San Antonio slowing down the game on them is a myth. In their play offs series both team averaged over 105 per game. Season series is much of the same. San Antonio has the ability to play at a high pace and a slow pace. And San Antonio STILL would have lost that series had Joe Johnson not broken his face against Dallas. Speaking of San ANtonio http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2751379 One of the greatest on the ball defenders I have ever seen and one of my favorites growing up. Goddamn he is a fuck up though.

TV deaths that pissed you off or upset you

Yes. They beat the thosands demons that were there to kill them. They died. That was the point of Angels entire speech in the ep before. They were going to strike their blow make Wolf Ram and Hart feel it, and go out swinging. I guess some people were left wondering. The people that wanted to ignore the 3-4 times Angel said they were all going to die in the episode and believe that they actually beat all those guys, but all of them were pretty beat up in a ally against thosands and thosands of demons. One of which was 80 feet tall. And a dragon. Against 4 beat up people....one of them bleeding to death. They died. I accepted it. Its time everyone else that watched the show did too. -
I don't get how you can disagree. Whats middle of the road about it? They force alot of turnovers, they keep the opponents field goal percentage down, they don't allow alot of points in the paint for a team that is so mall in the interior. I don't see whats wrong with their D. If you say points against, that is a product of them taking most of their shots within 10 seconds of the shot clock. Most teams get twice as many chances to score.

1. Which team looks like the best bet to win the East? Heh...thats funny. I will just say Detroit just because. No team in the East is any bet to win anything. That is parity people. No team looks better than the others honestly. 2. Which team looks like the best bet to win the West? My fandom says the suns. The realist in me says the suns. So...um...the Suns. 3. Which team looks like the best bet to win the NBA title? Suns... and after watching this team for more than 20 years now I can honestly think that I have a chance of seeing it happen. 4. Which dark horse has a legitimate shot at surprising us and winning it all? Lakers. Yeah, laugh some people, but I legitamately think they could sneak their way into the West finals and take this freakin thing. 5. Who's been the best rookie this season? Brandon Roy in limited action. But this is going to be a good rookie class. Morrison is starting to learn to get his shot off in the NBA, Baragni(whatever) is showing why he was the number one pick, and guys like Gay and Foye are just consistant minutes and experience away from being really good. 6. Who's the MVP so far? Um...Nash I guess with Dirk at a close second and Kobe/Gilbert right behind them. This is a very close race though. If the suns win another 15+ straight, i am going with Steve. 7. Fact or fiction -- the Phoenix Suns are the greatest offense you've ever seen. HAHAAHAHA. Hells no. That is ridiculous. 8. Fact or fiction -- the Toronto Raptors will hold on to their lead and win the Atlantic. No. New Jersey will come around eventually. 9. Which will happen first -- the Knicks will win 50 games in a season, the Celtics will win 50 games in a season or the Lakers will win an NBA title? Um...the Knicks winning 50. Because I can see that happening within the next two years. The Lakers will have a chance in the next few years to contend also, so one of those two things will happen(sorry Boston fans). 10. As we sit at the midpoint of the regular season, which story line or situation interests you most? Honestly wanting the see if the Hawks can make a push and make my prediction correct. I think the injury plauged NOvember killed them but when healthy they are a .500 team.

Not too far out of left field. They waived Alvin fucking Williams to make room for him. Why don't they just sign penny to teach Livingston a thing or two about being a big point?
-
Marvin Williams and Sheldon Williams got screwed. For anyone that says the SUns can't play defense, please watch a golden state warriors game. I swear to god, me and 4 of you guys could put up 120 on them. This is the worst defense I have EVER seen in the history of NBA basketball. I say that with all seriousness and no exageration. Its absolutely pathetic. And the most pathetic thing is Nellie looks like he has no problem with it.

TV deaths that pissed you off or upset you

Yeah it was. But for some reason they had him stick around for no reason but to die stupidly later. -
I saw it back in 02 I think. I remember it being a kick ass movie.

Thats not true. They made a big profit so they used those numbers to make their consumer electronics division look even more profitable, but now it is having a reverse effect because it cost more to make the PS3 and they are selling like the PS2. The rest of consumer electronics is doing fine. Although if they did fold that would give me more job security so keep on sucking PS3.

TV deaths that pissed you off or upset you

Some upset me but I can't say any pissed me off because they were all pretty much handled well. Fred dying in "Hole in the World" in the last season of Angel got me. As did Wesleys in the series finale...two of the best scenes of acting I have ever seen in television. EVER. I guess the fact that all of them died in the last show was shocking, but didn't upset me that much because of how kick ass it was. Oh, Cordillas character dying. Not so much at the time, but when I rewatched the whole angel series and saw how important she was again, it just plain sucked. For some reason Ryan Chapplles death on 24 got me more than anyones. Something about how he had been hardass the entire time, and when he told jack to wait RIGHT as the tear fell from his eye....got me right then. Then him begging to be able to do it himself and not being able to. Man....that was some TV. -
I wouldn't go that far. The main reason most of these guys aren't in the league is A: Lack of midrange game and B: They are too small. Most of them played very well in college, and put up great numbers, and some are doing great on some of the smaller basketball leagues (think IBL and shit like that) but a 5-8 two guard with no jumper isn't going to make it in the league. Niether is a 6-7 center with no real handles. They can play real ball though. But they are there to put on a show. They are a modern day Harlem Globetrotters.
-
Because if the And 1 guys won(which they wouldn't) it would not be a good look for the league.
-
You know, Kapono is a shooter, but when exactly will people stop leaving him? Exactly how many WIDE open 3s does the guy get. When do opposing coaches say "Hey, don't leave this guy?"
-
Why would Tyrus Thomas be a deal breaker? What is Jerry West doing, trying to pull a billy Knight? Because Rudy gay and Hakim Warrick don't resemble Tyrus's game AT ALL(except for the being better at it part)?
-
Yeah. Whats bad about. I mean I guess you could ignore Juelz Santana(I did somewhere around about that Voltron line) but its a bunch of great players playing basketball with a pretty hot beat going. Whats not to like?
-
No one mentioned Eternal Darkness? It was pretty goddamn kickass when it came to storyline, the dialouge the voice acting. Everything about that story just worked.
-
That commercial kicks ass.

What was wrong with Wills performance. I personally though his performance in ALI looked like a bad impression and none of the lines were believably performed, but I would say that although Pursuit annoyed me to no end it was a great performance.

It looks like Eddie will get one and Jennifer Hudson will get one so I am cool. Dreamgirls, like I said in the thread, shouldn't be up for best picture because it wasn't one of the best movies this year. Tehy adapted a 3 hour stage play into a 2 hour movie and it showed with the lack of character development and pacing.
-
I like D'Antoni and his system has definately turned the Suns into winners, but I find it hard calling him one of the best coaches in the league when he does not know how to use the bench. Every year people claim the Suns bench is weak, every year it gets stronger and the same thing happens. COMPLETELY agreed. He has no idea how to utilize his bench. He is stuck on having this 8 man rotation when he has the talent and the man power to have a 9-10 man rotation and not kill his guys in the regular season. He is still one of the best coaches in the league because others Like Phil Jackson, are guys that don't utilize their bench to it highest potential but does put the right guys out there to win.

I find it hard to go back to watching standard definition after watching HD. I'm not thinking "this is only 480 instead of 1080," but I'm thinking "man, this looks out of focus." My brain recognizes the difference right away. Add to the fact that digital cable makes SD things generally look crappy on a big HDTV, and I know what you mean. Good christ that was stupid. ANALOG is generally what you will have issues with, and no matter the source for your SD, if you have artifacts it will only be magnified the bigger the set goes. I swear, it's like retards are all up in this bitch. You know full fucking well that HD tuners have a problem decoding SD signals, when it is from the built in tuners or the ones that the cable company gives you. Bottom line if you get a HD TV, you might as well be prepared to get a shitter SD picture. The tuner has nothing to do with it. The fact of the problem is that your cable/satellite box is getting a 480i (SD) signal and it gets upconverted to whatever resolution it outputs to. Not only is that a big problem, but some of you may have not yet discovered that you need to set your box to output to the native resolution of your TV in order to get the best possible picture. If you dont, the picture has to go through another conversion (up or down depending on all the settings) and it will wreck the picture even more. A couple more tips for good SD picture: 1) Dont stretch the damn picture (obvious) 2) Use HDMI/DVI instead of Component to avoid conversion of the signal from digital to analog and thus introducing more degradation in the picture quality 3) Dont have satellite, specifically Directv, because the picture is compressed to hell to start with and it will just look worse. The best possible picture will still be inferiour because of the HD tuners are made for outputing the higher resoloution. Yes doing what you said will get you a better picture, but it will still not compare to a regular SD television because when you have these single tuner devices (the box or your TV) the tuner puts the HD stuff at a higher priority. Thats why tvs with a dedicated tuner to HD and a dedicated one to SD can get that great picture quality. But for cost reason most tv makers have said fuck that. Especially since shitty SD resolution hasn't stopped people from buying a shit load of HDTV's anyway.

I would count toy story towards Allen and Hanks, seeing as they made the freakin movie. Taylor Thomas was in less than half of LIon King and Goldberg was a bit character. Eddie Murphy was a marquee guy in Shrek, and his character is arguable the most popular one and was the comedy of the film. I don't see how you can prepare the roles of young simba or Hiena 3 to the role of Donkey in Shrek.
-
As well it should be seeing as it is one of the most kick ass movies of all time. I also would like to say its not fair not to count Shrek or Mulan(even though Mulan was a failure). Eddie Murphy was as much of the reason why Shrek was so popular as anyone else. As a matter of fact, Myers was the straight man in those movies. Eddie was a driving force to the success of both those movies.
