Just an FYI, Joe and Liger were supposed to go 20 minutes, but were given the "go home" signal 7 minutes in. Word was that was when the committee agreed to do the gauntlet match and needed to cut time from Liger/Joe. That was dumb to me. They flew Liger in and ended up getting 7 minutes out of him. They should have let Joe/Liger fly and cut the stupid Diamonds in the Rough 6 man tag.

Come up with real songs for TNA wrestlers to use
Dangerous A replied to Masked Man of Mystery's topic in TNA Wrestling
I totally agree abot AJ and Abyss's themes. I often get them stuck in my head in a good way. You are the only person I know of who actually like's Jeff's theme music. I hate it. It doesn't even have to do with Jeff himself. Benoit could have that theme and I'd still hate it. -
I've heard Christian and Jericho aren't as close as people think. Not saying they're enemies or anything, just that a lot of people assume they are best buds when they kind of just like and respect each other. Jericho may also be doing this to kind of keep Vince on his toes if he ever considers coming back to wrestling as sort of a negotiating tactic through speculation. Kind of like letting Vince think about what the possibilities are that he'd go to TNA. If and when negotiations come up, Jericho could then position himself to get a decent deal.
-
Of course, they would love to have both men in, but for the sake of argument, if you were GM of TNA and were given one contract and told you could sign either Chris Jericho or Chris Benoit to a deal, who would you choose? Jericho obviously has better promo ability. Benoit brings the ability to have a great match with just about anyone, although Jericho isn't far behind in that regard. Jericho's personality is a bit more loud, but Benoit has more legitimacy behind his aura as well as the workrate god status. If you could only have one, who would it be?

Not sure what to think of Arizona yet. When they are highly touted, they usually disappoint and when they have no real expectations, they come out and shine brightly. I am dying for Arkansas to do something. I'm just glad college hoops are back though.

manero is all over it. Steroids are bad for you.

6 of the 15 non pinned threads are rap related. There is a lot of hip hop talk going on in TSM, I'll give you that. However, the point must be reiterated that if you don't like what's being talked about, bring up what you do like to talk about. I do this in the wrestling folders constantly. By the way, the "Dangerous" in my name has been explained and has nothing to do with me trying to portray being a bad ass or anything like it.
-
Then step up and start one and quit trolling the hip hop threads, Czech. I can't stand country music and while there are no country music threads here, if there were, I sure as fuck wouldn't waste my time bitching and moaning about how bad I hate their music. I see on the list of threads in music on this first page, you've started exactly ZERO threads on "jazz or something" or anything for that matter. Why don't you practice what you preach and start up a thread about music you actually like and stay the fuck out of hip hop since you don't really have anything to contribute as far as discussion is concerned.

Hell, even without Christian, why do they need Jeff? Jeff will still be around as long as Dixie Carter continues to be a mark for him.

From Observer site. Hey, the rating is up! Guess .2 were the trick or treaters or something.

I'm closing in nice. Ranking is 491 in the world. Here is tommorrow's lineup... PG Sam Cassell SG Dwayne Wade SF Shawn Marion PF Elton Brand C Yao Ming Cch Clippers

I'd like to hope that with Jerry Jarrett pulling the stunt he did last week and news like Jeff is turning viewers off, that Jeff's power backstage will slowly dwindle and he'll just go the fuck away. It's kind of wishful thinking, but whatever.
-
Not really. You might have, but not all of us did. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My thing is, while it gave people a mark out moment, in hindsight and the big picture, it may also have hurt the company as a whole.

Man, for Canada, it'll be like in Japan where you have to be a vampire to watch wrestling. That, or learn to set yoru Tivo's or VCR's.

My Taker suggestion wasn't meant to be literal. It was an example. I should've said Heidenreich. JBL is a much better example of who might really get the title with Batista seemingly out now. My point is, when in panic mode and backed into a corner, Vince turns to his big guys. A lot of people are clamoring for Benoit, Eddie, and Rey to get the Mania positions and win the title, but it just seems outside of Vince's M.O. Would I welcome him to try with the better workers? Yes. We'll see in the coming weeks.
-
As cool as this sounds, not gonna happen. Vince and Co., according to Meltz, are in full panic mode right now since the Batista injury and you know what Vince does when he goes into panic mode. Hossmania. He turns to his big guys. So yeah, Taker will be winning the title here very shortly.

Looking back in hindsight, was the Cena to Raw/Batista to Smackdown move a mistake? Throw out Batista getting hurt last night. I get that they did it to put over the draft lottery, but both men lost a ton of steam since the move. Batista just hasn't been getting the reactions he did on Raw and Cena is now starting to get negative reactions. I think once Batista got past HHH as a threat and Cena past JBL, people started to forcast who was next for these guys, and then bam- they are sent to the other side. Sure, Cena got a great pop that first night of the draft lottery, but in hindsight this looks to have been somewhat of a creative mistake. Thoughts?

Man, when it rains, it pours. Just a bad break. I'm very disappointed because Batista was one of the few guys WWE has gotten over as a top guy. He has the best unspoken charisma in all of WWE and while he lost steam with the move to SD, he was still garnering great reactions and WWE hadn't cut his legs from under him. If it's a total tear of the lat, he's out at least a year, if not a little longer. The kids in my wife's class (she teaches 3rd grade Bilingual elementary kids) are going to be big time disappointed because he is their favorite wrestler, even over guys like Rey and Eddy.

Since the thread has degenerated into a sort of top 10 Wrestlers of the Year, here goes mine... 1- Samoa Joa 2- Kenta Kobashi 3- Mistico 4- Austin Aries 5- Shawn Michaels 6- KENTA 7- CM Punk 8- Chris Daniels 9- Ultimo Guerrero 10- Bryan Danielson/Kurt Angle (tie)
-
My standards are strict too. Check out when we talked about Kobashi versus Misawa from 2003 and Kobashi versus Akiyama from last year. I'm not saying you aren't strict HTQ, hell, you say 6/3/94 is overrated. However as a whole, I feel MisawaGQ is a bit stricter from the few posts I've read from him.

While Danielson did miss a chunk of summer to work in Europe, don't forget he had a killer best of five series against Homicide from January to May that kicked all kinds of ass. Danielson isn't my pick, but he's a top 5-10, easy. And raz, I don't think Ultimo Guerrero gets enough respect or run here (or anywhere for that matter) so I salute you for bringing him up. He's a top 10 worker for me as well. Los Guerreros del Infierno Rule the Muthafuckin World!!

Another factor in all of this is even if the Dudleys have a case, they may not have the resources i.e. money to fight WWE in court, which can get expensive. WWE does things like drag out time so you end up spending money hand over fist in legal fees fighting them. If you actually do come close to beating them, they will look to settle.
-
Cause the Dudleys were a trademark of ECW and when Vince bought ECW, he got the rights to that.

New Japan to withdraw from Dome Shows after 1/4
Dangerous A replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
The main thing is not creating any new native talent in drawing positions. Hell, basically NOAH is just the AJPW ME'ers from the 90's under a different name. NJPW is even more fucked from a star standpoint. While guys like Tanahashi and Nakamura are good workers, they haven't shown that star quality that Chono, Muto, and Hashimoto had in the late 80's, early 90's. -
HTQ agreed with the full monty (*****) for Joe/Kobashi, but I know your standards are a bit more strict. That said, what were your star ratings for Joe/Punk I-III?
