Besides the fact that ECW was on national TV, everything else about the TNN deal sucked.

Try www.imdb.com they usually have soundtrack listings for movies. Ok, the song is called, "Nightmare" by 213. I'm still having trouble finding it on Kazaa Ressurection. download SoulSeek.

90% of reality shows are just dramatic situations with something going on in the background, like cooking, or dating, or modeling, or singing.....just to fool the viewer into thinking they are watching something better.

Oh and that spinoff to Married w/ Children starring Matt LeBlanc, was called "Top of the heap"

This is the conflict I have because I am the rare breed that is Metalhead and Sports fanatic all wrapped into one person. So all my sports watching friends look at me weird when I happen to tell them some of the music I listen to, while my metalhead friends don't understand why I "waste my time" watch sports.

I dunno if this was on Fox or not, but what was that one show with Jerry O' Connel, where he could fly but he had to use aerosel cans or something to fly. I am thinking it is "My Secret Identity" but I am not quite sure.

Funny you should mention this because I find it highly Ironic at how many things owned by the city, state, and federal government are solar powered, which translates to LOW or NO Cost in energy bills...which is a GREAT thing btw, but when it comes to the PRIVATE sector, politicians constantly claim "oh well we dunno enough about that technology to impliment it yet"

The DVD is really good, but to do ECW justice there should be a part two with more matches. 7 matches(some of them not even the best they could have picked) does not do ECW justice.

They expanded too fast too soon. Instead of expanding slowly, state by state, they tried to move too far afield. They paid for tv timeslots they really shouldn't have, because they felt they had to take the offer while it was on the table. Not to mention that they were kicked off TNN(Spike), and the would-be deal with USA network fell through at the last minute.

People need to listen to Byte This before the judge. Heyman isn't bashing TNA at all. Matthews just asks him if they are competition, to which Heyman responds with "no" and Heyman said he wishes they were or that somebody was because the industry NEEDS IT. The only spin Heyman puts on it is with Jarrett by saying that they have lost more money in two years then ECW did in all of it's seven years of existence. Also Heyman said that a lot of the bounced checks and financial troubles near the end happened because they couldn't access the money that the PPV companies owed them.

I'd rank both incarnations of the Triple Threat ahead of evolution, but especially the original: Shane Douglas, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko.

Most inaccurate statement Jim Ross??
NoCalMike replied to hbkhhhmark4life's topic in General Wrestling
How about "This is going to be the greatest Raw ever" that is pretty inaccurate and said on a weekly basis. -
Before I sign off, I just wanted to mention another great point Heyman made about ECW. He was talking about how they showed a clip of Rey Jr. losing, but the match was excellent and that is what mattered in ECW. He talked about how it didn't really matter who won or lost, as long as the match was good, and that everyone left the ring with more then they walked to the ring with. I think that is also a major problem in WWE right now and over the past few years is that people go out of their way to book matches in order to make someone else look like crap, even though they are retaining a title in the process, and that is just not good for business and screams of self promotion.

The problem is, these taller and bigger people are just not as athletic. Sure, they are muscular and fit, but they are not agile at all, I mean being "agile for being 6'5" doesn't really mean shit, and I can give a shit really. The best wrestling talent out there in general does not fit the prototype for a WWE superstar anymore. It looked like for a brief period that WWE would come to it's senses a bit, but that DAY is over.

In my smoking days I preferred bowls and bongs because they didn't emite and waste as much weed, while it bruned in the process of people passing it around, and being too stoned to hurry up and take a hit before more weed would burn up. I prefer the process of you light it, take a hit, and then it stops burning so it isn't being wasted. I have seen far too many people jabber away or just stare off, while their joint burns up.

Cruiserweights also struggle in WWE because of the larger ring and the ropes are set to a different restraint I think. It makes a difference in the spring off the ropes and the timing.
-
Does it really matter anymore anyway? I mean WWE has a monopoly on America Prowrestling now, and assuming it stays this way for the next 5 years or so, they are going to be able to pretty much totaly rewrite history as to who was the best of everything anyway. Prowrestling desperately needs competition.
-
I think Heyman made a lot of great points, some have already been stated ad nasuem ala how ECW sort of gave birth to WWE attitude and such, but he was also very candid about things we haven't heard discussed publicly, such as his REAL attitudes toward the difference between the way Bischoff and Vince interacted with ECW. I am also intrigued now to see what Bischoff says on the dvd, because on Byte This Heyman says that on the dvd Bischoff totally denies raiding talent..but who knows. I also wished a caller would have asked the specifics and details about the whole Tod Gordon "mole" incident, and I wonder if that is brought up at all on the dvd,

Just watching the Byte This episode with Heyman and all the former ECW stars, brings back memories of how my interest was brought back to Prowrestling after WWF/WCW totally lost me in the early/mid 90's. I will be asking for this DVD for christmas. I think I am gonna go pop in an ECW tape right now as we speak..... Oh, how did everyone like that brief appearance by Beulah on Byte This. That was pretty cool.

I wanna get this, but alas I am jobless, so I might have to just put it on my christmas list, unless I happen to score a job in the next week or two.

Evil Dead Remake!?! Raimi & Campbell Remaking The Evil Dead Source: Variety November 18, 2004 "Spider-Man" franchise director Sam Raimi and original producing partners Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell are reteaming to produce a remake of the cult hit The Evil Dead through Ghost House Pictures and Senator International, reports Variety. Raimi wrote, directed and produced the 1981 film, which tells the tale of a group of friends who go to a cabin in the woods, where they find an unspeakable evil lurking in the forest. One by one, the teens become deadly zombies. With only Ash (Campbell) remaining, it is up to him to survive the night and battle The Evil Dead. Raimi will not direct the remake, so Ghost House is looking for a helmer to reinvent the franchise before a script is written. The original film spawned sequels Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness.

Basically yes. Abortion laws would affect the lower class and poverty-stricken people. Folks with money would just pay for their daughters to go to Canadian doctors, or across state lines where they could get a safe and sterile abortion. While the poor would rely on mexico and back-alley american doctors. Making abortion illegal is almost like making drugs illegal, noone is stopping the act, however it is just a lot more messy, and the results can be deadly. Abortions in this country have gone up in number since Bush has been in office, I'd like to single out the rise in poverty and his stance on abstinence-only sex education as a big reason, but I haven't done any research, so I am simply speculating.

Weird how the Blue states who receive less kickbacks from the government and put back in more then they get back are the ones that "are against acheivement" and think the "government should take care of them"

These are the type of wrestlers, and the type of segment that I had HOPED went out in the late 80's.

The music video is on the extras disc in the NOES box set.
