Nunzio. He rolled up Akio when the latter was arguing with the ref regarding a pinfall count.
-
Is anybody else actually watching the PPV besides Chris? Edit: Question answered.

^ Remeniscent of the brawl in January before New Year's Revolution, though that was before the big title match and not after.
-
Has Orlando beaten anyone since he won the title? I mean having the U.S. champion seemingly lose every match (non-title or not) just makes the belt look weak especially when compared to the IC title whose holder is the verge of having the longest reign in 17 years. I thought Jindrak was a face? Well, at least it'll come across well on TV.

If bad writing is what the bookers use to get people to leave/retire then they've done a dismal job. (see Heidenreich and Mark Henry) Besides which, the storyline on Smackdown hurts Angle more than it does Booker. The latter looks like he's just defending his wife while Kurt seems to have become a pervert.
-
Agreed. They could just bring up their past history (trading the WCW title, Angle being the one who got Booker on Smackdown, their alliance against John Cena) compare their accomplishments (both are 5 time world champions), and present them as two competitive rivals, but their instead its based around Sharmell. Plusthe whole "rape" thing seems more than a little out of character for Angle.

Mick Foley Chris Candido (if you count TNA) Terry Funk Scott Hall Dusty Rhodes Terry Gordy Steve Williams All in the first four mentioned (NWA, WWF/E, WCW, ECW) -
I would comment more but due to the lack of daylight savings time here, I see Smackdown an hour later than everybody else.

That's what I like about Smackdown storylines. Faces and Heels aren't immediately allies; instead most of them look out for themselves or close allies, ie stables or tag teams.

The Booker/Eddie vs. RVD/Rey match was taped on December 28, 2004 and aired on the 30th, so its not elligible, which is a shame as it was a hell of a match.

He's still got to get into January to break Honky Tonk Man's record though. If there's any WWWFE record that's still reachable without changing history, it might be that one. Yeah, unless WWE makes some major changes, I don't see anybody breaking that. Not that Shelton needs to, because being the longest running IC champion in over 15 years sounds pretty damn impressive. -

Orton won on December 14, so take 2 more days away, so it's 210. Benjamin is at 193 at the end of April, so he'll tie him on the 17th and would pass him on the 18th. Barring any title changes happening on a house show he's got two more RAWs to go to surpass my least favorite IC Champ ever. EDIT: I had to fix Orton's stats as the site I went to listed the wrong day that he lost. Sorry. If he can hold it till July 12, he'll beat Rock's reign. -

Those stud muffins were pining over the JV head cheerleader. Pfft---you forgot about their classic 40-minute Steel Crib Match at Madison Square Daycare. Scotty H. Keith gave it 5 crayon scribbles. Oh please, that was an overbooked mess. Did we really need HHH using rattlers in a steel crib match? Their I Cry match on the blacktop in second grade blows it away. -

HBK: This thing between me and HHH as been going on for 25 years now, and I'm this close to finishing it, and once I beat him in that I Quit Match at Summerslam it will be over for good. They've been feuding since 9th grade? Its a parody of the fact that they were building up HHH vs. Shawn as ten years in the making when it was maybe 5 or 6, with about four of them not even having Shawn wrestling. -

^ Brilliant stuff. I also laugh out loud whenever I hear this line. "Your superior intellect is no match for our puny weapons!"

First new Family Guy episode leaked

That was without a doubt my least favorite FG joke attempt ever. On the commentary for that episode Seth explains that the only way they could use the song on the show was if they didn't make fun of it, or use it in a mocking manner hence why its used in a completely straight way. -
Now that I think about I'm surprised Dusty didn't show up and order the match to restart.

Though Booker T did a zipline at the next month's PPV the Great American Bash. Just thought I'd mention it.

There was one on Rampage 91. It wasn't good or anything, but it's there.

So, which was it? Corrected. He was counted out as none of them could pin him.

Detailed results spliced together from a few different sites: VELOCITY (1) The Bashams beat Scotty Too Hotty and Shannon Moore. (2) Funaki & Nunzio beat Akio & Kidman. (3) Orlando Jordan beat Charlie Haas. Orlando won with his STF finisher. SMACKDOWN The show started with Carlito's Cabana. Carlito got a good reception, which continued when he insulted the royal family (including a picture of Charles and Camilla on the big screen). He brought out Kurt Angle, who insulted the UK until he was interrupted by Steve Lewington in Union Jack tights. He wanted to go for the Angle Invitational challenge. Angle said he didn't want to risk injury before the fatal 4 way, then attacked the him from behind. After an ankle lock ended the encounter, Carlito spat apple in the Lewington's face. Torrie Wilson came out to be guest ring announcer for the first match. (1) Chavo Guerrero beat Cruiserweight Champion Paul London by countout. When London went to the top rope, Chavo pushed him and London hit the ringpost on his way over the top. He was injured and counted out. Chavo celebrated with the title until the referee took it back and informed Torrie that titles can't change hands on a count out. Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio had a long backstage segment. Eddie told Rey that the only thing he cared about more the wrestling business was his familia - including Rey. Before Rey could respond, Chavo intervened and told Eddie that Rey wasn't his familia, Chavo is. They will always be Guerreros. Eddie told Chavo off, saying that Rey was more of a brother to him than his own brother, Rey was always there for the tag etc. Rey also told Chavo to get lost. Eddie and Rey made up, with Rey saying he knew Eddie's heart was 100% in the right place. (2) MNM beat Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mysterio to retain the WWE Tag Team Titles. This was a long one, and gave visuals that will probably be repeated on Smackdown for several weeks to come. During a melee brawl, Eddie was knocked to the outside. He stayed down for a while and then staggered away from ringside. Meanwhile, Rey fought off both of MNM. As Rey set up for the 619, he noticed Eddie leaving. The distraction let MNM regain the advantage. Eddie looked conflicted, but returned to the corner as the crowd chanted for him. The cameras kept going back to Eddie in the corner, he looked tortured. But he wouldn't make the tag to Rey, or come in to help him. The crowd began to chant "Eddie sucks!" MNM kept looking at Eddie expecting him to intervene, but he never did, and eventually Mercury and Nitro were too much for Rey and they pinned him. After the match, Guerrero just stayed in the corner as they continued to beat on Rey. After the tag champs left, Latino Heat looked at Rey for a while and then slowly walked away, as Mysterio - down and hurt outside the ring - reached out for him. Rey was crying as Eddie left. As Booker T spoke to his wife backstage, Heidenreich appeared and said he wasn't there to fight. Instead, he had a poem. It was about Booker winning the fatal 4 way main event. When Heidenreich finished, Sharmell said she can dig that. As the T's left, Heidenreich celebrated making two friends tonight. (3) John Cena beat Rene Dupree. The crowd popped massively for Cena, though during the match there were some rather loud "Cena Sucks" chants. Standard match between these two, quite quick. The FU finished it. Cena then went into the crowd. In a backstage promo, JBL said he was going to win the four-way match and everywhere he went the people wanted to chant his name - and we did. He repeated that he is a wrestling... God. The crowd filled in the "God" part when he paused for effect. He ignored it rather than responding to it a la heel Rock. Big Show joined him, belittling JBL's recent form. Show said JBL is on a losing streak, and it would continue tonight. (4) Matt Morgan beat Mikey Whiplash in a squash match. Short match finishing with Morgan's suplex-into-something move. The making of Cena's new music video for the song "Bad Bad Man" was shown. It's a cheesy retro thing, including Gary Coleman, and Cena as Hannibal from the A Team. There's a Mr. T character too. The video itself premieres next week on Smackdown. Chimel announced the Smackdown brand house shows in June, Austin's name got a big pop. (5) JBL defeated Kurt Angle and Big Show and Booker T in a Fatal Four-Way match. From the beginning of the match, Big Show dominated. Eventually, Angle got him with an Angle Slam. It got a one-count. Booker's scissor kick got a two-count. The Clothesline from Hell almost got a three-count. They took Show outside the ring and Angle Slammed him through the announcers table. Show was eliminated by count-out. Next, JBL and Angle double-teamed Booker until he fought back with the kicks of doom. When Orlando tried to bring in a chair for JBL, the referee chased OJ off - all the way down the aisle. Angle got the chair and whacked Booker, which gave him the pin. The Bashams ran in to help him and were German Suplexed by Kurt. JBL pinned Angle to win after Booker T returned and hit him with a chair.

I think during the # 1 contenders series in Febuary with Eddie and Booker, that Book actually saw him sneak up on him via titantron and was able to roll up Guerrero for the victory.
