it's not doing so hot. (I don't really count Minnesota, which pretty well folded because two guys had an argument). With the Canadian dollar so strong, doesn't it make sense to retry a city that would support a team, one that didn't fold due to poor attendance?
  19. Yeah, barring an incredible meltdown, this is Sergio's tournament. If he falters (and I mean falters) there's a very very competent group at -3, but this is unquestionably Sergio's tournament to win.
  20. There's too much to quote, DX1997, but it dawned on me at work today that I didn't even factor in the incoming Brian Pillman.
  21. Seems inevitable we'd get at least one of these stories:
  22. And, unless Gary Player wants to make another statement for a reason only he can understand, a top 5 absolutely earns a captain's pick in September as far as I'm concerned.
  23. Just in 2004, when he lost to Todd "Alright!" Hamilton, who, incidentally, pumped my gas this afternoon. I'm really interested to see how well Garcia holds up. His major record is pretty solid, a handful of top 5's, and that's not necessarily indicative of an inability to close things. He should have charged a little more last year, and maybe at the 2002 Masters, but he's shown some knack at the 99 PGA, and at the 04 Masters.
  24. I'd say Bret comes back earlier if Shawn leaves town mid-96. If Faarooq doesn't hurt Ahmed (or even moreso, Ahmed stays healthy), he almost certainly gets a program for the title, probably against Vader. Bret Austin is likely pushed ahead a bit, say....Mind Games instead of SurSer, maybe even Summerslam. Let's say this: Let's say Shawn leaves at the end of May. The already scheduled Ahmed-Goldust match for KotR becomes a title match, due to some Beat the Clock challeneges and injuries on Raws leading up to KoTR. Ahmed wins, Pearl River Plunge, 1-2-3, new champ. Goldust retains his IC Title, however. Bret defeats Austin at KotR in his return match. Bret takes Shawn's place in the tag match at International Incident against Camp Cornette, with Austin as special ref. Summerslam features Vader defend successfully against Ahmed, maybe with a little cheating from Camp Cornette. Bret and Undertaker defeat Mankind and Austin as well at the same show. Faarooq also gets a win on the show over a now-pissing-Vince-off Ultimate Warrior. The following night on Raw, Faarooq plays the race card to Ahmed, planting the seeds for a #1 contenders match at IYH: It's Time at the end of September. We'll also see Bret vs Bulldog, Taker vs Austin at IT (just because). Vader's opponent isn't to be named for another two weeks. Mankind's vignettes begin playing the night following Summerslam, and he mentions the loss of his ear from Vader. He turns into a face/tweener, and defeats the Warrior the following week, earning a title shot at IT. At It's Time, Bret and Austin both win, along with Vader and Ahmed. Vader and Ahmed is set for In Your House: Redemption in October. Bret and Mankind face Owen and the Bulldog, and Taker and Faarooq round out the upper midcard at that show. Bret and Mankind get the win, along with the Taker. A rapidly-gaining steam Austin defeats the Warrior in what becomes his last match in the WWF. After Vader wins cleanly over Ahmed, he's beaten down by Faarooq and Vader, but is saved by a returning Sid. Bret and Austin fight to a double DQ on Raw the next night. You know what? Fuck it. I can't do it, at least not this late at night. I hate HBK, but it's tough to imagine how badly things might have been otherwise. We miss out on an excellent Bret-Austin from SS96, a fantastic HBK-Mankind at IYH, and the revolutionary Austin-Bret at WM13. As much as Vader should have had a run, and as much as I would have loved Bret getting the title back at WM13, everything else was much better.
