  1. Yes it is. And if he was telling the truth, he sounds like a goober and like he's full of shit.
  2. That looks like an old pic that Porter posted. From that pic, he sort of looks gay, but I see potential. Judging from that and how his hair is now, I see potential for a good psycho character and I'd love to see his facial expressions when he is selling.
  3. I hope to God they don't start the hype for ONS II with Michael Cole saying something like he did last year... Cole: I remember watching ECW back in the day.... WTF? No you didn't. From there on in, I decided I can never like or respect Michael Cole ever again. It sounded like the fakest thing he ever said in his entire career.
  4. What exactly is the deal though? Is it he has the most unexpressive face ever? If he's ugly, that would just help put him over more as a monster wouldn't it? I dont' know, I haven't seen his face. Just wondering why should he keep it on is all.
  5. You still putting on that May 6th show or is this new job going to interfere with that?
  6. That's actually not bad. I wonder what percentage of the Thurs. ratings were holdovers of TUF and also if the .6 Saturday viewership were all first time viewers of the show who were creatures of habit and watched saturday instead of the first run thursday?
  7. Perhaps he should just lose the mask. As intense as he is, I'm assuming his facial expressions are going to follow suit. Perhaps do something with his hair and wa-la: new look.
  8. Judging from Meltz's cryptic comments and what people have posted elsewhere, I think Randy either A) Harassed either another Diva or perhaps a female outside the company but did it in public, or B) He used drugs openly in front of people in the company While I can't totally dismiss B, I am more inclined to think it was something like A.
  9. You forgot Penn Jillette's kid's name: Moxie Crimefighter. I love Penn and Teller's act and love their Showtime show, but that is fucking ridiculous to the tenth degree.
  10. I saw that 1998 documentary where they showed the lady fry her placenta. Whatever floats your boat I guess. If Tom is talking about eating it right after the baby pops out (which from the sounds of the article is about right), well, he's a braver man than I.
  11. I'll bank that DVD is filled with tons of showing ass and entertaining type of moments and promos. Just don't bet on it to be very historically accurate in any way shape or form.
  12. I agree, you just have to hope Batista's health will hold up since he is injury prone and at the age of 40, that is a legit concern. If Lashley is the plan, they need to start making him a star right now.
  13. Now if they could just get Lashley to work a good match one on one, that might work out.
  14. The NBA draft this year is not deep at all. I think you can get a quality guy in the late rounds that is just as good if not better than the projected lottery guys. Next year has potential to produce some studs with possibly Joaquim Noah (unless he declares this year), Greg Oden, and Josh McRoberts leading the way as 3 guys who could be number 1's this year.
  15. Correct, Jeff still has part ownership, but Jerry is completely out in terms of any ownership.
  16. Yes, Jerry Jarrett has nothing to do with TNA now.
  17. While I wholeheartedly agree that TNA needs to fix it's TV first, you can't deny or overlook the economic factors here. Wrestling fans just don't make that much money. It's the primary reason why advertisers shy away from wrestling. Some of it is the sexed up violence and morality issues, but the big one is that a majority of wrestling fans are lower income households.
  18. That is my top 3 right now. I've heard that there is a Euro or two that are top 10 picks, but I haven't seen any of them, so I won't place them. While I love Aldridge's size, Thomas has more potential IMO and right now I am comfortable saying he'd be my #1. My top 3 changes if Joaquim Noah declares because then he'd be my #1. Morrison would then drop to 4-5.
  19. Looks like LSU's Tyrus Thomas and UConn's Rudy Gay are declaring for the NBA Draft. Thomas should be fine in the NBA, but I am not sold yet on Rudy Gay. He has physical talent up the wazoo, but he doesn't take over games like he could/should. If he patterns his game after Shawn Marion, he can make a good living as a wing player with an excellent jumper. Tyrus Thomas is a top 5 pick, and I would rank him top 3. I'd take him over Morrison if I were in the top 3 picks easy. I feel once he starts learning the pro game, with his physical gifts, he'll be a great PF.
  20. Big Love is a very good show. I think it's great where it is since the Sopranos can be quite intense. I'll keep watching this show because while it's not the best drama or comedy, it has good characters and is just good TV in general.
  21. While a lot of people say Dallas has improved defensively, I don't really see it. I've seen them collapse and while they do well in the regular season, I don't think they're a good adjustment team, which is crucial when facing the same team 4-7 times in a series. I will say if SA falls early, Dallas does become the favorite in the West because they are deep and killers on offense with the exception of a serious post threat. Dirk is too much in love with the perimeter and no one else has a good back to the basket game on the Mavs.
  22. NBA playoffs are this saturday, baby. Can't wait. My favorite time of the year. The East is pretty much a two team race while the West is one power team and about 7 other teams at the same level. (at least IMO) East matchups (as of 4/17) 1) Detroit 8) Chicago 4) Cleveland 5) Washington 2) Miami 7) Milwaukee 3) New Jersey 6) Indiana While the Bulls have shown a ton of heart in April to clinch (including yesterday's national TV beatdown of the Heat in Miami), I don't see them taking Motown out in a series. Washington has playoff experience and I think they'll take out LBJ and the Cavs in 6. The NJ/Indy series may be a trap series and that will come down to Indy establishing J O'Neal vs NJ dictating tempo. Milwaukee is just in Miami's way of the ECF showdown with Detroit. West matchups (as of 4/17) 1) San Antonio 8) Sacramento 4) Dallas 5) Memphis 2) Phoenix 7) LA Lakers 3) Denver 6) LA Clippers (who will host) There is a controversy now because the Grizzlies and Clippers are 5 and 6, but whoever matches up with Denver gets to host the first round series because Denver will not post a better overall record than the Grizz or Clips. There is speculation that both teams are going to try to tank their game, which coincidentally is against each other. Some people are saying that the Clips have already been tanking because the last Clips loss saw 11th and 12th guys on the bench getting significant minutes. Conspiracy shit IMO. Lots of juicy stuff here. The Spurs are headed for the most dangerous 8th seed in memory. If the Lakers were there, they'd be the same thing. No breaks for any series in the west. While I still believe the Spurs will win, the Kings are a very good halfcourt team and have a lot of bodies to throw at Duncan. I wonder how long into the series before we see Artest on Duncan? Still, the Kings would have to win in 6 because game 7 in SA is not what the Kings want. The Lakers will have to run that triangle down to a tee and control tempo aka slow the game down in order to reign in the Suns. If it becomes a halfcourt game, the Lakers have two post threats in Kwame and Odom and Kobe is a threat anywhere on the floor. If they get into a shootout for the series, it won't last past 5 games and the Suns will win it. Denver and the Clips will be a 6-7 game war, although with Maggette out indef, I give a slight edge to the Nuggets to finally get out of the first round in the Melo era. Grizz vs Mavs should be fun as well. I give the slight edge to the Mavs because I don't like that hardly anyone on the Grizz can matchup with Jason Terry (Chucky who?) and the Mavs bench outclasses the Grizz. Dirk vs Pau is going to be fun though. Lets keep this thread until the Finals.
  23. It can be a good match, but it depends more on Steiner than Styles. Styles is good, but he's not at that technician level to where he can take his game down a notch to cater to his opponent, yet not lose a lot in match quality. Styles can make himself look great and can keep up with a good/great worker, but he's not at "good match with a broomstick" level yet and that is what working with Steiner will be like. If Steiner is game and can rein Styles in a bit, it can be good. Chances of that are not good though.
  24. Actually, they held some TUF audience, but not all but.2 See, the average rating for TNA is a loyal .8 on rare occasions it dips to 7 or up to 9. Figure that part of the 1.1 is the .8 that watches no matter what. What you end up with is .3, maybe .4 of TUF people who stick around to watch or just don't bother to turn the channel. Even still, there is a problem. If it's UFC fans that are sticking around checking TNA out, are they being convinced to buy PPV's? They are probrably buying UFC PPV's. TNA is getting an average of about 30,000 buys since coming to Spike. Their audience is about 1,000,000 viewers. How do you convince UFC fans to part with their UFC PPV money in favor of a TNA PPV? Even though you've got more eyeballs watching your product, a certain number of the people attatched to those eyeballs money goes to UFC. It is extremely rare that fans have enough disposable income to watch both. This is why I think TNA needs to scale back the number of PPV's it does. The market is saturated with PPV right now.
