    NHL on NBC

Indeed. I suppose it's one thing if you live in either Detroit or Colorado, as you get to see your team pretty well throughout the season.
  2. I would hope that some people would give it a shot, just to see the emergence of one of the biggest stars in the game for a long time to come in Jarome Iginla. He's been great. Either series will be interesting. Philly will think that they can push around the smaller Flames forwards, which won't work, as that's what Detroit's power forwards tried. Tampa will use speed to get around Calgary's defense, which won't work, as Vancouver and San Jose found out. The SCF will be interesting to say the least. As it is now, I hope Tampa makes it, just because there would be a lot more excitement with end-to-end action.
  3. Sadly, you do get free "bling-bling" in every pair. You get a little black velvet bag with a dollar-bill money clip encrusted with rhinestones. The women's version gets a keychain that reads "cash money" or something.
  4. Sharks defense was terrible last night. Kiprusoff looked very sharp, and Iginla again stepped up when he needed to. Looks like the Flames will win and go to the Cup Finals.

    Work Perks

Assistant Manager @ Finish Line. %30 discount on everything.
  6. Red Sox in my lifetime: Aaron fucking Boone. NHL: See sig about this past playoffs, with quite possibly the best Senators team in history.
  7. Plus Damon has made a deal with Gillette, who are going to pay him a certain amount of $$$$ to shave off the beard and hair for charity. Knowing that it's in Boston, it's probably the Jimmy Fund. What a classless dick he is, indeed.
  8. Don't forget about: Isles get: Alexei Yashin Senators get: Zdeno Chara, Bill Muckalt and the Isles 2001 first rounder (Jason Spezza).
  9. I like Mike & Mike and Dan Patrick. "The Herd" can go to hell, as I haven't heard him discuss anything but football since he got on the air.
  10. Flames in the final would be awesome, and I'm not even from Canada.
  11. Even though there aren't too many Flyers fans in the house: Flyers get: Eric Lindros Nordiques get: Ron Hextall, Steve Duschene, Kerry Huffman, Mike Ricci, Chris Simon, Peter Forsberg, a 1st rounder in 1993 and 1994 and cash. Basically, the Nordiques could field a line (3F and 2D with a goalie) for one player. Plus, they got one of the premier players of the last decade in Forsberg, Ricci helped them along the stretch run as well.
  12. NHL: Boston Bruins: Bobby Orr. Revolutionized the position. NBA: Boston Celtics: Larry fucking Bird. MLB: Boston Red Sox: Ted Williams. Never saw him play obviously, but he's the greatest hitter for average ever.
  13. NHL: Boston Bruins: Bobby Orr New York Islanders: Denis Potvin Edmonton Oilers: Wayne Gretzky Tamp Bay Lightning: Vinny LeCavalier Philadelphia Flyers: Bobby Clarke Colorado Avalanche: Joe Sakic Pittsburgh Penguins: Mario Lemieux Hartford Whalers franchise: Ron Francis That's all I can think of off the top of my head. NBA: Boston Celtics: Larry Bird. I was lucky enough to have him playing during my childhood, so I have a lot of great memories about that kind of basketball, MLB: Boston Red Sox: Ted Williams.
  14. Exactly. Christ, I haven't seen a show of theirs in a year now, but I'll tape it a few times to try and get into it again. You don't HAVE to watch it live.

    10.5

I don't know anything about camera/directing lingo, but it seemed that they were trying to emulate what the directors on '24' do at dramatic times in the show by zooming in. Problem is that there was no serious drama and they overdramatized almost everything, so it all came off laughable.
  16. Flames d. Sharks in 6 Bolts d. Flyers in 6
  17. If anyone can do it, I'd bet on: Iginla (with a few more weapons) Heatley (when healthy) St. Louis Any of those players have the skills to do it, and are going to be stars for a long time to come.
  18. Lewis just always looks confused. Saw the highlights, and Calgary flat-out outplayed them. You could just see it in the extra step they had, finishing their checks, and creating traffic and pressure in front of CuJo. CuJo will probably get a raw deal out of this, and end up traded or whatever. Fact is, that they treated him like shit for most of the year, with Hasek in net, sending CuJo to the minors, etc., while he pondered a buyout, and wondered each day if he'd be traded or not. Kudos to Curtis Joseph for being professional and doing his job. Changes that I see: Hull, Shanahan, Chelios, and maybe even Yzerman gone. They need an overhaul on offense. Draper, Maltby and Holmstrom were their most consistant players, and they are known more for defense than anything. Pavel Datsyuk needs to step up as well. Defensively, they'll be fine, as Lidstrom and Schneider give them one of the best pairings in the league. I'd keep CuJo, if I were them, although his play in the Calgary series could have made other teams turn their heads and contemplate a trade.
  19. Gretzky got to 92, I think. 100/100 is practically impossible, as you can have one star on your team, but he needs a lot of go-to guys around him to get the 100A. The +/-50 has almost been done. And yes, if someone got a GAA under 1.00, it would be ridiculous.
  20. A AAA baseball game once ran 33 innings, in 1982. Wade Boggs and Cal Ripkin Jr. both played in the game. It was the Pawtucket Red Sox and someone else. I used to have the souvenier cup, with the innings stretched around the top of it. It had to get stopped and restarted on a different day, because it was like 6AM or something.
  21. If he does it against the Yankees, Anglesault should broadcast his suicide over the internet.
  22. Slap Shot ("This young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle. Number six, Ogie Oglethorpe.") Major League 1+2 ("Hello Tribe fans, welcome to Major League Baseball... sort of. Paid attendance today...1412...of course, most of them were driven away by that little 10 run first inning the Red Sox put up...Take over Monty...I'm... in the bag.") Hoosiers ("If you put your effort and concentration into playing to your potential, to be the best that you can be, I don't care what the scoreboard says at the end of the game, in my book we're gonna be winners.")
  23. In the ESPINsider thing. Of course, the title of the article was 'Why JErome Iginla needs to step up' which was pretty fucking obvious. So, it's more of a 'no shit' article system they have.
  24. Nothing beat their graphic last week to read an article on ESPN.com on JErome Iginla. Fucking fools.
  25. The smart ones do.
