New Job Tomorrow...Used car purchased.
NoCalMike posted a blog entry in NoCalMike's Blog-Schmlog....
So I am not sure if I mentioned this in the forums, but tomorrow I start a new job as a vocational skills trainer. Basically this company works with the handicapped and they contract out work that they can handle/do, so when they get a contract, they train me and other trainers on how to do the job and then I train the folks that will be doing the job. When I worked at a Target warehouse I remember some handicapped folks would be bused in once or twice a week to open those old plastic mechanisms that CDs used to be put it....so I am sure that is an example of something I would be training people to do, although each job would be varying in how easy or difficult it is. This isn't a temp job, which is good, and my hiring supervisor said she is looking for someone to grow with the company and encourages me to look for other job listing within the company if I see something I like that better suits me in the future...... Oh and we ended up getting a 2004 Chevy Venture Van. Yeah I know, Chevys are shit blah blah fucking blah, well it only had 24k miles on it, and it was a leased car which gives it a pretty clean bill of health. We had a DVD player put in it the other day, so yea we pimped our ride......I could have bought a used foreign car that "runs forever" but they all had 80k or more miles on them, which means you could probably start running into other issues besides just the engine..... -
Hmm...no more commenting on your breasts, seeing that you will be married lady.

Cause they usually test run the bits in various comedy clubs to make sure the bits work. By then, other comedians have heard the bit and if that comedian is famous, it'll be on TV before a copyright can even be filed. And Carlos got Joe banned from the Comedy Store. Nice. Looks like Rogan wasn't kidding, Carlos has HOLLYWOOD POWERS! It's not so much "hollywood powers" as it is a small club owner having a guy like Mencia, who sells out the place, not wanting him exposed for being a fraud and having people not pay to see him anymore.

FOX News planning right-leaning show similar to Daily Show
NoCalMike replied to DerangedHermit's topic in Current Events
That was fucking pathetic. I am not even a watcher of The Daily Show although I have seen it on ocassion, but from my memory, it isn't a vehicle for the political ideology in anyway and tends to make fun of anyone who happens to do and/or say something stupid. To go even further, I'd say the Daily Show makes more fun on politicians' poor play on words and usage of words in the inappropriate and/or absurd way rather then someone's politics, in other words, "hey everyone, watch this guy say something kooky" yet this Fox News thing is basically a smarmy retort to something that wasn't even directed towards politics in the first place. -
No it doesn't. You don't turn on RAW to see weapons, chairs, tables etc.....it isn't that kind of show. Back when ECW was at it's PEAK, WWE wasdoing just fine as far as business goes, WWE was getting very good ratings while not being 1/4th as violent as ECW. Two different brands, two different kinds of shows, that is what I am asking for. Also, I am talking about specific workers like Sabu, The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer. Those guys built their CAREER on wrestling a certain way, and now Vince is more concerned with his ludicrous vision of what ECW should be, all the while you have plenty of violence and Brawly matches on RAW on a weekly basis because Vince knows it gets over with the fans, but because RAW is the "A" show, it's fine and dandy to use the violence and weapons as a means to excite the fans. And for the thousandth time, "Extreme Rules" didn't always necessarily mean the match would have weapons. In fact, MOST of the time it merely meant there were no stupid countouts, so if the wrestlers wanted to brawl outside of the ring, they could without having to worry about getting back into the ring in 10 seconds. A lot of people that make these striking generalizations about the old ECW have really got me questioning just how much of the real ECW they have actually seen, and I'm not talking about WWE-released DVDs.

They probably SHOULD, but my guess is that they don't really write entire bits down on paper, maybe just some cues and/or notes to remind them of what jokes they are going to do, that way when they are performing it doesn't give off a "reading a script" vibe. I mean good comedy, a lot of the times is more then just the jokes itself, the delivery, stage presence, gimmick stuff like that helps and/or hurts.

Here is a clip of Dane Cook stealing Louis CK's material http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nh_xfJZxvto Here is a clip of Joe Rogan on Howard Stern's show contronting the owner of a comedy club, not sure if it The Comedy Store or not....regarding Carlos Mencia/Dane Cook and others stealing jokes....towards the middle of the clip they talk about when Lopez kicked Mencia's ass and choked him for stealing his bits. The engineers on the Stern show actually play the above clip during this audio clip...right about the middle of the clip. http://media.putfile.com/Joe-Rogan-Exposes-Joke-Thieves

Well here's some problems right off the bat. Sandman is missing his Cane Dreamer is missing his "innovator of violence" weaponry Sabu is missing tables/chairs/everything else gimmick. (Among every other original losing their gimmick along the way too) Vince is having guys that built their careers on brawling garbage wrestling, try to wrestle straight matches over and over and over again. It was funny THAT ONE TIME in ECW when Raven challenged Sandman to a straight wrestling match and Sandman pulled off some moves because it was unexpected, not to mention Stevie Richard's hilarious commentary, but it makes no sense really. If ANYTHING, this ECW Originals vs. New Breed should be based on the style CONTRADICTION, and the two different schools of thought. It should be the Originals garbage/brawly style vs. The New Breed's "refined, wrestling craftmanship" (of course that would require actual good workers) Kind of like Taz in ECW "I don't need weapons, my hands are my weapons" vs. Sabu the Homicidal Suicidal Genocidal blah blah, take the gimmick of THAT MATCH(well minus the emotion and endless buildup), and apply it to the Originals vs. New Breed feud, and it would improve this TENFOLD When people think of Dreamer/Sandman/Sabu they think of weapons, chairs, tables, barbwire etc...not restholds, punches and kicks. You don't even have to have the Originals go over in every match, but at least it would improve the quality of the matches and give the fans the entertainment they thought they were going to get when they were told "Sandman/Sabu/Dreamer/RVD wrestling tonight on ECW" I still find irony in how much chairs and tables etc etc are used on RAW, yet supposedly McMahon hates it all, but is willing to let the A-show do it because it gets over.

Snitsky is just fucking terrible. He was never any good, but his new look ala "I'm bald and on roids...hey check out my acne" is just fucking disgusting.

California Championship Wrestling pre-view for 2/24/07!

So with all the debate today in the House over the War, the republicans still seem to be using the line, "If we leave, they will follow us" I'd really like them to clarify who "they" are. They keep getting away with this and other similar phrases, but it has been shown for the last year or so that foreign fighters in Iraq aren't even the main problem it is the Iraqis themselves, the civil war that our soldiers are in the middle of. No one is talking about leaving Afganistan, especially considering the job isn't done there either. I'd just like Republicans to clarify who "they" are, that are going to come over here because we choose to get out of the middle of Iraq's civil war. This thinking is baffling. Did these guys forget that it was what 19 highjackers on 9/11? Not an entire country or city or even tribe. It was 19 people. It is silly to think 19 more people couldn't be rounded up to do it again merely because we are in Iraq and/or Afganistan. Not to mention the majority didn't come from EITHER of those countries. None of these countries declared war on America. If there are people in these countries that want to kill us, which there surely is, then go after them and root them out and kill them, but if Iraq model shows us anything, it is ridiculous to just declare war on a country(oh yeah and claim you are liberating them) when the real enemy is such a small faction of people.

Well the Home Theater receiver I have has the speaker connectors where they are the red and black knobs that you twist the speaker wire into.......Is there any special speaker wire for this type of connection or would you just use standard wire and spin the shit in there?

I wonder what Arrington's future is. His best days are clearly behind him as another surgery is about to take place. This one being an achilles which means even if he is back in 2007, he won't be at full speed, so just figure Arrington to be ready in 2008. He left Washington in bad terms, blaming coaches for not "playing him right" and after claming the entire season he wanted to be a "Redskin for life" and how he "couldn't imagine playing anywhere else" and would "Retire if he was traded" went on to BUY OUT the remainder of his contract. So he ends up in New York and it took him all of three weeks before that same noise about blaming the coaches started coming out of his mouth up there too, and then the freak injury happens and gets cut.... So we have a 7 year vet that can't stay on the field on a consistent basis, that constantly throws his coaches under the bus..... Any takers?

Not as much as they think. Keeping it as an in-home things would eliminate any loss they would suffer in clubs, they wouldn't lose the southern drinkers and the only sales that would really get hurt is by people who just want to sit around at home. I think the steep hill could be made a little smaller if the legalization crowd would seperate itself from some of the bigger idiots. It needs to find a way to help the public understand they are not advocating use to children and public use. Better explanation is needed or the movement is never going to get on the first step of the hill. That's like asking anti-Iraq War activists to try and ban pacifists and anarchists from participating in the marches. You have to draw the line somewhere with the american people to be able to judge an argument on merit and not have their opinion swayed over a small group of clowns that crash the party. I know it's tough for some to understand, but Cheech & Chong types aren't the brunt of the pro-legalization movement.

There are various problems. Mixing non-violent(mostly drug offenders, for yes, mere possession) that are there for mandatory minimums(which is an entire other level of bullshit)with violent criminals convicted of rape, murder etc. Prison guards that look the other way. Another one is the fact that prisons are now starting to be privately owned and they get contracted out to companies like Microsoft to put together microchips and airlines to book flight reservations. Not only is this crazy because you are sharing private secured information with convicted felons, but also it means the Prison or better yet the owner of the Prison(Barbara Bush for example) has a VESTED INTEREST in keeping prisons full of cheap labor for the corporations to make profits off of. If you are a lifer, or on a 20+ year sentence you are in an entire other category, but lets say for instance you are there on a 2 year sentence. In that case, prison is supposed to be the place to rehabilitate you to make you a better person for when you return to society, not a place to get raped, beat up, and harassed on a daily basis in order to make you a colder person when you get out of there. Living in a cell, without your freedom is plenty punishment enough. I don't think Chocolate pudding, or Cable television makes up for living in a cell for a couple of years of your life. People wonder why there are so many repeat offenders.

Dr. Fünke’s 100% Natural Good-Time Family-Band Wrestling Observer Note

Am i the only one who's surprised by this? I mean, it was an ok match for Cena/Umaga, but damn! 4 stars? I never understand Meltzer's star ratings, because whenever I listen to WOL it seems he shits all over the matches and says how awful they were, but his star ratings never reflect what he says about the match. Meltzer was very positive on WOL towards the Cena-Umaga match. It was a good match, better than a lot of people expected, and it told a great story. Yeah, sorry, I wasn't pointing to that match in particular, just in general. My bad. -
From the looks of the pic, Leena has those nice banana tits that kind of hang down but perk up at the end. Of course, everything is deceiving under clothes.

Regardless of whether the Police are a supergroup or not, they will surely be the most entertaining act on the stage tomorrow night. Still haven't made up my mind if I want to sit the show just to see them though.

Wow, those are pretty goddamn good seats. Congrats on that!!!

Someone also told me once that he has a different standard for rating WWE/WWF matches because it is a different style of wrestling. -
This thread reminds me of Harry Knowles "DVD Picks for<insert date here>" articles. I mean, we all get that he is a movie geek and enjoys a vast array of cinema, but I swear, the guy just buys movies to try and make himself look more knowledgable then everyone else. Some of the commentary he gives about why is buying the movie is so atrocious.

Higher wages might happen because the company would no longer be paying insurance premiums to you. I mean you do realize that you only get a few bucks a week taken out of your check because the company is picking up the $200/month real-life cost right? So if there was national healthcare, that cost to the company leaves, which might(but not necessarily) translate into higher wages because they would no longer pay for your healthcare, which would be a huge burden off a company. Health Insurance(among most other insurance) is a scam anyway. Sure, we all pay our pennies into our company premium, and yes if we get a minor injury it will be covered, but just wait until something major happens, and like everything else, it will come down to who you work for, how much the company is paying for your premium, and watch your ass be denied coverage. The insurance industry will find some type of loophole or fine print somewhere, eventually, to get out of covering you, that is what their lawyers do best. A lot of our costs are due to the uninsured not going to the doctor/hospital for the quick simple injuries, because of the out of pocket expenses. So they don't go until the injury is unbearable, in which time they still can't and don't pay for it, and the cost just gets passed along anyway.
