Any word on the ROH card?
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Angle was in the WWF when the Steve Austin crucifixion happened. Didn't that happen early in '99? I thought Angle joined in late '99. Well unless Kurt Angle is only offended by RELIGIOUS imagry, because WWE has done plenty of stuff that could be considered in awgul taste since Angle has been around. Technically Angle wasn't "In ECW" when they did it either, he was just there as a guest.

For people that are going to movie hop: Hey it's cool, I used to do it as a youth all the time, but listen up, when you come into the theater I am in, because you need a place to hideout for 10-20 mins, please STFU while you are in there, if not, then basically expect someone to rat you out. Also, some arthouse theaters play some movies with the intention for film noir fans to come together for a night of fun heckling at the big movie screen(www.trashfilmorgy.com), so for the love of god, please be funny when you yell your joke out at the top of your lungs......I remember during a screening of The ReAnimator in 2004, it was right before the Presidential Election and someone kept referring to the professor as John Kerry....it was funny the first few times, but after while it was tiresome.

Washington's defense will be good because they have a good running game, but they also lost a lot of things in the past couple years that necessitated them picking up Fletcher (who has been pretty much invisible since his Rams years), Smoot (who left and just came back), and Springs (who was there to replace the departing Champ Bailey). If Jason Campbell can keep going at a good pace, I think they are very likely to win the NFC East this year. But they'll be benefitting more from the fact that the Giants are already riddled with injuries, the Cowboys defense is awful, and that the Eagles don't seem to have much going for them in the way of offense, and McNabb's due for his yearly injury which would usher in a rookie QB to play the rest of the way. Man, am I ever happy the NFC North got the NFC East and AFC West this year, well except for the Chargers. Either way, you'll find out for yourself October 14th at Lambeau. London Fletcher was signed because there has been a void at the MLB position ever since Antonio Pierce went to the Giants, and I would hardly call Fletcher invisible, as he has been a tackling machine. Shawn Springs is a quality #1 corner, but he is old and has injury issues, and the coaching staff has already talked of resting for small periods during the game to keep him fresh. Smoot, well Smoot is Smoot, he has his ups and downs. He is not nearly as good for as much trash he talks, but he is still solid for a #2 CB. Laron Landry will likely shore up a secondary that suffered last year because Sean Taylor at FS was not being used like a true FS due to our rotation of SS's sucking ass. Now Taylor will be free to play the mid and deep zones to ball hawk, the way he was used in 2004/5. The D-line is solid at stopping the run, but still might have issues at getting to opposing QBs without the help of LBers. Andre Carter came on strong during the last quarter of the season in 2005, and picked up right where he left off, getting a sack on Trent Green and collapsing the pocket consistently. I don't expect the defense to be at it's 2004 level, but it can definately repeat 2005's performance. Oh and as far as the game @ Green Bay.....at least it is in October and not December

Robocop 2 can be summed in one line..."Wheeeere iiiiiiiisssss Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaain?" I dunno that scene in the arcade is hilarious to me

Well, if all you watched was the last two minutes of the game on MNF, then yeah that comment is justified, however for the first three and a half quarters, the Niners offense was MISERABLE.
-
Well my comment on Washington's Defense compared to Green Bay was based on more then Week 1 performances. Two out of the last three years Washington has had a Defense in the Top 10, and in the offseason they added London Fletcher, Fred Smoot, Shawn Springs and Marcus Washington got healthy, and they drafted Laron Landry(who is one of the favs for rookie defensive player of the year)who has become an immediate starter.

It seems like the media is really spinning the Petraeus report as the gosphel, even though they reported beforehand that the Whitehouse was basically writing the report and he was just reporting it. I hate how the headlines are so misleading like "Bush will approve troop level cuts" It makes it sound like a drawback when all it really is, is approving pre-surge levels, in a year from now, and even that is ONLY if they feel conditions on the ground have improved. Of course this is all before Bush changes his mind once again what "victory" means.

Redskins @ Eagles is a hard game to pick. Eagles Defense is good enough to give a young QB fits, but the Redskins will probably pound the rock down their throats in order to limit Campbell's 3rd and long situations. Campbell didn't particularly have a good game last week, but it wasn't bad either. He showed why he only has seven starts, but also showed enough to believe he will be something special in the future. To me the Wildcard is Philly's offense. Was it just rust against the Packers, because I know the Redskins defense is a hell of a lot better then Green Bays, or is McNabb finally losing too many of the weapons he has had in the past...!?! Who knows, but my burgandy & gold blinders are enough to have me pick the Skins this week.... Redskins 20 Eagles 17

Iraq doesn't need to be compared to Vietnam in order to be considered a failure. Comparisons can be made, and I wish people would look past the number of casualties when analyzing a war. The war in Iraq is an occupation/police action. It is the policy itself that is the similar in Vietnam. In other words: BAD POLICY If you want a reason the casualities are different, you can first look to the fact that our air power pretty much went in and decimated Baghadad before the troops were sent in. Then the fact that we aren't fighting an army, in fact we aren't really fighting at all, in other words our army is being used as police, we are in the middle of a civil war with both sides shooting at us as well as each other. This entire "surge is working" rhetoric is a bunch of bullshit. Casualties are down, but the number of attacks themselves are up and lets not even get into what this administration has stopped considering a "battlefield casualty" Also, the purpose of the surge, or so they said was to cut down the violence in order to advance the political process, where has there been any examples of this happening? It seems that the administration has just once again cherry picked some statistics about casualities in order to the lay the ground work for a continued escalation of the war, which is really what the word "surge" means anyway. The war itself is not as bad as Vietnam, but it's implications and what it will possibly spawn will put us in more danger in the future then the outcome of Vietnam did. The truth of the matter is that in 2005 we were told that there was over 100,000 Iraqi police forces ready to go, so why in the fuck could those iraqi police and army members be used as the 30,000 needed for the surge?

Hilarious how Sandman points to the hypocrisy, that when Vince does the same thing, the "outrage" from Angle is missing.
-
I like pick'ems and survivor games, but fantasy football itself has worn out it's welcome with me.
-
Well that will be the least of it, who wants to make a bet that they ignore the fact that their defense gave up over 400 yards of offense to the NY Giants and once the NFL Week 2 preview shows kick up around Thursday, Dallas will still be called a "Top Defense"
-
Even with the Giants probably losing tonight, at least earlier they were keeping it respectable enough for the media to pipe down about OMG!!COWBOYS2007SBCHAMPS!!THEY:heart:WADEPHILLIPS-ROMO-MANIA!!! for a week or so. Now the Giants need to punch in this TD and maybe throw another FG up to keep the media quiet......Damn though the Giants can't cover the middle of the field.
-
Dallas' defense is overrated. Yes I know there is no Terrence Newman in there tonight, but Dallas' D-line is not getting much pressure without the help of blitzing LBers, and even then not much, and the Cowboys ability to cover the deep zone of the field is not very good.
-
What an undisciplined play that was by the Cowboys....thank gawd Parcells retired.
-
I love how Romo fumbles a snap, and suddenly the league has to change the rules about the ball substituting, as if Romo is the first person to ever handle a slick ball.....
-
Well the Redskins win on opening day in a game that could have gone either way. I think this has been the case the last five or so years.
-
I'll use spoiler tags since I am not sure what exactly has aired where..... Great Show!!!

Redskins 24 Dolphins 13

All signs point to a YAY on that, but as a Redskins fan, NFC East divisional games scare the shit outta me with their unpredictablity
