  1. Not even the current writing team are that stupid.
  2. Well, that's what you get when Jeff fucking Jarrett is Jeff fucking Dixie. Allegedly.
  3. If by better you mean more boring, bland and ordinary, then you'd be right. A bigger name, but with a bigger stigma, and more drawbacks. Yeah, at pushing himself above all others and burying people who threaten his spot.
  4. He turns off fans, and he has a worse stigma attached to him than Raven does. Yeah, it makes sense for him to be champion over Raven(!)
  5. Jarrett actively turns off fans when he's the champion. The live fans hate him, and not in the right way, and the majority of TNA's fans, who are internet fans right now, hate Jarrett, also not in the good way. When the casual fan last saw Jarrett he was one of the guys on top of a promotion that the people saw die in front of their eyes. That is not someone to have as your champion when you're making your first foray into the national spotlight. While Raven didn't get a top level push in WCW or WWE, at least he doesn't have the stigma of being the guy on top of a national promotion as it faded away and died.
  6. Maybe Masters will tear one of his 'roided up quads. We can dare to dream.
  7. When the biggest Jarrett mark in the universe think it comes across like she's fucking Jarrett, it should be clear to anyone that it is more than just Dixie talking him up because he's champion.
  8. Maybe it has to do with the fact that she sounded like she was talking about her high school boyfriend when she was talking about Jarrett. It sounded like she was ready to announce that Jeff had agreed to go steady with her.
  9. Not after being squashed in his first two matches. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Waltman got squashed for like 2 months before he beat Razor and he was over. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not the kind of over that meant something. Kid was 'over' as an opening act underdog who the crowd thought it was cute to cheer for. He wasn't over when it came to actually being someone they took seriously. That didn't happen for years into his stay.
  10. And with each PPV DQ finish you slowly but surely educate people that PPV main events can end in DQ's. If people think that they'll get a screwjob finish in a PPV main event, they'll be less likely to pay to see it. That's far too complicated a concept for some people to grasp.
  11. The Torch website is saying Waltman has shown up at the house of a family member.
  12. The people who paid $34.95 for it would want to see a clean finish. People DO NOT PAY for screwjob finishes. If I'm paying $34.95 for a PPV, I don't want it ending with a screwjob. You CAN get around the 'need' for a DQ finish in a PPV main event with smart booking. They could have used a similar finish to the one you yourself suggested for Masters/Shawn. Cena pulls out a surprise cradle on Angle off of the anklelock, so he gets the pin, but it's in a manner that protects Angle because it caught him off-guard. He can then attack Cena after the bell to keep his heat and set up the rematch.
  13. Unless he's a diva, he's not going to make that investment back. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not when they fire him he won't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But if you're (not you specifically) going to complain about Puder not being given a chance, yet you complain about green-as-grass guys jumping to the big leagues too early, where is this balance? Worked shoots are the only thing you can reasonably do with him, but who's willing to pay to see that? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The balance is in giving each guy a chance by playing to their strengths. They didn't even bother trying with Puder, and, as limited as he is, he can talk better than Masters, has more personality than Masters, and he got a reaction just by being himself. Masters hasn't got a reaction even with a six-month superpush. Would Puder get over by playing to his strengths even though he's very limited? Maybe, maybe not, but given the trouble they went through with TE they should have at least made some effort to work around his weaknesses. Masters is a bust. I'm all for them trying to push new talent. They could make better choices with the talent they try with, but at least they are trying. The trouble comes when the guy they're getting behind is obviously not working, and they don't care because he's got the look they are obsessed with, and they keep pushing and pushing and pushing the guy. After tonight, it looks like, at the moment, that they've realised Masters isn't over to anywhere the degree they want him to be and are pulling back on his push. I'd rather they would have given that level of push to Puder because as limited as he is he's still got more talent, not necessarily in the wrestling sense, than Masters. And, if he still wasn't over by now, I'd still be saying they should stop, because if a guy isn't getting over after over six months of the superpush they've given Masters, then he probably isn't going to get over at all ever. Puder wouldn't necessarily have to be restricted to worked shoots. His matches would have to be kept short, but you'd keep him in with workers like Benjamin, Angle, Regal, etc, whose worked style is a realistic looking style, but not a worked shoot style.
  14. WCW almost never bothered to explain things or answer questions that their matches and angles would bring up. They just did whatever they wanted, didn't think it was important to explain things, and expected their audience to just sit back and accept it. Makes you wonder how they could have possibly gone out of business(!) And even though Steiner wasn't being beaten clean and it was a total screwjob, he was still upset over losing.
  15. Unless he's a diva, he's not going to make that investment back. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not when they fire him he won't.
  16. And they took the easy way out. Great way to make those people who paid for this feel like they got value for money when you give a screwjob finish in the main evnet.
  17. And for once, I don't care. Because except for his theme, I hate Masters. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't like Masters either; he isn't over a lick despite what some people think. But Shawn should still be selling the damage done during the match. True, but the finish meant Orton gained nothing from it.
  18. Same no-selling from Shawn during the comeback as usual. Shawn didn't even sell the back or neck work after the match. Just paraded around like nothing had happened. I'm not that surprised Shawn won clean, but I am surprised that Masters didn't at least attack Shawn after the bell or something.
  19. Who were they facing? And that Lethal top rope dragon suplex must have hurt like a bitch.
  20. I'm not entirely sure, but major happenings on ROH shows are usually treated as spoilers, so I'm just treating this like other ROH major happenings are treated.
  21. What happened between Warrior and Andre is that on their house show run, Warrior would hit the ring at a million miles an hour, and hit Andre with a stiff clothesline. Andre didn't like that, because he wanted to be able to take an easy bump into the ropes so he could tie himself up. Andre told Warrior to take it easy. The next night, Warrior did his thing again, and again hit Andre with a stiff clothesline. The night after that, Warrior hits the ring, charges towards Andre for the clothesline spot, and Andre just holds his fist straight out and Warrior crashes face first into it, getting knocked silly. Finally, the night after that, Warrior hits the ring and hits Andre with much less stiff clothesline, and Andre takes his easy bump. Andre then turns to Heenan, and says, "He's learning".
  22. Then TNA have already achieved their goal of becoming WWE. And people had hope for this promotion too.
  23. If it is bias, then TNA truly are screwed.
  24. If Dixie hasn't worked out by now that Jeff is getting "get the fuck off my tv" heat, then she isn't listening to the right people, or the right people don't have the balls to come out and tell her point blank that Jeff Jarrett is the death of TNA when it comes to becoming a real player in wrestling. There are people in TNA, almost everyone involved actually, who know the score with Jeff and how much of an anchor he is.
