Rams/Bears at 1 on FOX. Lions/Seahawks at 4 on FOX. No idea what's on CBS. credit: Sportsline.

No way in HELL are they a lock.

I don't think that anything post-1997 was released by the WCW's parent company (Turner Home Entertainment). They might've decided to go with an in-house setup (WCW Home Video?), while still paying the same licensing and promotional fees to Turner. I believe the WCW ppvs released post-THE were from WB. Ahh. Yeah, you're correct. I didn't bother to check my Spring Stampede 1999 master, before I posted that original response.

Saying he's in Benoit's class, is a whole lot different from saying he's MEDIOCRE... ...which is what YOU said.
-
It's depressing that you view Brock in the same class as Cena and/or an unproven Matt Morgan. Team Angle v. Team Brock: ***1/4. Angle/Benoit/Cena will have to work the "small man vs. big man" formula for EVERY heel on the other team. It'll be a bit repetitive, but Brock and TBS will both have their working boots on to aide their partners. Team Austin v. Team Bischoff: ***3/4. Eight of the ten wrestlers can hold their own in a tag match. Let's see how much Henry and Steiner can contribute to the overall result (though, I have faith in a HEEL Steiner). Undertaker v. Vince McMahon: **. Vince will bleed like a stuck pig...ONCE AGAIN. All rejoice. Goldberg/HHH: **1/2. Kane/Shane: ** Molly/Lita: *. Tajiri/Noble: **1/2. On a huge card like this, it'll get 8-10 minutes, though it deserves MUCH more. Bashams/Guerreros: **. Damaja and Basham are still unproven as a quality team on Smackdown, let alone the tag champions.

Oh, go look at my eBay feedback page now. Not only did he lie about the feedback: "it's been a month and i have still not recived the dvd. Whats going on!!!", it's been over only TWO WEEKS since the auction ended. Here's the kicker of all fucking kickers: he paid me with a FUCKING MONEY ORDER that just came to me YESTERDAY. No e-mail address to contact him, no notice of which item he actually won...just a simple old money order. Mr. Eisenberg did not contact me once to say he sent his payment, nor did he make any "follow-up" emails to make sure we were both working together on a transaction. God needs to exercise his free will in eliminating dumbfucks from this planet. FUCKING ASSHOLE.

They might've decided to go with an in-house setup (WCW Home Video?), while still paying the same licensing and promotional fees to Turner. With WWF moving from Coliseum Video to in-house WWF Home Video, late 1997-early 1998 had a downtime where neither of the Big Two's pay-per-views were being heavily manufactured. Degeneration X and Survivor Series both are VERY rare; additionally, Royal Rumble got a VERY late release date.

Don't all organizations (except for the AFL and probably CFL) follow the 30-yard line rule?

I should have received it today, or probably tomorrow (Sunday). Depends on Highspots.com's shipping.

Anderson and Scott Skiles. The TE edition consisted of Penny, Anderson and Scott (with a possibility of Horace Grant replacing Scott).

Seen it for the first time on espn.com a few days ago... I marked out.

I don't recall him doing that, but I can tell you he was in the NBA Jam games if nothing else. Maybe he was too busy making crappy rap albums to allow his likeness to be in video games. Which versions of Jam did he appear in (i.e.: what year?) O'Neal wasn't in either of the first two editions of Jam - the original and "tournament edition".
-
If it's either of the two, it WILL be Morgan. The WWE, thankfully, doesn't have any faith in Jones to succeed long-term. No way will he be built up serious enough (in the downtime of Kurt's surgery) to even be in the same league as Angle.
-
On a side note, I swear that Shaquille didn't sign the NBA licensing contract, when he was originally drafted. From my memory, he didn't appear in any form of basketball game from 1993 (draft) until 1998.

The WWE version of RVD is LOADS better than any thirty-minute stall and no-sell session by Van Dam. His offense is MUCH more believable this time around. Tazz becoming a color commentator for the WWE was the best decision he made - he was an average wrestler at best, with great charisma. The WWF succeeded, because at KOTR 1996, they sowed the seeds of a badass heel working as a face - he was advertised as the "best wrestler in the WWF" (during Bret's hiatus after XII ) and would continue developing his gimmick, until he exploded in late 1997. Heyman didn't "make" WWF what it was in the late 90's. It was proper character development, good pacing, and arguably the best storyline of the 1990's. He isn't responsible for their success. That's like saying the Chicago Cubs are responsible for the success of Greg Maddux. They were both there for VERY short stints. Heyman never made a "Rock" or a "Stone Cold". Heyman is great for morale and putting together great matches, but little else. He's the "fantasy booker" that we all were at the age of ten, putting together matches with our WWF/WCW figurines. We got that last year with the Smackdown Six. What ultimate good did it do? MOTY candidates? He isn't? Vince already HAS a bunch of yes-men - if he needed his ass kissed, he'd look to Patterson, Brisco, Garea, any of the road agents without any balls, and anyone from the entire roster of wrestlers. They actually brought in consultants to CRITIQUE the product.

It is when the guy's looking at a year plus out and comes back in only 2. Look at Edge, he was injured before Angle and he's still got a few months before he comes back. And he'll be 100% after that, right? Austin and Benoit were two relatively older workers that came back before their projected return date (as Edge will follow suit)...both were in HORRIBLE shape after returning: this is not limited to, but including recurring neck trouble and nerve damage (noticeably with Benoit). Younger workers in Rhyno and Lita took 14 and 18 months, respectively, to return to full-time action. Guess which boat would Angle most likely be in?
-
Considering it's minimally invasive and has been tested by other neurosurgerons before, it's not exactly "miracle surgery".
-
Like who? Brock is busy, Show is US champ and everyone else is a face. Show hasn't exactly been the "defending champion" anyway. I'm convinced that the next feud he's going to (Cena/Benoit) WILL NOT be for the belt either. I highly doubt that they were really going to wallow around with Angle after the PPV was over. You have five serious contenders on the Smackdown side (Cena, Angle, Benoit, Brock and TBS, with Eddy tied up) - none of the players could afford to go down the card. The writers would be forced to bring someone up to "their" level.
-
Best wishes to Angle. I wonder how this will affect the booking of the top-tier wrestlers on Smackdown. A few workers could've greatly benefitted from a program with Angle right about now.
-
Who knows what his motives are? Jordan did it, because he knew the NBA would try to cash in on him at every chance they could. The union didn't look at him in a "he's an asshole" light, when he did such. Quick question: Does the MLBPA, or any other sports league, have a say in games not sponsored by them? (Charles Barkley: Shut Up And Jam, Sammy Sosa Baseball, etc.). He's an asshole for other things he's done in his career - but certainly not in this instance.
-
In the match with HHH that ended with the DDT on the stage I thought he was paying more attention to selling, but maybe he was just exhausted, I don't know. I liked that match, though it mostly got shit on here. The match where they worked his leg for 10 minutes and he jut got back up? And then used leg offense for the entirety of the finish. That'd be the one.
-
...or even before that, when Hogan paid Nick Patrick off to sabotage Sting's credibility, by fucking up the count (without the writer's knowledge).
-
Book the same matches month after month, with no proper storyline or buildup?
