  1. Gran Torino was good. I really liked the ending, but I found the editing and pacing to be a bit choppy. Eastwood carried the film fairly effortlessly, but didn't really get a ton of support acting-wise, though I found the sister and brother to be likable despite their awkwardness, as well as the ginger priest despite his gingerness. The trailer had most of the good badass parts in it.
  2. "BIG NOG" oooh Dana.
  3. Yeah, Nover seemed to go limp whenever Efrain went for a takedown.
  4. Nover was landing seemingly at will with his hands, it would have been interesting to see him go with that rather than throwing kicks and knees.
  5. 5 rounds would have been awesome, given that Nover won the last round and was seemingly on a comeback. Not enough, though.
  6. Nover's strategy of leading with a knee is brilliant.
  7. He has a fevah, and the only prescription is more Noguiera. Mir was awesome there. Totally built Nog up.
  8. Is that Blue Steel from Frank, or Ferrari?
  9. OOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!
  10. So there are two guys named "the fire" on this card?
  11. "The fight that will turn one champion into a legend" BILLIONS.
  12. "Tenderness" by General Public from the guy that lost to Junie.
  13. Best entrance music ever. This Junie fight is really good so far. Junie looked real good. Gorgeous takedown. Fuckin great, now Goldie gets to say "The kid sure has grown up, hasn't he" all over again.
  14. Oh yeah, Rashad/Chuck is definitely KO of the year.
  15. I am really digging Craig Ferguson. Best Late Night Talk. I don't think anybody interviews like him, though Dave occasionally comes close. The NBC guys are way too scripted. Ditto Comedy Central. Very conversational, and he tries to, and is often successful at, getting his guests to be at ease. I love when he interviews regulars, cause they're always game to go with it.
  16. I am drawing a blank for the sick KO's this year. Koschecks was nasty and probably the one I most thought "Ok, that dude is definitely dead".
  17. I'd say Wall-E is the best film of the year, at least my personal favourite. Mid-way through it I was like "what is going on with the muscles in my face?", turns out I was smiling all the way through. Though "So much better than I thought it would be" category is ruled by Role Models.
  18. You know its a fucked up show when THAT isn't the most disturbing thing that happened.
  19. How was Downey best supporting? I am fairly sure he had the most screen time in Tropic Thunder. Also, Gary Oldman got fucked if Tom Cruise got nominated and he didn't. His Gordon is fantastic and is more lost in the role than Cruise was under a ton of prosthetics. He should have danced during the credits, that would have won him it..
  20. Oh god there are gifs... View At your own risk guys.
  21. That can't be real. Please god let that not be real. I was looking at the pic, and expecting the break to be a bit higher on the shin, so I was like "where's the break?". Then I looked down the leg more. Then I cried.
  22. God I hope he is still alive. So for a show about a centre for recovery from injuries, they sure have had a lot of guys end up going to the hospital. Hey Goldberg, that's what irony is.
  23. Woooooooooooow. I am shocked.
  24. OOH OOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. It's the standard life cycle of a product, though. Basic economic stuff, where they are trying to maximize revenue when their popularity is the highest, and when it starts to dip then they do things like decreasing price, running less shows, etc. But there is only a certain window of opportunity to do these things and now is the time to milk the fanbase. Like Lei said, there is enough talent to spread out over the cards, which is great for the overall health of the UFC. More guys fighting, the better they get, the increased odds of finding the next potential champion/draw. In this regard, we don't lose. Where *we* do lose is with ticket prices for shows. I was giving serious thought to going to see Penn/GSP live before I saw what tickets were going for. That's bullshit.
