Lord of The Curry replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
He wasn't gone, period. I'd heard rumors that he signed to PFC in California on a 3-fight deal but I guess that didn't pan out. This is a bit strange given that JOB was the 1st victim of the "Boring Fighters" purge. -

Let's hope that Irvin somehow injures himself before this fight takes place. -

Man, people expecting a slugfest are going to be pissed when Silva takes Irvin down and submits him with ease. -
Whoah whoah whoah. I can understand not liking HHNF but that under no circumstances is a horrible album.

Seriously, fuck UFC on this one. I'm all about Anderson on TV for free but JAMES IRVIN?! That's beyond retarded. -

I see no other way for this fight to end other then Tanner taking it to the ground and whompin' on Kendall like he did David Terrell. -

It's pretty much a "Loser gets EliteXC" kinda fight. -
Well this fucking sucks. Stan Winston, the man behind some of Hollywood's most amazing monsters, has died after losing his battle with cancer. The Oscar-winning visual effects artist died on Sunday at his home in Malibu, California, aged 62. Winston won Oscars for his work in Aliens, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Jurassic Park. He also created notable visual effects for hit films like Predator, Edward Scissorhands and Batman Returns. His most recent work can be seen in summer blockbusters Iron Man and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. In a statement released on Monday, Terminator star and California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger called Winston a "genius" and "one of my best friends". The action man-turned-politician added, "Stan's work and four Oscars speak for themselves and will live on forever. What will live forever in my heart is the way that Stan loved everyone and treated each of his friends like they were family... I will miss him greatly and am honoured to have worked with him." LOLLERS at saying Rashad fought like a champion in the Bonnar fight. Dude had side mount and WENT BACK TO GUARD because he was fighting not to lose and was still at the point in his career where he relied 90% on his wrestling, as opposed to now when it's 75%. Champions fight to win and Rashad didn't do that in the Bonnar fight. I'll agree with the Lambert fight though. -

Your first mistake, honest to God, was believing Dana when he said he welcomes competition. -

I don't get where all of this "UFC is playing dirty" whining is coming from. It's a smart business move by UFC to try and take away as many Affliction viewers as they can. Does it seem shady? Sure but when has Dana ever given a shit about looking bad if it means screwing over the competition? -

Apparently Cain Velasquez has been approached about fighting on this card. I can see Leben on it as well. As for Vera I don't doubt that he's in fighting shape but the NSAC could deny him the fight based on the fact that he got TKO'd just shy of a month before. -

So, does "live TV special" = UFN? I really like that fight but if they're expecting people to tune in for one fight with such a loaded Affliction card I don't know how well that will go for them.
