  1. Isn't UFC 85 only two weeks after 84 anyway, which is most likely going to hurt the buyrate of one of those two PPVs. Odds are that now that Chuck is off, most people are going to go for 85 because not only is Rampage headling, but both Rampage and Forrest are the coaches for TUF which is just the greatest promotion tool going right now. I don't see 84 surviving as a PPV, but who knows what is going through Dana White's mind. Me, I prefer UFC 83 & 85 to 84, and I don't want to carry two PPVs on one billing cycle, so if 84 remains a PPV, I think I am just going to Hooters for it.... (This entire post is null and void if it is in fact UFC 84 that is two weeks after 83, and not the scenario I laid out above)
  2. Here is the updated card and a head-to-head matchup... http://www.sportsline.com/mmaboxing/headtohead/cbs_exc_53108 Interesting that James Thompson gets the bout against Kimbo Slice, yet the last guy to beat Thompson is also on the card fighting someone else.
  3. I had known OF Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles for awhile, but I became a true believer a few years ago when along with a couple of friends, made the journey down to Hollywood to get some. My heart didn't appreciate it, but damn that was some gooood eatin'

  5. I believe I will be seeing this tonight after I go to the gym....when I do I will edit this post and put in my thoughts. EDIT: So yeah just got back from seeing it, funny ass movie. I am really enjoying how this team of guys is kind of evolving as writers. They manage to fit more raunch in with each movie without it feeling more over the top. IMO, 40 year old virgin was the most "over the top" comedy of the series in terms of the types of jokes, and when I say over the top I mean in a cheeseball kind of way, every since Knocked Up, the guys are fitting in more raunch but in a more "real life" type way if that makes any sense.....maybe not, but yeah. Great movie with a lot of memorable lines and scenes.
  6. So is it automatically assumed this can't be done without nuclear weapons? I actually kind of regret even engaging in this type of dialogue since I think the threat of nuclear weapons actually being used(at least weapons on the scale of Hiroshima) are greatly exaggerated.
  7. So then I guess the most dangerous aspect of the right is pre-emptively striking countries that pose no threat to America in the name of "spreading democracy"? So the right hasn't learned much since Vietnam.
  8. Oh, and yes I did mean in a retalitory fashion. If Iran attacked Israel with nuclear weapons, and Israel attacked them back with nuclear weapons, why does America need to step in and use nuclear weapons as well?
  9. Since Chuck is injured, why not just simply go back to the original planned fight of Liddell/Rua later in the summer? Also, the LHW division is already so packed in UFC, that adding more potential contenders is going to clog it up even more. There are probably enough good and entertaining LHW's to have a PPV tournament featuring just that weight division. Kind of like a Pride Grand Prix.......
  10. Well it depends. If you are the type of gamer that keeps all your games and save files, then I would look into buying a bigger HD for it, me personally, I buy games, beat them and then trade them in so I am constantly deleting files.
  11. Well like I said, it's not that I wouldn't want Chad, but the Redskins have depth issues at other positions, and are aging on the lines. I guess if the Skins were thinking about a WR with their 1st round pick, then getting Chad instead wouldn't be bad, but then next years 3rd rounder could turn into next year's 1st rounder......I dunno......it is a big trade if it somehow happens.
  12. Awesome. You go girl! I'm only asking cause I don't know, but does Israel have nuclear weapons? If so, why wouldn't they use them against Iran? Why does America need to get involved? And when was Iran actually threatening to use nukes against Israel, and I am not counting the mindless "rah rah" rhetoric.
  13. It seems like the last page and a half of this thread has been going in circles. Some people live in cities/towns and/or have jobs and the type of community where riding a bike to most functions is possible, some people don't. It is as simple as that. I don't fault people that work 30 miles from their house for driving a car to work, and I don't fault people that live a couple of miles from work for riding their bike to work. Neither is wrong or right. It is a lifestyle choice and each produces it's effects. With that said, I think the necessity that is owning a car(or more than one per household) is a direct result of poor planning and urban sprawl being out of control. That and the notion that "working close to home is a bad thing" is complete bunk. It probably isn't a mistake or accident that in most places, places people need to go are so spread out and inaccessible by foot. The fact that people are being ridiculed because they bike or walk places seems rather juvenile, of course this attitude has probably been reinforced by Chevy commercials blasting John Mellencamp in the backround.
  14. So I guess the Bengals just turned down an offer from Washington for this year's 1st round and next years conditional 3rd rounder(which could move to their first round pick if Johnson's hits certain numbers this year) in exchange for Chad Johnson. I guess the Bengals really don't want to trade him since that is probably the best offer they are gonna get. I wouldn't mind having Chad Johnson, but at THAT price, I dunno. On a team with a new head coach and a new offense being installed, I kind of think the less drama the better and the Redskins have some depth issues they need to address with the draft.
  15. I wonder if the A's have any desire to sign Frank Thomas.......
  16. Sabu vs. Taz

  18. The thing with Jardine is that he is basically a one-dimensional fighter. When you are purely a striker, you are going to lose as much as you win because there really isn't anyone incapable of being knocked out. I am not a big Jardine fan, but coming off his win against Liddell, if he somehow beats Silva next month, he probably either deserves a title shot or a shot at the winner of Liddell/Evans for the #1 contendership. Also, I don't think Houston Alexander is overrated or underrated, he just is what he is, a one-dimensional striker. He is basically a black version of Jardine. He is a good striker but that is it which means he will get KTFO just as much as he KO's his opponents. That is why Alexander vs. Jardine was such an exciting bout.(well for the striker fans out there) either guy could have been dropped. The sport of MMA has evolved too much for a pure striker like Jardine or Alexander to be the top ranked guys, but that doesn't mean they don't have a chance every time they step in the cage. Alexander more then Jardine probably, at least gives off the aura of having the chance to KTFO his opponent, even when he is clearly outclassed in other aspects of the MMA game. It is basically the same reason Kimbo Slice is putting asses in seats right now. No one in their right mind would call him the best, or top 5 or even maybe top 10 HW, but every time he gets in the ring there is a chance for a vicious KO, and like it or not, that is what most people are watching MMA for. EDIT: My bad this was a thread about Tito Ortiz. Well what can I say, Tito kind of carried the company during a transitional period. Chuck Liddell broke the man down twice and that was pretty much the last we heard from him until he was on the cusp of beating Evans(I saw that one in person). I don't think Tito Ortiz is done as a fighter, but I think a change of scenery could be good for him. I wouldn't mind seeing Tito Ortiz mix it up with Frank Shamrock again, or throwing down with Robbie Lawler.......some interesting matchups waiting for him in Elite XC.
  19. I hope Penn wins next month cause I would looooooove to see a Penn/St. Pierre rematch.

    HDTV

Well the thing is, we already have a 46" Toshiba HD TV, so my bargaining chip goes out the window. The TV is about four years old now and there is nothing really wrong with it, pretty kickass for the price I paid, however the way prices have come down, I can get a TV a lot better for about the same price now. If I just let her get the bed now, then when we get our tax return in early 2009, I will have a bigger chunk of change to go out and get a new TV. So it is going to work out.
  21. So when the season ends, do we all need to rejoin, or do does the new season just begin and you are automatically enrolled in your fight camp?
  22. $3.72 for the cheap stuff.
  23. Cabin Boy rules, as does Chris Elliot in general. Grandma's Boy is a hilarious flick that not enough people have seen, although more people seem to be getting around to it considering it comes on HBO all the time.
  24. I do cardio everytime, on the weight-lifting days I use cardio to warmup and then go to weights. On straight cardio days I do an hour to an hour and twenty minutes of cardio. The weight machines usually consist of: biceps, triceps, shoulders, lower back, upper back, chest, leg press, thigh/quad muscle thingy, and I finish with the one where you lay down and use your calf muscles to press the weight. Oh and the machine where there is a long bar on a pulley, and you pull the bar down until you are sitting and then you pull the bar down to shoulder level behind your head. I do three sets of each. I do have a question though. When doing the weight machines, in general is it better to try and do the max amount of reps on the first set even if it means you will end up doing less reps on the next two sets, or is it better to do less reps per set, and do more sets. Example; on the current settings for biceps, if I start with 15 reps, then I usually can only do 12 the next set, and then maybe 8 the last set. However, if I only do 10 reps then I can usually do 10 reps for all three sets...so which is better? Either scenario has me feeling the burn by the end of the three sets, but I am not sure if one technique is better then the other. On a positive note, I went to the store to buy a couple of pairs of shorts and they didn't have the size I usually would buy before the diet & gym, so I just bought the next size down, and when I went home and tried them on, they were loose enough to where I could most likely comfortably fit into the next size down. So that was a good boost of confidence!!!
