  1. Since it looks like Sandman & Sabu or as good as gone soon, then my only hope is that RVD has saved enough money through his WWE years that when it comes time to either leave or re-up, money won't have to be the #1 consideration. RVD is basically a lameduck. Everything that can be said about his situation has been discussed. We all know the writing on the wall with him. Either he leaves and goes to TNA for a fresh start, or he re-ups and maybe gets a quasi-push out of appreciation and then once again gets de-pushed and used as a job-toy everything Stephanie thinks she has found the "next big extremist" It's RVD's decision in the end, but BAH GAWD, I hope he gets the fuck out of dodge, because as a fan of his, I am so fucking tired of seeing him wasted.
  2. The worst part is, I bet that white dude dresses like that everyday anyway.

  4. I haven't even checked my local Game Stop lately, but chances are they have some, sitting around, as people walk by.....
  5. Anyone watch the preview/countdown show last night? Pretty good stuff.
  6. It seems evident over the last half of the season, that Marcel is probably the most knowledgable and talented guy there, however he also uses that to his disadvantage sometimes when he tries to get to adventurous and loses focus and it causes his dishes to be merely good, when they could be great. I've also learned from this show how vague the term "line cook" can be, because on one hand you have Ilan who is labeled as a line cook, but he actually seems to have knowledge and skill that would suggest he actually does some chef work, and then you have Michael who is also a line cook, however he pretty much examplifies what you would find at applebees or Chilis, a guy who basically just turns and burns.
  7. I read somewhere that this place has been closed down since the documentary was aired. I think the documentary "Deliver Us from Evil" might be even more depressing, because it deals with the catholic church and all the covering up it did when faced with molestation allegations. I would link to a trailer, but for some reason everywhere that has/had a link, the link is now broken.
  8. Well my mom is throwing in 5k, and her fioncee is throwing in 1k for beer/alcohol(unless we don't have that stuff, then it is just for whatever). The thing is, my mom could technically afford to pay for it outright, but she is kind of a traditionalist in the sense that the bride's parents are the ones that are supposed to contribute to the wedding, and since she has my sister's wedding to "pay" for in the future, she was still nice enough to offer the money she did and my girlfriend's parents, as of yet, they are not helping out, but it isn't because they object to the wedding or anything, but I just don't think they have the money. They don't exactly live check to check, but I don't think they have much left over for savings.....It is just that they kind of live above their means as far as their house and cars go...sort of...I guess....
  9. Here's RVD at an E3 convention doing an interview. Man, if WWE would just let him be himself for promos. He comes off so much more natural here..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWnxJfxV4vc Here's RVD on Off the Record Part 1 with Michael Landsburg....RVD on Off the Record!!! Part 2 Part 3 Oh and how about: Rob Zakowski vs. Zuboo from 1991 NEWF(before they were "extreme") Part 1 Part 2 The tape from inside the police car of RVD getting pulled over and busted for speeding and pot... Dude...I so thought it was 65mph...
  10. In honor of Bam Bam and his ECW run....RVD Challenges Bigelow for the ECW TV Title in Buffalo, NY ...Bill Alphonso is also great here.
  11. Quite a few times via M. Bison. Marble Madness, because you would see the time running down and try to get stupid and take shortcuts and the ball would fall over the edge....
  12. So as you all know by now from reading earlier blog(s), I am getting married in August. So after some quick research and reference checking, we have settled on a place to get married and the photographer. Here is the place.... http://www.greatoccasionschapelandgardens.com/index.html I forgot the name of the photographer, the package gets us 300 pictures(film) plus an album, and an engagement photo that I guess we will put in one of those matted frames where people can sign some "cutesy" statements on....whatever.... So yeah, the place is nice, not over the top, and we certainly found more elaborate places, but we decided to work with a 10k budget, that way we can pay for the wedding all in cash, and not have to worry about going into debt for a one-day event. Plus, the ceremony itself is about 1/16th of the total cost, and will barely take 20-30 minutes. It's really the reception where the money and planning and overall time is put into, and the place works with Hannibal's catering(yeah, haha HANNIBAL) which was ranked #1 caterer of Sacramento. We are also thinking of getting a harpist, which would play all the wedding march music, for only $250, seems reasonable enough, plus it would probably sound a little nicer then just having a CD played over the PA system.... I am 90% sure we are doing the outside garden ceremony and reception, since the garden will be in full boom, and there is more space. The place also will do a cake for you via a bakery they work with, but it would come out to $400 for the amount of guests we are having, and we can probably get it for cheaper, but who knows. We get to have tastings with the bakery and with Hannibals, we just have to call and set them up.... So yeah, we still haven't even looked into flowers/floral arrangements yet, but since the reception will be in the evening, we are thinking of doing a lot of candles on the table rather then an obscene amount of flowers......
  13. Me and my friend used to get frustrated with Contra games because you would just beat some super bad-ass boss, and then immediately get killed at the beginning of the next level by some mere grunt's stray bullet........
  14. Breakfast: Nothing Lunch: Leftover Chinese Dinner: Probably Leftover Chinese
  15. Yeah, really. What are Migas? It's really supposed to be a breakfast dish, but when neither of us feel like making a full on dinner we make it. It is corn tortillas, eggs, and cheese all kind of mixed. You tear up corn tortillas into about 2 inch pieces(just tear with hand) Toss in pan Crack some eggs over the tortilla pieces, and mix around Once the tortilla pieces start to get brown and crisp(to your tasting) add shredded cheeses and mix in. How many eggs/cheese is really up to you, everyone likes it different. I also like to add hot sauce......
  16. And just to get us MORE confident in free and fair election processes in 2008....... http://news.bostonherald.com/politics/view...rticleid=179006 Ohio election workers convicted of rigging ’04 presidential recount By Associated Press Wednesday, January 24, 2007 - Updated: 07:55 PM EST CLEVELAND - Two election workers were convicted Wednesday of rigging a recount of the 2004 presidential election to avoid a more thorough review in Ohio’s most populous county. Jacqueline Maiden, elections coordinator of the Cuyahoga County Elections Board, and ballot manager Kathleen Dreamer each were convicted of a felony count of negligent misconduct of an elections employee. They also were convicted of one misdemeanor count each of failure of elections employees to perform their duty. Prosecutors accused Maiden and Dreamer of secretly reviewing preselected ballots before a public recount on Dec. 16, 2004. They worked behind closed doors for three days to pick ballots they knew would not cause discrepancies when checked by hand, prosecutors said. Defense attorney Roger Synenberg has said the workers were following procedures as they understood them. Ohio gave President Bush the electoral votes he needed to defeat Democratic Sen. John Kerry in the close election and hold on to the White House in 2004. Special prosecutor Kevin Baxter did not claim the workers’ actions affected the outcome of the election - Kerry gained 17 votes and Bush lost six in the county’s recount. Maiden and Dreamer, who still work for the elections board, face a possible sentence of six to 18 months for the felony conviction. Sentencing is on Feb. 26. A message left for Elections Board Director Michael Vu was not immediately returned Wednesday. The board released a statement that said its goal is to restore confidence in the county’s election progress and pursue reforms in addition to those made since 2004.
  17. The commentating during that match is a prime example of why the WWE can't get mid-card guys over and/or build new stars, because they act as if they have more important stuff to talk about then the action going on in the ring.
  18. Why hasn't the Maxx Payne doc been released yet? Is it because legal matters have not been solved, or has it been shelved, and likely never to be released?
  19. No. Awhile back Meltzer reported that Vince's displeasure with Styles "calling the matches" continued, even into the new ECW, so Styles just said "fuck it" and decided to do play by play the way Vince wanted....
  20. Tonight's episode was pretty great. And hey, I actually went to bravotv.com afterwards to watch the aftershow and they answered my email!!!

    Boxing Thread

Not only is he back but he is already drowning in controversy. I guess it looks likely that he will be automatically given a Title Shot vs. Maskaev since he retired as the CHAMP, but at the same time Samuel Peter won the right for the title fight by beating Toney, so Peter and his camp are pissed off now about the situation.... http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/ne...tory?id=2741234 Former heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, who retired days before a title defense against Hasim Rahman in November 2005 because of a knee injury, is planning to return to the ring. Gene Blevins/WireImage.com Former WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has been cleared to continue his boxing career after a two-year hiatus. "I've been back in the gym for a couple of weeks and I feel great," Klitschko said in a statement. "My injuries have healed and after much hard work, and with the approval of the doctors, I am cleared to continue my boxing career." Klitschko (35-2, 34 KOs) hasn't fought since making his only title defense against Danny Williams, a bloody eighth-round knockout in Las Vegas on Dec. 11, 2004. Klitschko was stopped in the sixth round by Lennox Lewis in June 2003, when Lewis opened a horrific cut over Klitschko's eye. Lewis later retired and Klitschko knocked out Corrie Sanders in April 2004 to win the vacant belt. When he retired, Klitschko vacated his title, which interim titlist Rahman inherited and subsequently lost to Oleg Maskaev. Now, Klitschko said he is back for his belt. "I am returning to the ring to get my WBC heavyweight championship back," said Klitschko, who mounted an unsuccessful run for mayor of Kiev in his native Ukraine during his retirement. "In November 2005, due to a serious knee injury, I retired without having lost the WBC belt in the ring. At the WBC gala event on Dec. 20, 2005 in Cancun, Mexico, the WBC designated me as 'WBC Champion Emeritus' and assured me that whenever I was ready to return, I would become the immediate mandatory challenger for the title. "I'm back, and I have requested that the WBC sanction a bout between me and Oleg Maskaev. I look forward to reclaiming my title, and want to thank everyone who has been so supportive during my short retirement from the ring." There is talk that a Maskaev-Klitschko bout could be staged in Moscow on April 21. The WBC has yet to rule on whether it will install Klitschko, 35, as the immediate mandatory challenger for Maskaev, but it expected to approve Maskaev-Klitschko. If it does, it probably will have a lawsuit on its hands from No. 1 contender Samuel Peter. Peter twice defeated James Toney in official elimination fights. He won the first bout in September, but a rematch was ordered when the WBC upheld Toney's appeal of the split decision loss. On Jan. 6, Peter again defeated Toney, this time on a lopsided decision. For both fights, Peter paid a sanction fee, yet no title fight was ordered. "It's a disgrace. I fought my way into this position without taking shortcuts," said Peter, who is demanding that the WBC uphold his mandatory rights. "I paid my sanctioning fees not once, but twice. I wasn't even supposed to fight the second time, but people were questioning the judges, so I fought again to prove myself. "They're trying to take away everything I worked for all those years. I'm No. 1 and they're going to have a very big problem if they allow this. They are putting their own hands in the fire and making a big mistake." Maskaev has made no secret that he is avoiding Peter, instead looking for more significant paydays. After Maskaev knocked out Rahman in August to win the title, promoter Dennis Rappaport secured an exception to his mandatory obligation, and Maskaev easily defeated obscure Peter Okhello in December in Moscow. Rappaport tried to make a fight with Evander Holyfield and then tried to make a unification match between Maskaev and Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali's younger brother who holds the IBF heavyweight title. When that fight didn't materialize -- both beltholders had mandatory defenses to make -- Rappaport looked to Vitali, who had the promise of a title fight if he returned. It has angered Peter. "Why did he [Vitali Klitschko] wait till I beat Toney the second time to say he was coming back? Why not announce before? Because he's not a true champion," Peter said. "He got his title when Lennox Lewis retired. And now he wants to fight Maskaev, who is also not a true champion because he's avoiding me. Let me go against Maskaev and I'll knock him out and then I'll knock out both Klitschko brothers on the same night." "I am returning to the ring to get my WBC heavyweight championship back." -- Former heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko Dino Duva, who co-promotes Peter with Don King, is also upset that Peter might be passed over for a title shot. "From the standpoint of Vitali personally, I respect him and we wish him the best and if he comes back, we hope the injuries that forced his retirement are really healed, so that he may continue his career," Duva said. "However any thought or mention of him or anyone else trying to step in front of Samuel Peter's path to the title is very dangerous legally and financially for anyone who goes there. We will not stand by and allow Samuel Peter's rights to be violated." Dan Rafael is the boxing writer for ESPN.com. Vitali Klitschko career highlights • July 19, 1971: Born in Kyrgyzstan. Brother Vladimir born five years later. Both go on to attain PhDs in sports science and hold versions of the world heavyweight title. • Nov. 16, 1996: Makes professional debut in Hamburg, knocking out Tony Bradham of the U.S. in the second round. • May 2, 1998: Wins WBO Intercontinental title with a fifth round TKO of Dick Ryan of the United States. • Oct. 24, 1998: Wins European heavyweight title with second-round knockout win against fellow German Mario Schiesser. Defends title twice. • June 26, 1999: Wins WBO world title in London with second-round knockout victory over England's Herbie Hide. • April 1, 2000: After two successful defenses, loses WBO world title with a 10th-round TKO by Chris Byrd of the United States. • Jan. 27, 2001: Wins WBA intercontinental title with TKO in first round against Orlin Norris of United States. • June 21, 2003: Loses WBC world title fight against Lennox Lewis of Britain, via a TKO in the sixth round, after sustaining a cut eye. • April 24, 2004: Wins WBC world heavyweight title with a TKO eighth-round win over Corrie Sanders of South Africa. • Dec. 11, 2004: Successfully defends WBC title with TKO eighth-round win over Britain's Danny Williams in Las Vegas. • 2005: Forced to pull out of scheduled defense against Hasim Rahman because of knee injury sustained in training bout. Undergoes surgery and retires with a professional record of 35 wins in 37 fights. ----------------------------------------------------------- Personally, if I am Vitali, why not just keep training and assuming Peter/Maskaev happens in early 2007(meaning at least by the end of Spring) then just wait for conclusion of that fight and take on whoever is champ. I think Vitali could beat Maskaev, and at least hang with Peter, but the thing with Peter is he has the raw Power to knock out anyone in the division right now, he just needs to become accurate and learn how to hone in on how to deliver punches, rather then just swinging wildly towards his opponent.
  22. shut up. had timberlake came into music with a clean slate (no n'sync or other boy band allegances) i can almost gaurentee you'd all be more willing to give him more credit. and yes, for pop musical, sexyback is certainly unconventional. look at superjerk, ahem, damning indictment of the use "yeah". or how it stutter steps its way through barely audible & distorted lyrics. the production style of this song, with a blanket of electronic surges, deconstructs the popiness of it, not unlike when my bloody valentine added an additonal layer of distortion to beautiful pop music. it made it less accessible but equally enjoyable to the listener who wants to put in the time. now, don't say i am comparing this song to my bloody valentine. but this song did straddle the line between conventional & unconventional. arguably radio has never had anything like it. and there'll be plenty of imitators in the future. and you want to know why? because people who enjoy this type of music LOVED it. the cynical & overly self-conscious music snobs will easily dismiss it. which is fine. but, don't be ignorant enough to call it the worst song of the year. i guess playful sex & angry love is only acceptable whenever rock band does it. Well since Justin Timberlake probably had nothing to do with composing the actual music, and is just the face behind other people's creativity, that still leaves us with a twit that will be prancing around on stage while the song plays over a PA system in the background.
  23. Maybe the writers watched RAW and realized in WWE, you aren't supposed to have strong heels, so they made sure to have Test job clean before the Rumble.
  24. Mods should consider pinning this thread....... Lunch: Chicken w/ Wild Rice Soup Dinner: Migas
  25. Decent show tonight. Ariel looking good as usual. The battle royal was about as good as a five man BR on a one hour show can be, but really there were other guys in the back probably that they could have used, or at least had it go longer, and have a shorter expose(or not have one at all). CM Punk vs. Burke was pretty good and it was nice that they resisted the predictable finish of DQ via Striker interference. Does anyone else think maybe Styles and Strikers got yelled at during the match from someone in the back? At the beginning of the match, both were jawing back and forth with remarks, pretty funny stuff, and then all of the sudden they were both quiet and Striker hardly ever spoke the rest of the match. Weird. The Main Event was well, what we all expected. I was really hoping RVD would interfere, making it a Three-way at the Rumble, because I don't see the fans being into Lashley or Test at all, and even if RVD jobbed, at least the crowd would be somewhat into it because RVD was involved. I am not sure why they even had this match tonight. Seems there were other options they could have gone with.
