I was watching Bill Mahr's show, and they said in Norway I believe it was, that they have levees that can handle a 1 in 10000 year event, and when they originally built it, they came to america to get the technology and knowledge. Well, supposedly Louisiana is aiming for a 1 in 100 year event protection system by 2020......yeah, I don't care how much money was supposedly sent down there, it obviously ended up in the wrong hands.

I'd say Pittsburgh over Cleveland is pretty safe.

I think people got a rise out of Leena's posts a little too much merely because she was a good looking woman. You had two factions. The ones who basically slobbered over her and her every word, and then the complete opposite brigade who would overreact to everything she said because she was a "hot chick invading our board, insulting us" both groups were overly reactionary and comical and it seems apparent if it had been some random dude saying the same things rather then Leena, people would have not reacted much in the same way.....well besides all that "Randall" horseshit, that was kind of annoying.

Rob Zombie to direct next Halloween movie
NoCalMike replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in Television & Film
I think the ironic think about Rob Zombie is how he will interview really well and get a good point across, that being of how Michael Myers has been over-exposed via all the Halloween sequels, and that if he is re-born in a new light, it will make him scary again. That statement right there is just fine and dandy, yet when he puts his vision into action, the only thing he can come up with is to "humanize Michael Myers" I mean COME ON...WTF? How does that make him more scary? -
There is a kick-ass Sushi buffet in town here. It is $17.95 per person, but considering most of the premium rolls are $12-13 a piece, the price is totally worth it. The BEST part of the deal though is that everything is made to order, so it is fresh, no rolls sitting out under a lamp for an hour waiting to be picked up.... You basically open the menu and order anything you want and then they make it and bring it to you. You can order up to 5 rolls at a time.

Looks good. I just hope today's youth weren't soured on this due to the shit-tastic remake of "The Fog" even though it is completely different from this, I am afraid some people will see the "mist" and not be able to decipher....

So it looks like the Whitehouse officials are already spinning the September Report which is likely to be filled with the reality of horribly failed benchmarks by saying, "the benchmarks were unrealistic to begin with" "Ashamed" has never felt like a more appropriate word. Not so much in the President, well yes in the President, but more in the american public for not wanting this guy tarred, feathered, and thrown out of office.

Jason Campbell looked impressive on his only drive of the night.

Rob Zombie to direct next Halloween movie
NoCalMike replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in Television & Film
I liked HOTC for the most part, it was messy, but entertaining. Devils Rejects was good, but it was more 70's exploitation film than Horror flick, which is fine, but the marketing department fucks things up when they try to sell it as a scary movie, and then you have angry movie-goers walking out of the theater saying, "That wasn't scary" -
So anyone besides me been watching Season 3?

Well I thought there was some type of War Profiterring act signed during WW2 that prohibited that kind of stuff.....along with the warning of the Military Industrial Complex that was forming. Also, for more on this subject, check out the movie "Iraq for Sale"

Yes, we have them all over Sacramento. Some feature just the stiry-fry bowls while others, also feature chinese food cuisine.

Because Saddam killed everyone who disagreed with him. He ran a tyrannical dictatorship where either you did exactly what he wanted, or you were shot. Hell, if you were LUCKY you were shot, don't forget him using real live WMDs on his own population. And a SHITLOAD more Iraqis died in the war he led against Iran (unfortunately, with US backing) in the 80's than in every other conflict since then combined. Yes, Turkey and pretty much every other country in the region oppresses the Kurds. No, I don't think that's right. No, Saddam wasn't much of a threat to us. He sure as hell was a threat to his own people and all his immediate neighbors, as the tens of millions of people who'd died in those wars could tell you. It comes down to: do you think it's worth it to try to help other people in shitty countries? I do. Sadly, we've not done a very good job of it, but I don't think that taking Hussein out of power was ever a bad idea. Taking Saddam out of power wasn't a bad idea, however, it should have been led by the Iraqi people with our backing. The way George Bush 41 wanted to do it, but he didn't keep his promise which resulted in the gassing of the Kurds. When the Iraqi people themselves got sick enough of Saddam, and put the Sunni vs. Shia vs. Kurd bullshit aside enough to want to get rid of Saddam, then fine, U.S. forces could have backed them, but the Bush Admin. decided to do it in a totally backwards way.

No one is suprised, but then again, what do you expect when "Democracy" is handed to you by a barrel of a gun?

I think the first step to ending the war though is for the administration to admit not that it was a mistake in the first place(the point has been drilled into our brains by the left, and rendered irrelevent at this point by the right), rather admit that the current course of action is NOT WORKING. Instead of every few months saying, "well it's not that it isn't working, it is that it just needs more time, how much, we have no idea, but more time" Until the consensus is that a military solution in Iraq is not going to work, we are going to be stuck in this kind of limbo where the answer is "well, we just haven't blown enough stuff up yet, give us more time" Bush seems to be acting as if Al Qaeda and other terrorists are all hiding out in a hotel, and we just haven't found that certain hotel yet, but once we do, the war will get better. He still seems to have trouble with the concept that 90% of the violence in Iraq and casualties that our soldiers are taking are not even coming from Al Qaeda, rather Iraqis that are duking it out with each other. Of course, Bush has been trying to blur the line between Iraqis and Al Qaeda from day one anyway.

My friend is up here for my wedding(Yes this Saturday I will be a married man) and he brought his 360 and bought BioShock the other day.....I have played it sparingly, but have mostly been watching, and I have to say, it looks fucking beautiful and it sounds amazing on the surround sound.....after that though, I can't say I am terribly impressed, he has been playing for a few days and next to nothing regards to storyline is being revealed. Neither of us have any clue yet as to why we are doing what we are doing, we just keep getting directions from that guy on the radio to do the next thing. The game also feels a bit repetative, as in, there is nothing he is doing now in the game that is terribly harder or different then what he was doing the first day he bought it. My opinion is probably biased though because I am doing a lot more watching then playing.

It seems at this point that people still supporting this war are never going to support a withdrawl until a hypothetical victory is achieved, whatever that really means. They are actually in one breath saying "we can't pullout because then Iraqis will kill Iraqis" and then with their next breath say things like "lets just nuke the whole place and exterminate those muslims" It really is comical. Also, the comparison to Vietnam has nothing to do with the death totals. It has to do with using the army as police, trying to police a situation and keep the peace. That isn't what an army is for, and it doesn't work.

Has there always been a big difference in the "feel" of Madden between Playstation and Xbox? This is the first Madden I have played on Xbox360 and it just feels like a very different game to me. I am not sure if it is because '08 is different, or if it is because Madden has always played different between the two consoles.

Jason Campbell looked good yesterday until he took the hit to the knee by Kiesel. Looks like the prognosis is just a bruised knee and he should be fine in a few days.....*wipes sweat from forehead*

Well hell, pretty much every media outlet has made a pretty successful network out of doing just that. EFA Haha, I guess I can't disagree with that.

We pay about $100 per month for DISH Network. We have the "Everything Pak" which includes all the premium channels and digital music channels and local channels. Also, whenever a new channel is added we are going to get it. We also have a Dual Tuner DVR Box which is covered in the cost. The only thing we don't have yet is the HD DVR box, but right now I am going with quanity over quality. Meaning I'd rather have all the channels then have to cut the channel amount in half in order to have a select few in HD. In time I will get the HD Box though.
