  1. My ass he's not. Dude is big and has 7 different kinds of Backne and even Chestne. He's puffy. Trust me, he's on the juice. If guys really get off stuff, physiques are really going to be fun to watch. We'll be getting Lashley vs Misterio in no time, being that Lashley is 75% chemicals, (being that he competed in amateur at 177 ibs) and the Dicks (Tolands) are going to start looking like ROH guys, except with no in ring ability.
  2. West still has faults, but I don't mind him. Tenay actually needs to slow down on being over excited because it comes off as corny. West is good at over excited, so it works for me. One thing I'll say about West is he actually has improved and shows genuine love for what he does, as opposed to a guy like Coach, who has gone backwards and probrably gives two shits about wrestling.
  3. It'd have to happen in an alternate universe. Hansen is damn near legally blind and is STILL recovering from doing such a hard hitting style for so long. The comparisons to JBL and Stan Hansen are laughable because JBL couldn't work Hansen's dick in a wrestling match.
  4. Problem is hardly anyone is doing it the natural way. I just went to the July 4th show (HBK Turn) and was ringside. A guy like Val Venis looks toned and has some really ripped abs, but on TV, he isn't main event big. Then you see him in person and you immediately can see he is on something. Davairi used to be toned. He is now on something.
  5. The real money program for Samoa Joe is not in his chase for the X Division title, but the World title. Problem is, Samoa Joe can actually go in the ring, so he gets put in the X Division, which is basically the workrate division whereas the Heavyweight division might as well be called the Personality division since that is where all the character development and mic time go to. That is pretty much why TNA is where TNA is. The only people allowed to connect with the crowd are the boring heavies like Jarrett, Kip James, 3LK, etc. The X Division guys don't get enough time or stories for them to engage and embrace. This will continue to keep TNA in the .7-.9 range in ratings.
  6. Actually, that isn't a bad question Downhome since that is why a lot of guys jumped to WCW during the war. As far as in shape physiques, it depends. I could believe Shelton Benjamin is fairly natural, but Rey Mysterio has packed on some serious muscle since his WCW days, yet he still gives off an in-shape vibe. Also, a lot of people on the IWC just have a hard time dealing with a favorite of theirs on the gas. Benoit is my personal WWE favorite, yet I am not naive to the point where I think he's clean of steroids. Again, it's not just working out and stuff, but the travel these guys put in and what little time they have to work out correctly and eat clean on the road, you can just tell they are taking steroids as the shortcut to maintain their physiques. BTW, that was not an attack on you, Downhome.
  7. Hell, even the Divas take steroids that help slim you down and give you a toned look. No one is passing this test except Rosey and Viscera.
  8. No, it wasn't about Dinsmore. It just came out today that the reason Dinsmore was hopsitalized was overdosing on somas. Keller is still referring to Angle because he said that this particular person's death would be bigger than Eddie's death and while Eugene is over, he ain't that over.
  9. What are the specifics of the testing? That is the real question. Perhaps they only test 3 guys a month. For all we know, those 3 guys could be Rosey, Nunzio, and one of the Mexicools. Yeah, that's great that perhaps they are looking out for guys in the low/midcard, but do you seriously think they'll spring a test on HHH, Angle, Mysterio, Taker, Kane, or Lashley one week before WrestleMania? If so, would they have the courage of their conviction to suspend them before the biggest show? It's nice to hear about testing, but I'll wait until I see how it's being done before handing out kudos and pats on the back.
  10. To an extent you are correct in that steroids were not the only factor in Eddie's death. However, to say he wasn't on them is a little naive. Eddie is not that big naturally and to maintain that physique on the road and not having good genetics to have a big, killer body, you can tell he had been using them. How recent is anyone's guess. I'm not saying he was a total roid freak, but you simply can't maintain that look. He also had the tell tale signs like very bad Backne. I don't have a toxicology report and I have no chemical proof, but I know Eddie has been on the gas, even before he went to WWF/E. Also, his abuse of drugs was his abuse of painkillers. The steroid use didn't help. You don't get enlarged hearts by working out really hard.
  11. Correct. I think we are all talking about muscle building steroids. I have a steroid inhaler for my asthma called Q-Var, however I don't have to worry about an enlarged heart after taking it.
  12. If Eddie hadn't died, SD would've been one page, two tops. Creatively, SD was/is dying. So is TNA, unless they start to change things up format-wise. They are in a comfort zone and have not taken a chance yet in booking, which is why things look like groundhog day in TNA as far as who's on top with the belts.
  13. This was a decent show, however, I think the rating will be down to around .7 or even lower, based on lower than usual responses in other forums. Monty/Christian exchange was ok. Yeah, there were some nitpicky things that need adressing, specifically Monty, but all in all, a good segment. I didn't like Abyss/Rhino as much as others. AJ finally was finally afforded some time to show some fire. It wasn't blowaway or anything, but it worked and I can't wait for Joe/AJ II. The backstage stuff with 3LK wasn't bad. The backstage stuff with Jarrett was. I also hate how TNA still does the same things WWE does like having someone interupt someone else with theme music and full on entrance extravaganza. Stop trying to out 'E' WWE because it aint gonna happen. I know you have to have some lighter things and entertaining segments and not just straight wrestling, but when you try to do damn near the exact same thing WWE does week in and week out, it comes off as lame. AMW/Team 3D segment was fine. They need to give Brother Ray/Bubba the mic more often because he can actually talk. He isn't the Rock or Jericho on the mic, but he's in the top 10% in TNA if given time on the mic.
  14. This man speaks the truth. It's CYA- cover your ass, over at Titan Towers.
  15. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Phil Mushnick has had it out for Vince McMahon for awhile now. He actually writes scathing articles about him, usually once a year or so and they usually revolve around some controversy or death. This is nothing new or relevatory. Nothing is going to change about the industry. Vince can come up with a fluff drug policy which covers his ass more than protects his wrestlers, and I'll bet we won't hear peep one about this drug policy in 6 months because it's just a smoke screen and nothing will change. For fans like myself who have followed wrestling a long time (not just beginning with the Attitude or NWO era) we are shocked by a famous death, but not surprised. What do you expect from an industry that has you traveling over half the year, parties with drugs like rock stars, workouts with steroids, and in the evenings, you put your body through the equivalent of several mini car crashes? The only thing that changes is when I turn on WWE television programming, Eddie Guerrero will never wrestle again.
  16. Damn, Kobe jacked up 35 shots to get his 36 points. That is why they lost. Just as Krankor said, they live and die by Kobe's hand. Nice to see the Kings get a kick ass win against a decent Bucks team. I'd like to see the Kings a smidge above .500 before November lets out and I think they'll be fine.
  17. With a 6-3 record in the West they are. Take a look at the Western Conference. It's not pretty, especially the Northwest and Pacific divisions.
  18. I'm not sure a midcard belt is the answer. I read an article on the torch site that had a good idea in regards to how TNA structures their shows. The article says since you usually have 3 weeks between ppv's, use each week to focus on one leg of TNA- Heavyweight, Tag Team, and X Division. Each show should focus on one major storyline in each division and character development for people not involved in the major stories going on. This gives people at least 3 different things to look forward to on a ppv.
  19. Although only 9-10 games have passed for the league, the balance of power has really shifted to the East. There are just more power teams in that conference. Detroit and Indiana (although their current record doesn't indicate it, they'll be in the mix) are the cream of the crop with Miami right below them. Cleveland, Philly (who have reeled off 6 straight after starting 0-3) New Jersey, Washington, and Milwaukee are the next tier. Hell, just about every team in the Central is a playoff threat. In the West, the Pacific and Northwest divisions are very shaky. If Amare doesn't go down, the Suns would be a lock. Since that isn't the case, it's wide open. If the Warriors got ambitious, they could possibly pull ahead, but they seem to not perform consistently. (here's a clue, it's because Mike Montgomery doesn't know the pro game very well)Northwest could go any way. The only division with any solidarity is the Midwest with the Texas Triangle teams and Memphis as the power teams.

You're right. For the most part, tennis does suck. However, I will say... Maria Sharapova >>>> Anna Pornikova ...in just about every department IMO.
  21. Most long term main eventers are marks for themselves, especially coming from WWF/E. You almost have to be in order to maintain your spot. It's a dog eat dog environment and the only person who is going to look after you is you. If you aren't to some degree full of yourself, than you probrably didn't have a long reign on top. Let's take a look at some past WWF/E champs. Chris Benoit- Selfless. Run didn't last as long as it should've. Chris Jericho- Fairly selfless. Willing to go with whatever. Run didn't last as long as it should've. Eddie Guerrero- Pretty much the same deal as Jericho, although to be fair he asked to be taken down a spot because of the pressures. Now, how about some other guys... Hulk Hogan- Mark for himself. Ultimate Warrior- Mark for himself Shawn Michaels- Mark for himself HHH-Mark for himself Steve Austin- Mark for himself Rock- I'd say Rock is smack dab in the middle where he was selfless and didn't mind jobbing and such, but he still was high on himself.
  22. Just finished watching Joe/Kobashi last night and I have no issue giving it *****'s. I felt the selling was top notch and even Kobashi's hulk up spots were not out of place. Kobashi totally made Joe appear as his rival and I love Joe's final desperate outburst of slaps as he goes down in a blaze of glory. Now, I need to see the Joe/Punk series from start to finish.
  23. Coffey, you touched up on one of the fundamental problems that TNA has right now. Lack of direction. Where are they going with Abyss and Sabu? Why does Abyss fear the barbed wire? Not to go RRR on you, but this should be examined, at least a little. It would certainly get us to give at least 2 shits about them before they are cut to ribbons in a match. Good point about the being different and being an alternative. Even during promos on TNA, they still duplicate what WWE does and have theme music interupt whoever is talking. That is just one example. They should not be doing backstage skits (also because they look terrible), they should be doing everything out in the ring or ringside area. If you are going to be different, really be different. Also, now that they have a national slot and have expectations to Spike TV, they should stop pandering to the lockerroom and not worry about feelings. They feel they have to have Team Canada, AMW, Jeff Jarrett, 3 Live Kru, Kip James, etc on at least once a show or somehow feature them because they'll be mad if they don't get some air time because a lot of those guys were there from the get go or these guys were former WWF stars. This is going to kill them in the end. No one wants to pay to see these guys and none of them are going to become TV stars, especially Jarrett, no matter how many times they get on TV. The shows are the same. TNA right now is playing in their comfort zone. The way the shows are now are the same as when they were on FSN and the internet. There is no feeling of the Spike show being different. It's the same ol, same ol. Christian is the only bright spot right about now, along with Samoa Joe and the X Division. After the brutal Genesis match and some corny promos, I've soured on Monty Brown. I'm not saying to kill his push. I'm just saying he's not hot anymore IMO.
  24. Tom Green was a hack. Ali G is worlds better. Ali G's movie also smoked Tom Green's movie. (which isn't saying much)
  25. Perhaps they will release a matches only DVD like they did with HBK and HHH.
