  1. Palumbo and Stamboli DID get sent back down to OVW last year - they worked the Smackdown television tapings, then trained in Louisville for the rest of the week.
  2. Are you proposing that Jericho's character would let someone else come over to get the title with his blessing? I'm not sure if that would fly with the fans, considering how he's been booked as a greedy, smarmy heel since October 2001. I still think that Benoit moving to RAW in any fashion before he takes on Brock again, devalues the World belt AND his own character.
  3. Definitely picking it up with the lack of UPN coverage here (misssed the main feature). The matches and promos that come with the DVD don't hurt, either.
  4. IIRC, Kanyon trained Leno and Rodman, possibly Arquette.
  5. That's absolutely horrible. Why have they done this? Easiest explanation would be that Vince and WWEHV was taking a small jab at Jesse for that royalties lawsuit a few years ago.
  6. You DO know that Dreamer couldn't make a living in the indies due to his banged up condition, right? He's towing the company line, simply because it's a guaranteed job. Very true.
  7. Best wrestling in a promotion literally means nothing, unless people are willing to pay for it. Putting on a ***** match in an indy and drawing 75 people is different from seeing a ***** match in front of 15,000.
  8. One of the SmackDown referees. Best picture I could find...
  9. Excluding ECW, that's a time period of a promotion, not the promotion as a whole. At its worst, the WWE is *still* the best promotion in North America, for a number of reasons.
  10. Hopefully, Spanky doesn't burn any bridges with the WWE, and could be able to come back someday soon - once the roster cuts eliminate dead weight. Once again, good luck to him.
  11. By the time he does decide, though, it might be too late. He'll be able to lose $700,000,000+, before he realizes he has to make major changes? That'd be a blunder 10x the magnitude of WCW. Hey, let's discuss a topic that people aren't just talking out of their asses about!
  12. In between losing to the F.B.I., they beat Kanyon and Collyer on 12.06.2003. They've only lost three tag-team matches on Velocity since they've been given a push as a team. Considering he's only been on the roster for 10 months, it's hard to defend Kendrick quitting because he was jobbing on their second show. Lack of use on house shows and Smackdown? Yes. Jobbing? No.
  13. ...yes, because it was co-produced by WCW.
  14. But he HASN'T been jobbing, especially since he's teamed up with London. He's just angry that he's not being used enough, which is a pretty weak excuse (unless the salary was basically equivalent to working Zero-1 or the U.S. indies.) Good luck to Spanky in the near future, though. Boy, that would be great for the roster - 35 guys breaching their contracts and going off to work the indies, where it will become even MORE of a muddled mess there. I'd love to see where that group of workers end up.
  15. A big "eh" to the Superbrawl match - it definitely wasn't anything special. Add to that the fact that they were following two consecutive **** matches (Sting/Luger v. Steiners, Arn v. Eaton)and you've got the makings of an ** classic. The rest of the stuff you mentioned was pretty good, though.
  16. 31 yards, offically.
  17. Something like a 30-31 yarder?
  18. WCW didn't have the entire match in its library - I assume they destroyed pieces of the match when Turner forced them to edit it. It's called MODERATION - that's how you sell your product.
  19. I'd never believe I'd EVER cheer for Brett Favre...until now. ...and the thing is, I've got two reasons to cheer for him.
  20. Following week is the Super Bowl. Week after THAT is the Pro Bowl. January 25th would be the only suitable week until early March (with the NBA and NHL All-Star weekends also in February) to get everyone's attention focused on that game, and that game alone. Even if it is for a good cause, you're compromising the rules of the game, as well as the other teams who would be livid at seeing a game that was worth TEN MILLION DOLLARS simply put on for the benefit of the two teams, thrown together at the last minute. Solution? Hope that this idea is implemented next year.
  21. It's already a questionable list. Let's wait until 1wrestling, or Silvervision, or highspots, confirms it. Martel had a GREAT string of matches in late 1997 - early 1998, but it was hardly a blip on the overall scene. The same goes with Saturn (unless you want to include that angle with Jericho). Malenko/Jericho's feud could be covered on the DVD, as well as Raven/DDP/Benoit (*hint*hint*). I don't think you can really dignify a "Rise Of WCW" and "Fall Of WCW" DVD without including Scott Hall, simply because he was in a lot of integral angles (Outsiders' first Invasion, nWo, Hall being last line of defense for Hogan on 07.06.1998, Goldberg v. Nash, Fingerpoke Of Doom, Hall trashing the TV title)
  22. This list is just as reliable as the first list of matches that were on the Flair DVD. There's not enough Hogan...or Goldberg...or Flair....or nWo, to make me believe this.
  23. They unloaded the remainder of Penny's fat contract. Considering that money will likely attract Kobe Bryant to Phoenix, I don't think that Suns fans should be TOO worried. How about the Knicks, who have now invested over $32,000,000/per year in long-term contracts for two players playing the SAME POSITION? McDyess is a free agent at the end of the season - if you connect the dots, that means they unloaded two bad contracts (Marbury's extension and Penny's remainder) to use McDyess for literally nothing. Ward will be released at the end of the week. Eisley is decent enough to man the point, while Marion and Stoudemire become the focal point for the Suns. ...and for the record... Two 1st round draft picks + cap space > Frank Williams.
  24. Fuck my contest. The league was marred all year by my inability to calculate scores on a week-to-week basis. On Mondays and Tuesdays, I couldn't scrounge up enough time to accomplish this (process would take about 2 hours to complete), so I'd keep putting it off until it became a hassle to even post the prediction threads...thanks to KKK on that part for keeping the league alive in a small fashion. I'll definitely declare a regular season winner in the next few weeks, so until then, good luck with your predictions in THIS contest.
