The Lyoto/Sokoudjou and Sanchez/Palelei fights aside, this was an easy thumbs up. Guillard/Clementi was fun, but the non-fight stuff was better. Liddell/Silva was balls out stuff, though it did take most of the first round for them to get going. And what more can be said about GSP's total domination of Matt Hughes for the second straight fight? This was a really good PPV to end the year on for the UFC.

In what universe could JBL, Jericho, Punk, Rey or Matt Hardy conceivably win the upcoming Rumble? Sure, the winner could lose his title shot, but that doesn't mean logic and common sense need be thrown out the window. Why couldn't any of them win this Rumble? JBL is probably working with Jericho at WM or going into WM, and that's a strong midcard program, that doesn't need to drag down the World title picture. Punk is ECW, so enough said. Rey had his sympathy run, and is probably sticking with MVP for a while. And Matt Hardy? Only one Hardy has a chance of ever winning the Rumble, and that Hardy has a singles match that night. See that's why it doesn't make logic or common sense to you on why those people can't win the rumble match, because your looking at it as a smart fan. Don't look at it that way, look at it as a general fan. The Royal Rumble match is normally set up as a match anyone can possibly win. So as a general fan, your suppose to see it as anyone has a chance to win the Rumble. Hell if Mysterio can win it, why not Matt Hardy? But instead, your looking at it as a internet smart fan and since HHH is most likely going to be in it, odds are your 95% sure he'll win it. The question was asked from the perspective of a smart fan, and so was the answer, which is why it made no sense. You're also wrong about your assumption on what odds I think HHH has of winning the Rumble. That's alright, I'll say your wrong about the Rey/MVP program going to Wrestlemania. I'll bet you that we'll get a Matt Hardy/MVP feud starting back from where they left off. I don't think Rey/MVP is going to Wrestlemania. It'll keep going long enough to fill time until Matt Hardy comes back. -

Heh. Apparently, it wasn't really Rena Mero/Lesnar who made the original posts, so Sunny looks even more foolish. -
You do post everything negative about TNA and ignore postive things (albeit they are to and far between) and thats fine. Actually, I don't ignore the positive things. I've always praised the generally strong in-ring efforts, and whenever the booking mistakes get really crazy, I make a point to bring up the ring work as something positive that unfortunately has to try and overcome that booking. You don't like TNA and hate Russo, thats your progative. I don't dislike TNA as much as I find it frustrating. I want to like TNA as a whole, and while there are some things to like about TNA, the promotion as a whole is just maddeningly frustrating. As for hating Russo, wrong again. It's not worth hating anyone so utterly clueless and inept. But I don't post everything bad about the company and chortle at the news even if it isn't that funny/bad. I just post the news as it comes out. Don't blame me if it's either news that's bad or news that makes you shake your head at the people running the company. And I'm not a big fan of newsletters smarky comments about any fed really. I just think some of them are unjust and really unfunny. I understand it's an easy out, but don't shoot the messenger. I think everyone wants TNA to succeed, but when they continuously make one blunder after the other, especially when so many in TNA were part of WCW when that company was making those same mistakes, it's hard for all but the die-hard of die-hard TNA fans not to throw their hands up in the air. A few segments aside, I agree. The Awesome Kong-Gail Kim storyline has managed to stand out and be something that people can really get into.

Oldskool, have you got the latest WMMA patch that was released today? I tried TEW '07 using the default data. I played as the SWF, which is the Cornellverse WWE, and I've booked three shows so far; two TV's and a PPV. It was fun. My first TV main event was a six-man tag, with a Main Eventer, an Upper Midcarder and a Midcarder on each team. I was the babyface midcarder, and did the clean job to the heel World champion. The main event of the PPV was a four-way match with two heels and two babyface for the World title, so the main event of the second TV show, and last one before the PPV, saw the two heels team up to take on the two babyfaces. The babyfaces won by DQ but were laid out by the heels, and then the heel champion turned on his partner and was the only man standing when the show ended.

Gorilla was fine up until around 1990, but then he went downhill really badly. I don't think people hated Gorilla because of who he worked for; if that was the case, then people would have hated Jesse Ventura, and he got heavy praise for his heel commentator role. What I hated about Gorilla was when a babyface was in a submission hold, he'd either talk about how he's never seen someone give up in that hold or how the babyface was never going to submit, which turned it from a potentially match winning hold to a rest hold that people shouldn't get worried about. It killed the drama of the match. -
You've got to laugh when people get overly defensive.

I think the only reason Cornette stays with TNA is it gives him a reason to get out of the house and have something to do.
-
I see none of that occurring, with the possible exception of VKM leaving, which will probably happen as soon as they're contractually able to. I think TNA in 2008 will be the TNA of 2007, with a hardworking crew of wrestlers and an incompetent creative team. The ratings will stay the same, with minor fluctuations up and down that people will get far too exited over, and PPV buys will slide a little, as the nonsensical booking will detract from the quality of the matches. They'll hire every WWE castoff with any kind of name value, and no matter who they get, they'll be just another midcard geek in less than a month. I'll be stunned if, in 12 months time, TNA have made any progress whatsoever, in either direction.

The main positive about Hayes being the color guy would be that he'd know where things are meant to go, and so he'd be able to take the audience in the direction he wants them going. -

I'm just going to laugh like a madman at the idea of Shawn Michaels of going to TNA. Hunter gets his belt back at WM, and will probably do a slow heel turn so he can do one more feud with Shawn, which will end with Hunter winning the final match of the feud, but Shawn laying Hunter out anyway with SCM. I don't think Cena gets the belt back till WM in 2009, where he'll beat Hunter for it. Where is Batista in all this? Either six-feet under or on the sidelines with yet another muscle tear.

Check back a few pages. They revealed they were talking with 'The Beast', which meant either Bob Sapp or Dan Severn. And with Severn not being a big international name, it's pretty clear they meant Sapp. As for whether they get somewhere, it's doubtful with K1 being involved. -
