  1. I really think the 1990 A's are always overlooked because of the disaster of a World Series sweep, but damn watching them that year, they were fucking awesome. Damn Reds.
  2. well then find a candidate you like better, not named Bush or Kerry.
  3. Thank you, this rules.
  4. yeah this episode was classic, and it had pretty good timing for me, as one of my professors at school was just telling the class how he decided to join his daughter who hasn't eaten beef ever since the "Mad Cow in the USA" bullshit......hahaha. My class with him is over, but if I see him when I am strolling through the hallways, I'd like to throw some of the stats from the show at him......
  5. you and me both DH....
  6. To be fair though, she did do a rather lengthy and memorable run on 90210 and IMHO gave the show new life when she joined the cast. Her first episode, where she basically gets high and runs down how all of the cast members suck donkey balls remains my all-time favorite 90210 moment... this is true, and the thing I liked the most about her character was that she was very unapologetic about her weed use. I mean she wasn't portrayed as some damsle in teen crisis mode that was trying to "escape reality" She was just a teenager that liked to get high casually, much like a lot of teens out there. Now I stopped watching that show maybe 1-2 years into Valeries debut so maybe later on they changed her character, but this is how I remember her.
  7. Tonight they revisted that absurd police raid on that school a few months back, and totally exposed the principal and police as being complete assholes, and they didn't find ANYTHING and at best were hoping to find what, a bag of weed?
  8. vote 3rd party, hell vote 4th, 5th or 6th party.......
  9. For me personally, I think it is more important for Sac to stay ahead of the Lakers/SA then Minn. If Minnesota gets the top seed, big deal, I still don't buy them as a deep playoff threat and until they prove otherwise, then it is EOS. If Kings can maintain no less then the #2 seed, then they will still be in good position for the playoffs. They took the loss to Minnesota tonight and are looking at a HUGE game with the Lakers on Sunday, so I hope they don't overlook Phoenix tomorrow and get a stupid loss.
  10. My favorite Torrie episode was the drunk driving episode, because it was actually only maybe a few episodes in the entire library that dealt with a more serious teen issue. Plus watching the gang sing "Wild Thing" in the car while drunk was enough in itself to make it a great episode.
  11. I read that Jessie/Kelly just left the show after the "Junior" year because they wanted to move on and were afraid that anymore SBTB would equal typecasting and they would never get better roles because of always being looked at as "kelly and jessie from SBTB" Also the graduation episode, Senior Prom episodes and a few others were in fact filmed before those two bolted.
  12. The A's still have the pitching to carry them to a American League West first place finish. If Jermaine Dye's recent offense is not a tease, and he is truly back to his form from before he broke his ankle, then watch out, he will win comeback player of the year. Also Eric Chavez is poised, and Bobby Crosby is a likely canidate for rookie of the year. Now while this A's team is certainly good, it is still the worst team on paper over the past four years, so how far they go in the playoffs would once again come into question, but this year I could actually live with them not making it past the first round since they have a lot of situational players and youngin's, but that pitching should still be enough.
  13. EDIT: oops game over......
  14. A's fall to 2-1 Oh well they win their first series of the year. I believe I shall be going to the game on Friday Night, oh yes, I SHALL.
  15. Unless the drug test is on the spot, then you should be able to cleanse yer system 100% in a week or two. And if you can't go without smoking pot for a couple weeks then you are in serious trouble anyway. When I used to smoke frequently, I would just stop cold turkey when I would decide to change jobs or search the market because I knew that chances are, a drug test would be assigned.
  16. Well Punk'd is the least out of Punk'd/Viva La Bam/Wild Boys that I like, but hell, it is still decent. Now Pimp My Ride.......UGH.
  17. A biker's bill of rights? Good grief, and I thought it was bad enough with "taxpayer's" and "patient's" bills of rights. I don't mind people riding bikes, but many of them, in my experiences, don't obey any of the laws of the road... We really don't have very many, if any bike lines. Shit, we hardly have proper car lanes and the ones we do no one pays attention to anyway. You've obvioulsy never been to Boston. Here orange lights cause everybosy to speed up and crosswalks and "walk" lights don't mean anything. People just walk into the street, sometimes without looking and using the crosswalk is possibly more dangerous than jaywalking. My dad got hit by a car years ago while in a crosswalk and with the light. It's totally different here than any other big city I've been too (NYC, Chicago, Indianapolis, Montreal, Toronto, etc...). There's no rhyme or reasonto the lay out of the streets so there is no rhyme or reason to the way pedestrians move. All the roads are undersized and we have endless contruction, no all the "Big Dig" either. Bike lanes would just further narrow the streets and cause more problems. What the bill should say is, "get a fucking car or take the "T" (subway) like normal people do, you freaky tree huggers!" But, alas this is Mass. do we have to accomodate the very small minority (bicyclists) even if it means negatively affecting the super-majority (drivers). Hell, especially if it means affecting drivers. Those people are evil, they pollute the environment and run over peaceful, nonpoluting, MassPIRG endorsing, tree hugging bicyclists. Like I said, this state is fucked up beyond words. BTW, teh same woman who wrote this bill also wrote another that would allocate funds to put in more crosswalks among other things. She's from a town called Belmont. Belmont is an upper-middle class suburb of Boston, with so many crosswalks and so many cops on crosswalk duty that it is impossible to drive through the 1/4 mile long center of town in less than 10 minutes. You come to the outskirts of the center and have to stop for some bitch with her kid in a stroller and then 20 feet later you have to stop for an 80 year old couple to waddle, very slowly across the street and again 20 feet later for more of the funa dn excitmetn that is watchign people cross the street when they could easily be funneled into hald as many croswalks and be taught to wait until traffic lightens or some schmuck stops to let them cross. ummm, did you get ran over by a bicycle as a child?
  18. That's still the most incredibly lame excuse. I can't even begin to fight it because it's so lame. Any President who would neglect national security so travelers can get on the plane faster ought to be impeached. Kerry ought to just move to talking about deficit spending until the jobs thing deflates, again, like it always does. Do you really believe that? Picture this: Presidetn Bush comes on TV in May 2001 and says that there is a grave threat of international terroists hyjacking planes with boxcutters and then flying them into both towers of the WTC and the Pentagon. So we're going to lock down the borders, nationalize airline security, and cause you, the American public to have to wait in even longer lines to get on planes. That means that if you have an 8:00 am flight, you'll have to arrive at the airport at 6:00 am. So lets get started! People on both the right and the left would have thought he was fucking crazy. The "has he fell of the wagon" jokes would have started. He would have be accused of driving the country into to hysteria to avoid that fact that the "Bush Recession" is ongoing, and to try to legitimize his "judicially appointed presidency". The right would have said, "you want to nationalize airline security? What, are you ficking nuts?!" This never would have gone over with the public. To think it would have, or even that Bush knew 9/11 would happened and ignored it for (insert conspirisy theory here) is just naive, but out and out stupid. Instead the left follow the leader like lemmings and tune into the news every night to here more of Dick Clarke's American Grandstand and whatever horseshit that Kerrey has to montonely spew and think that him droning "Bring it on!" with all the enthusiasm of a man awaiting a rectal exam is catchy, cute, and the ticket to "taking back our country." (Apparently to the depression days of the New Deal). your assumption that only one side is full of horseshit is pretty hilarious. Do you honestly believe the Bush administration has been on the straight & narrow about this whole situation?
  19. HURRY HURRY HURRY........LETS PLAY........ If so I am NorCalManiac on AIM.......
  20. Dr Rice is not married. oops, my bad. I wasn't sure.
  21. I heard you can't communicate with your online team via the headphones, just the pre-installed generic sayings that the gamemakers put in the game beforehand. This sucks, but since I don't have the game yet, I may be making more of a big deal about it then need be. I need to find a report from someone has done the online stuff.
  22. well since this thread is back, I would like to point out that Punk'd is coming back. It was announced on Access Hollywood yesterday, and who is really suprised, ever since Punk'd was cancelled Ashton has been fading fast.
  23. Mike, do you have any idea how many pieces of intel our gov't gets every day? Any idea of how many MILLIONS of pieces they get? Any idea of how many of them are irrelevant and go nowhere? You can find individual pieces to say he ignored every thing known to man. It doesn't make it the case. He and his people have to decide which intel should be followed up and which does not. -=Mike ok, so what are you trying to tell me then, that Bush and his people aren't very good judges at what documents to believe?
  24. Hmm --- so Bush SHOULD have foreseen them flying places into buildings, but the possibility of them getting missiles is too ridiculous to consider? -=Mike Maybe you should ask our intelligence agencies. The fact of the matter is, there is no big history of terrorist organizations using some massive technological artillery to launch at another country. Hell Iraq didn't even have the capabilities to hit America, but somehow magically Al Qaeda would get it overnight? Of course we should be on the lookout for all possibilities, but really, for a bunch of cavemen, what is more likely a scenario? Osama is a caveman? I thought he was damned wealthy, actually. -=Mike of course he is wealthy, but obtaining missles and the technology to launch them, let alone launch them all the way to America is a lot more complex then, "here is some cash, gimme gimme gimme" I am just trying to look at what is more realistic of a situation for a terrorist group to do. Not even "planes, we should have known it would be planes" but just ideas in that vein. To me it would see more logical for something more subtle in methods of attack from Al Qaeda then launching a missle. Also you'd think the purchasing of a missle + technology would be a lot easier to monitor and eliminate fast then the airplane scheme, cause I mean hey, Bush knew that "Saddam bought uranium from Africa" right? Actually, he said he bought it from Africa. He never mentioned an individual country. The problem with terrorism is that WE DON'T KNOW how they'll attack. Heck, Spain barely averted ANOTHER train bomb this week. Who would have guessed that they'd try the SAME tactic twice (especially after the electorate did what they wanted and replaced the gov't?). We have to keep open to ALL possibilities --- and when new ones arise (such as kamikaze missions in airplanes), include those in our considerations. But, this whole 9/11 Commission keeps missing one key thing: If Bush knew everything --- including the date of the attacks --- there is nothing he could have done to stop them. There is a truism I've heard attributed to the Secret Service: If somebody is willing to kill themselves in order to kill the President (i.e bombs, plowing a plane into the WH, etc.), there is not much we can do about that. -=Mike Well yeah, I am not trying to say Bush didn't do anything about it, or that he knew and didn't care or that he had the writing on the wall and ignored it, but I'd still say there was more info there related to the matter then anyone in the whitehouse wants to admit to.
