  1. Im pretty sure nate tweaked. Its getting kinda fucked up. Killer streak.
  2. Or it sets up a Faber chase.
  3. D ON HIS FEET? The dude showed absolutely no instincts whatsoever. No head movement at all. He didnt even react to getting hit other than "oooh that hurt". he was like bart simpson reaching for a cupcake. Filho is Tyson.
  4. ...and when is this show happening?
  5. Considering I missed the eps. and am looking to see who got eliminated, yes. I like the results.
  6. Alves vs. Koscheck was suitably dope, with Alves chopping away and Koscheck landing some pretty sweet bodyshot combos. Horwich vs. Miller was great if only for Rogan completely jizzing rubber guard theory and terminology. The reaction to Jr. KOing Werdum was hilarious.
  7. Anderson is such a dick in this fight. Definitely toying with Cote, certainly cocky, and I think he was looking for an opportunity to throw a fireball or something. He was clearly goofing around.
  8. Randy being an underdog can only mean good things for The Natural. Also, 5 rounds.
  9. If they can have girl/girl on the show, I demand equal opportunity. ...like, blonde on blonde?
  10. This All Access is awesome, Anderson Silva is the coolest motherfucker ever.
  11. You know what they say, "you are what you put on your chest".
  12. Maybe they are going for a Wrestlemania-esque title where we'll being getting an Ultimate 2009 next year.
  13. EXC was still something like 60 mil in the hole, so no matter what happened during Shamrock/Kimbo, they were still fucked. It's just whatever thread of hope for making money died when Kimbo did, so they packed up shop. In other words, a nice cold dose of reality.
  14. The reason the UFC is not dead right now is because they "low ball" fighters. How many promotions have thrown money away spending 6 figures on guys who don't draw? Well, just about every fucking promotion in the past few years that has started up and died within a year and a half. There should not be any fighters making over 100,000 that are outside the UFC. And yet guys like Arlovski, Sylvia, Barnett, etc. are making well over that. And the promotion that signs them dies. Let's call it the Matt Lindland Syndrome. Any company willing to pay Lindland that money he commands dies because they are investing money in a fighter who no one fucking cares about and who no one likes to watch fight. UFC does not have a monopoly. A monopoly is more than just one company having the vast majority of market share. It's more about barriers to entry. UFC can't control whether or not new promotions start-up, as evidenced by all the bandwagon jumpers in the past few years. Joe Blow could go out and start up his own fighting organization right now if he wanted to, or some rich billionaire could invest money and start competing with the UFC right away. It's just the market kills those types of people because there isn't really enough room for 2 promotions. There isn't another NFL for a reason. Or MLB. Or NHL.
  15. In MMA, with the gloves the way they are, to just stand there and block punches with your arms is becoming quite retarded. You have to move out of the way, either through head movement or footwork.
  16. I finished Guns Germs and Steel recently and enjoyed it a ton. Really opened up a vein that I didn't think existed, in regards to my own interests. His categorizing of Eurasia is a bit unfair to all parties, though, given its total landmass and diversity of cultures and people. Still, he brought up a ton of stuff that made a bunch of sense, so I generally agree with his pov, and it certainly has changed the way I view various geo cultural tings, particularly how mans evolution to germs has affected the world. Rereading Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy right now, as well as reading Broken Angels (sequel to Altered Carbon). Angels is very good thus far, but lacks the pull of Carbons murder-mystery/whodunnit. Might dummy a bunch of pages tonight, but I don't have this pressing need to finish it. Took me forever to finish The Picture of Dorian Grey, which was under 200 pages and probably took me a better part of 2 months to read. For the most part, a very good and surprisingly easy read. The only time it dragged was when Wilde went chin-deep into description for the most unnecessary of fanciful objects. Must've been the fag in him coming out.
  17. It was an all stand-up show, which kinda sucked cause I like variety. Davis was super impressive, though. The switch is definitely moving from blocking to evading in terms of striking defense, which is better for MMA. I enjoyed Sokodjou vs. Cane mainly because it was like watching two horror movie villains fighting each other.
  18. Yeah, Wilson said it was the most fun he has had after Amber died.
  19. McCain is such a patronizing douchebag. It's like Cheney was able to switch bodies somehow, like in Fallen. Edit: And I am totally voting for him. As much as a Canadian citizen could.
  20. I couldn't imagine CBS being happy if EXC put Carano vs. Cyborg on PPV.
  21. That's a serious beard on Rogan.
