  1. Clash IX...to hype the Flair DVD. Yeah, considering the DVD needs a 2nd printing because it sold out so fast...I guess the WWE dropped the ball on advertising this one.
  2. Flair/Funk is the FTV match.
  3. Don't remember the specifics of what was taped over it, but here's my list: Wrestlemania V. Wrestlemania VII. Wrestlemania VIII. Summerslam 1991. Survivor Series 1989. Survivor Series 1991. Survivor Series 1994. 05.24.2001 Smackdown (TLC III). 03.18.2002 RAW (night after X-8 - Brock's debut). 06.17.2002 RAW (Rock's return). 10.07.2002 RAW (RAW Roulette - TLC IV). Luckily, I've recently downloaded the entire episode of RAW Roulette. I haven't retrieved any of those PPV's yet, though.
  4. Anybody know the reason for this? It always eats me up not being able to complete my 2001 DVD PPV collection. They didn't start the "All PPV's on DVD" production until June of 2001 when they released X-7 and Backlash.
  5. That's because you bought the "MTV's Behind WWF Tough Enough" DVD, not the actual boxed set.
  6. They have stock in the video libraries, not the trademarks.

    Ric Flair DVD

No. It does have his pre-PPV promo (which is hilarious), as well as his post-match interview. Correct.
  9. Well, Yang and Noble ARE on the roster.
  10. You cut your losses when he's losing money, which he's not in a position to do so. You DON'T cut your losses, if the negatives (losing millions of dollars) outweigh the positives (Mark Henry off of my television). Hell, that's the total opposite of "cutting your losses".
  11. Doesn't mean jack-squat anyway. For example, just because XPW got Shane Douglas over when WWE or WCW didn't, doesn't make them a better promotion because of it.
  12. Considering that Edge will not be physically cleared to wrestle until the actual Mania event, it's either Christian or no match.

    Rhyno...

From what I remember reading Vince told them to do this restspot during the match. Well they did and it bored the crowd to death so Vince came out and tried to save it and/or stopped it. Then afterwards he blamed it on Rhyno. The restspot was gimmicked so that Vince would come out after the crowd chanted "boring". It was all an intentional move, so that he would segue into the T & A contest after that. Vince never punished Rhyno because of that incident. Rhyno didn't do much to light the world on fire, anyway - he was being carried by Benoit, Guerrero and Tajiri throughout the end of the summer.
  14. It's sad that you still don't understand why Mark Henry is employed. They tried EVERYTHING to embarrass him into quitting his contract - he didn't budge. If he's fired, he could use his stint in 1999-2000 as character defamation and sue the WWE's pants off. Buying him out of his contract would be the DUMBEST thing they could do right now - he easily takes homes of millions of dollars. Why not use him while he is available for them to use? It's not like he's in a main event spot, swaying the audience to watch/turn away from the product. Nash's contract expires in January as well. He's gone, too. Dustin was never green himself? By your logic, why did he survive in the WCW in 1991, when key guys like Flair were being dropped?

Wasn't that match on the Triple H DVD? Just curious-I don't own it, nor have the desire to buy it to find out. -Ben The match you're referring to, is the final match of the trilogy from Wrestlewar 1989. It's also on the Flair DVD. Flair/Steamboat I is from the Chi-Town Rumble in Chicago, Illinois. Flair/Steamboat II (2/3 falls; Clash of the Champions VI) is on the Flair DVD.
  16. Well, it just hit me: why would the WWE announce Dustin's release so quickly, even at all? Runnels is under contract for two more months, regardless of what happens. This just reeks of working the fans, ala the Orton/Jindrak restaurant incident from a week ago. No "best wishes in his future endeavors"...it just seems like they're going to run a "real" angle with Runnels this time.
  17. Umpteenth? It's only his third, if you count the time he was in the WWF with Dusty... I meant as a WWF AND WCW wrestler. I believe this is his sixth stint in a wrestling promotion. As much as I like Dustin, trimming down the roster is the best thing for business as well as their competition. The WWE has more than enough workers on their payroll to fill six hours of original programming each week.
  18. People whose subsequent firing is undeserved...IT'S AN UNBELIEVABLE PRECEDENT. Don't you think there's a reason Dustin has been released for the umpteenth time?
  19. Never stopped them from getting out of other contracts. Remember that certain someone who had a 20 year contract? That contract had an out (and I assume it was specifically put in for the purpose it ended up serving). Dammit, why do all the super-long ironclad deals have to be given to total slugs? It didn't have an out. Vince asked Bret to get out of the contract for the sake of the company. Bret obliged, because he believed the WWF were in rough times.
  20. Cena/Lesnar at the Rumble. I'd like to see Benoit get the WWE title shot by winning the Rumble.
  21. Anything that involves a "whiplash" effect should cause you to double over in pain (ex: irish whips into ropes OR turnbuckle).

    Ric Flair DVD

It's definitely not ALL smarks, though. I know of a HELL of a lot of friends here at college, who have turned away from wrestling in the last three to four years, who've ordered this set for their own collection. The DVD sales is awesome news for those who want more nostalgic footage reprinted.
  23. Especially one that has Milwaukee listed as "Sucktown".
  24. Yes. If you're referring to numerical easter eggs (entering numbers on your remote control), they can be achieved by the PS2 DVD remote, or by accessing the "pop-up menu" with your PS2 controller(press select).
