  1. Main Event for the UFC Middleweight Championship Anderson Silva vs Dan Henderson Cheick Kongo vs Heath Herring Jon Fitch vs TBA (was to be Gono but pulled out with a broken hand) Josh Koscheck vs Dustin Hazlett Roan Carneiro vs Diego Sanchez Luke Cummo vs Luigi Fiorvanti John Halverston vs Jorge Gurgel Andrei Arlovski vs Jake O'Brien Of the above fights Carneiro/Sanchez and Arlovski/O'Brien are the only two that aren't a lock. Going to be tough to find an opponent with a month and a half's notice to train for somebody like Fitch. No chance of a Koscheck fight, Karo and Alves are tied up with each other, Hughes is God knows where. I'm sure Davis came out of the fight last night unscathed but I doubt he'd take it. I like this lineup, oddly enough it sucks that we won't see Tanner/Okami on this card like originally rumored but if it means I lay eyes on it personally I can deal. Kongo/Herring could be ugly or entertainingly ugly. From what I've see and heard Hazlett is legit when it comes to the ground but his wrestling isn't on a level where he can stop Koscheck from taking him down. Carneiro/Diego is an interesting one but I think Diego will simply overwhelm Roan. So long as Gurgel/Halverston doesn't get main card billing (and it won't) I'm fine with it. Cummo can hopefully put on a good show against Fiorvanti. I've given up pretty much all faith in Arlovski but if he kills O'Brien dead I'll enjoy it.
  2. Provided Kongo gets past Herring in March I'd say him.
  3. Montreal update....... GSP vs Serra MacDonald vs Doerkson Stout vs Rich Clementi Tanner vs Okami Danzig vs Bocek Goulet vs Hironaka
  4. Check your Inbox, Spike.
  5. That show was fucking awesome, as good as anything they've put on since UFC 74. Nothing sucked. Three "YOU GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT" moments to start us off, sweet battle of the Paul's, Gonzaga/Werdum was kinda sad to watch but not a bad fight and seeing Joe play in survival mode against BJ was great. Sooooooo much blood. Oh, and STOUT~! Don't care if it wasn't a good fight. STOUT!!~ Punch that ticket to Montreal!
  6. Tanner vs Okami in Montreal. OHSHIT>!
  7. Herman got tapped by MacDonald, allowed Scott Smith of all people to try and get a kneebar on him and was saved by the bell against Doerkson. No reason Maia can't take this but I also like Ed so if he wins it's cool.
  8. Well it's a moot point as Pellegrino should've never been considered a contender in the first place.
  9. Has BJ ever been cut in any fight? If so I can't recall it.
  10. The only problem there is that BJ has a very good chin coupled with the ability to not show any damage he might have actually taken.
  11. Eric Pele vs Soa Palelei. Book it. So much confusion to be had. So much potential hilarity.
  12. I'm interested in seeing both guys strategies. Whether BJ will be more conservative with his striking to save up his gas tank for the later rounds and in turn if Joe will push the pace to try and wear BJ out. And yes Joe's striking is improved but I don't know how long he'll want to stand with BJ. Joe has only two KO/TKO victories in his entire career whereas we've seen the damage BJ's fists can do. If Joe got dropped by Yves Edwards there's no reason to think BJ can't do it either.
  13. Ahhh Port Colborne. Meth capital of Ontario. Classy place. No offense to redbaron, of course.
  14. Even though I want to see BJ be the sword of vengeance against Sherk for humping his way to a title and title defence I think Stevenson winning would be worth it to see the internet collectively melt down and watch BJ's fans question their place on this earth.
  15. In contrast I live in a three bedroom apartment in downtown Toronto for 1350 with utilities included.
  16. Hot shower, moisturizer, Mach 3, L'Oreal for Men foam. Booyah. Though I'm about 2 weeks into a beard so it's a moot point.
  17. Working in the financial industry I can tell you one certain thing: If you move to Alberta you'll be thrilled about getting a job at McDonalds for 17 bucks an hour but once the bills come in real estate-wise you'll be questioning why you ever moved there in the first place.
  18. OH SHIT OH SHIT OOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SHIT
  19. Rashad needs to learn Cuba's celebration dance from Jerry Maguire. He can spike his mouthpiece instead of a football.
  20. I'll second that one.
  21. Having failed to work out their differences, Zuffa, LLC, and Randy Couture (Pictures) appear to be headed to a Las Vegas courtroom. A suit filed in Clark County District Court Monday on behalf of Zuffa, which owns and operates the Ultimate Fighting Championship, alleges Couture made comments regarding the UFC that caused the business irreparable damage, and it says the current UFC heavyweight champion is in breach of the contract he signed upon his return from retirement in December 2006, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Tuesday. Couture announced his resignation from the UFC -- as an active fighter and champion, as well as an ambassador for the company and on-air personality -- in October, citing the desire to fight Russian Fedor Emelianenko (Pictures), who is not contracted to the UFC, and a history of "swimming against the current with the management of the UFC" as reasons for his decision. Seeking damages -- both compensatory and punitive -- in excess of $10,000, the suit against Couture also seeks an injunction against "The Natural" that would prevent him from working with any organization deemed to be competing against the UFC. The suit alleges conspiracy against several unnamed parties that aimed to work against the UFC. A group of fighters from Xtreme Couture are scheduled to fight a squad led by Mario Sperry (Pictures) in an International Fight League matchup Feb. 29 in Las Vegas. According to the Review-Journal report, the IFL commitment would be in direct conflict with a stipulation in Couture's deal that prohibits him from being in "direct or indirect competition" with the UFC for the 12 months following the termination of his contract. However, an IFL official told Sherdog.com that the league doesn't have a formal relationship with Couture. "Randy is not a signed IFL coach like Pat Miletich (Pictures) or Matt Lindland (Pictures) or Renzo Gracie (Pictures)," IFL Senior VP of Communications Joe Favorito told Sherdog.com. "We are not using Randy's full name or likeness in any advertising in any way (outside of the Extreme Couture camp brand), our focus is on the athletes and their camp, since that is what fans want to see." Sean O'Heir, public relations director for Xtreme Couture, told Sherdog.com that Shawn Tompkins (Pictures) would lead the squad into battle, not Couture. Couture (16-8-0), the only two-division champion in UFC history, has seen his Xtreme Couture training facility in Las Vegas explode into one of the busiest mixed martial arts factories in the world, training fighters across promotional lines. In March of 2007 Couture returned from a one-year "retirement" to out-point Tim Sylvia (Pictures) for the UFC heavyweight belt. Couture defended the title in August, stopping Gabriel Gonzaga (Pictures) in the third round. Following his resignation, Couture and UFC management publicly traded barbs about respect and money. "I expect Randy to honor the obligations in his contract that he signed (a year ago)," UFC president Dana White told the Review-Journal. "I tried to resolve it by talking to this guy that I've had a relationship with for eight years and was unsuccessful. Now this thing's in the hands of the justice system." Calls to Couture and his agent Matt Walker were not immediately returned.
  22. In other news I just joined American Top Team.
  23. Ask Randy if Xtreme Couture North is hiring. I need out of my current job and would take a decent paycut to work there.
  24. GSP/Sera J-Mac/Dirte Alves/Karo Bocek/Danzig Joslin vs TBA Goulet vs TBA Franklin vs Lutter Stout vs TBA GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO indeed. Dream opponents are the following: Stout vs Huerta, Joslin vs Marcus Davis, Goulet vs Somebody with striking power.
