  1. Would you put a primary focus on selling wrestling over selling merchandise? Will women's wrestling, although taken seriously by U.S. fans over the past few months, ever make the casual fan say "Well, the main event will be horrible, but I need to see Trish/Victoria lock it up again!". An untrained worker in Stacy Keibler will still make more money for the WWE, than Jazz, one of the top wrestlers in the female division, EVER will.
  2. ...and you're a Bengals fan? Since Terrell has been playing professional ball... Wonder how the Bengals have done in that same stretch of time... OT: Remember the last time the Bengals made the playoffs? Yeah, 1990. In the past two DECADES, the Niners have 17 winning seasons. Comparing them to the Bengals, the 49ers have more Super Bowl rings (four) than the Bengals have had winning seasons (three) in that span. Talk about mediocrity.
  3. Like someone WASN'T going to post a link to some definitive list here, anyway?
  4. Just to kill all doubt, here's nearly all of the music listed... Format: Wrestler Entrance Music Artist
  5. September 13th, 2001 edition of Smackdown. I have that botch on tape. Dude, just out of interest, was that actually a botch. I thought it was, but I was watching it in the pub and Muggy thinks it was deliberate. Can you clear this up for us? It was accidental - Scotty slipped on the bottom rope when he was coming down. The announcers covered it as being a deliberate "crowd-pleaser" by S2H.
  6. That was the story behind the match: each guy going to tremendous lengths of pain, so they wouldn't lose the match...and their career. You seemed to forget that Savage kicked out of Warrior's finisher too (clothesline, gorilla press, gorilla splash)... can you imagine, at that time, how well that finisher was built up? It was equivalent to the F-5 in assurance.
  7. Hmm...
  8. September 13th, 2001 edition of Smackdown. I have that botch on tape.
  9. (1.)If they do a tag team gauntlet with both brands vying to unify the titles (which could be Vince's big announcement next week), nearly everyone on this list could be thrown into there with Booker/Van Dam and the WWE tag champions. (2.)I just assumed Morgan wouldn't be ready for Mania. (3.)The women will get a title match thrown onto the card, obviously.

  11. Weren't Eddy and Chavo like REALLY sloppy in that match? Not really, but the finish was a culmination of sloppy work, complete with Eddy overshooting the frog splash and giving Haas a concussion with a top-rope knee to the head.
  12. Vengeance 2003, without a doubt.
  13. Spoilers are from gamefaqs.com, so take the results with a grain of salt. Heavily edited for spelling and grammar...

    RVD DVD

Bottom line is, deadweights aren't able to be carried to **** matches. No examples to disprove this, which is because when the Warriors and Sids were motivated to put on a good match, which was pretty rare in itself, they could pull their weight in a match.
  16. The Braves drew 2.4 million last season. That's hardly a cause for a mass salary dumping. ...and the league average was 2.27 million. How is it that a team only drew (exact number) 127,271 more than the league average, a per game average of 1,571 people, when they were tied for the best record in the majors? Additionally, their worst home attendance figures since 1991. They averaged a shade above 30,000 for the home games, which has been on a steady decline since Turner Field opened in 1997. Stadium capacity: 50,000. 1997: 42,771 1998: 41,492 1999: 40,554 2000: 39,930 2001: 34,858 2002: 32,142 2003: 30,393
  17. EDIT: Harley corrected himself.
  18. I hardly doubt that $8-12 million more will be the key factor in another NL East championship for the Braves - none of their free agents were worth signing to the extensions they received (Sheffield, Lopez, possible Maddux signing) and most of the free agents weren't convincing enough to Schuerholtz to reconsider cutting team salary. Basically, teams like the Braves are doing poorly in attendance, despite any established playoff contentions. Last season, Schuerholtz fielded the greatest offensive unit they've had in Braves history, and they stil struggled to fill the stadium at even 60% capacity. You have to start cutting costs in order to maintain any semblance of a profit. Do the Yankees need to worry about such concerns?
  19. You'll find the proper codecs at Divx.com.
  20. HOW could small markets support a $200,000,000 team? In what convoluted world should small-market owners expect to throw out these teams and expect a profit?
  21. Kanyon is still getting paid, in return for honoring this clause of the contract, so it's hard to bitch about the situation.
  22. Yes.
  23. Thank goodness for the West Coast tape delay. Well hell, there might as well be something about Hawaii that doesn't suck... A house show circuit with AJ v. Teddy Hart (and Bret in attendance), makes up for it, though. And anyway, I got out while I could.
  24. Thank goodness for the West Coast tape delay.
  25. September 23rd, 1999, where he lost to Chris Jericho in a "First Blood" match on Smackdown. CRZ's recap of that match...
