  1. $3.53/gallon Sacramento, CA
  2. If Alexander isn't dove onto by the ref, he is probably taking 2-3 more clean shots to the face before getting rescued 2-3 seconds later anyway. He was flat on his back and not in any position to defend himself. Recovering after the fact is irrelevent really.
  3. I think regardless of "OMG Global Warmning...it's the end of the world, yo" it is a good idea to cut down on emissions period. Look, Los Angeles has a cloud of smog that sits over the city, as a lot of other cities do I would imagine. Now, regardless of "Global Warmning" how is THAT a good thing? Pollution and Waste being dumped into our waterways, how is THAT a good thing? Whether these types of problems are solved because of people acknowleding "global warming" or just because people want to get serious about cleaning up our breathing air/drinking water/food supplies is irrelevent to me, I just want the stuff cleaned up and monitored better. And this is probably what I don't understand the most about the "conservative" position on the matter. I know most of them don't believe in "Global Warmning" perse, but it seems as if they take it a step further and refuse to acknowledge any problems with pollution in general, as if they afraid that acknowleding anything means they are giving in to Global Warmning rhetoric.
  4. Showtime always replays the shows but at very random times.
  5. The PS2 was also a lot of people's first DVD player at the time as well. It was a selling point at the time.
  6. Houston Alexander has some work ahead of him, the starpower he gained from the vicious KO of Jardine is fading fast considering the way he has been KO'd in his last couple of fights. Joe Lauzon looked good against Florian. Joe's seems like he is going to have a great career ahead of him. Nate Diaz is an animal. You can never count the guy out until the ref is waving his hands because the guy finds ways out of any situation it seems.
  7. I dunno about most other PS3 owners, but personally I haven't had any complaints about the gaming thus far....most of the games I own/have owned have been worth the money. The exclusives like Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, Devil May Cry 4 have been very good games. I mean I think the "no good games" hype is sort of misguided at this point.
  8. I get the feeling the A's are going to be losing a lot of 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 type games this season. Their pitching could be something to contend with but the lineup is just so green. When Chavez finally gets back and if he decides to stop underachieving the middle of the lineup might be ok, but the rest are just so green, I feel like I am watching a mix of the Rivercats and Ports dressed up in A's gear.
  9. Kind of dissapointing to see the A's getting their 3rd At-Bats of the game and are still whiffing at 90mph fastballs.....jesus.
  10. I just bought some $13 bleacher seats for this Saturday in Oakland.....A's/Indians. C.C. Sabathia vs. Dana J. Eveland..... It's pet adoption day, first 15k get an A's pet calendar....WHOOHOO!!!
  11. Meaaaaaaaaaaat.....................Sandwich..............
  12. IMO, Shamrock lost because he went out there with something to prove, rather then to just use his all-around superior skills to win the fight. Considering he almost knocked out Cung Le fighting Cung Le's type of fight. It is almost like Shamrock was trying to slowly spin a web to catch Cung Le in, but on the way to that his arm got broken. I mean it is Shamrock's fault he didn't press the action in rounds 1 & 2.
  13. The bolded one continues today and will probably continue forever as long as our elected officials refer to all of our Iraq problems as "Al Qaeda"
  14. It's on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Crtk3VsszvA LOL. Triple H is the first to come out. Nice how most of the legends were no sold by the crowd. The four horsemen got cheers but probably because people recognize the name "four horsemen" over the actual wrestlers themselves.
  15. He has wrestled virtually the same match the last fifteen years, however before that point, yeah he basically deserves all the praise he gets.
  16. Well that and which network could offer the most video game-like "missles dropping on Iraqi cities" presentation.
  17. Not if their coverage during the run up to the war is any indication of their new-found "investigative journalism"
  18. Yeah I read earlier about the Diaz situation.....fuck it I am not going anymore. Instead I will go to Oakland to see The A's vs. Indians next Saturday($15 bleacher tickets)
  19. Mel's Diner around here has a daily special. Steak & Eggs $4.99 After 9pm. It is pretty cheap quality steak, but once you cut up the over-easy eggs and smother it over your steak, it makes for one hell of a cheap meal on the fly.........
  20. If this is just hypothetical then I think Paul Heyman as head of creative/writing would be the best choice. No single wrestler would turn things around, but good writing and compelling storylines can make heros out of zeros!!!
  21. It really makes you question whether the real objective in Iraq is even what this administration claims it to be. I mean, either they are really stupid and know nothing about the dynamics of foreign countries or they just don't care and have other objectives they want to execute and the hell with anything that gets in their way.
  22. I just checked....$30 tickets still available.....damn I wanna go.....I am going to try and work something out.
  23. If they actually were serious about an ME push with a title run.......RVD.
  24. Problem fixed: So somehow my speaker settings got changed from 5.1 to 2.0, so the sound card was trying to pump all the power through two speakers which made it jumpy. Once I changed the setting back to the proper 5.1 option, all was well. Update: problem NOT fixed. While the above statement seemingly fixed the problem, I get home from work today and the problem is back and this is even with the proper speaker settings....I am pretty much out of guesses. I just wonder if this problem goes beyond the audio equipment itself. I have been considering upgrading my speakers anyway(and maybe the sound card as well) but if this is some internal computer problem like some sort of conflict I am not sure how to fix it. The other weird thing is the center channel speaker is deciding not to work which is puzzling because when I run the diagnostic test I get sound through it, but then when I go to play music it doesn't play through it......goddammit.
  25. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bill-maher/t...ar_b_92775.html In the past 24 hours, Dick Cheney has been in Baghdad, calling the Iraq War a "successful endeavor." John McCain's there too, and actually uttered those four magic words, "the surge is working," which only differs from Cheney's analysis in the scary possibility that McCain might actually believe it. Then again, maybe Cheney's pronouncement can be chalked up to youthful exuberance -- after all, he's almost 5 years younger than McCain. And then there's that other possibility, the one that's starting to scare me: That by a certain neocon definition, Iraq is a success. What if the war in Iraq did go on for 100 years, as McCain suggested it might? What are we looking at? An entire century of ever-increasing military spending, necessitating deep cuts in all other government programs -- like public education and health care and all that other sissy stuff. A staging ground for ten decades of warfare with Islamist militants, for whom the place is becoming a terrorist fantasy camp ("Come to Iraq and fight real Americans in your own back yard! Get your picture taken with real al Qaeda pros! Learn the fundamentals of blowing yourself up!"). And endless, lucrative contracts for American companies that support the war effort, from Grumman to Raytheon to -- of course -- Halliburton. Companies that in the absence of a Cold War might otherwise see their prospects dwindling. What about that is not a success, by neocon standards? I've been scoffing at it for so long that think I missed the point. It's not a question of if the surge is working -- it's about whom it's working for.
