  1. As you said below, Austin/HHH were supposed to meet up somewhere between Summerslam and No Mercy, with HHH leading the WWE. Basically, he took the role that Angle had actually done during the Invasion (save for the heel turn at the end of the InVasion). Austin/Benoit and HHH/Jericho at KOTR, with Austin winning, but costing Trips his match. It would've furthered the rift between them, but Austin would plead innocence until the actual heel turn he made at InVasion. On another note, I have NO idea where Rocky would've fit into the equation throughout this entire proposed deal.
  2. Yankees fans versus everyone else. Boy, we haven't seen this one before.
  3. The Tazz/Lawler/Ross angle was a year before the Invasion angle.
  4. I'm just angry that it wasn't eight discs - the WWE just can't do ANYTHING right. ... ... If this product moves more than the WWE expects (which it is doing, so far), what's stopping them from putting a second volume out? This isn't the end-all, be-all of the Monday Night Wars; the rivalry lasted on a weekly basis for over FIVE YEARS and simply cannot be summed up in one (or even three) disc/s.

    ESPN's "All-Exclusive"

He has three - victories over the Bengals, Broncos and Chargers. Irvin is genuinely insane. He'd make for a great conversation, but it'd look pretty weak if the best ESPN could do for this special is using someone already on their payroll. Brown, last I heard, was in prison. IIRC, I don't remember the Browns winning anything during his playing career, either (I know they did with Otto Graham).
  6. The RAW directly after his title win (01.11.1999). He later switched to a remixed version when he came back as Commissioner Foley in June of 2000. Then, when he returned in time for Wrestlemania X-7, he went back to the original "car crash" theme (or at least a variant of it, non-remix).
  7. "Slow Chemical" is a bonus track on the Canadian version of Forceable Entry - you won't find it on compact disc otherwise.
  8. The tag title match will be announced tonight.

    ESPN's "All-Exclusive"

Sapp works for me as the outspoken athlete of the group, alongside Roy Jones, Jr. He also had all of that controversy surrounding him earlier this year because of the criticisms he had of the NFL. It's a good choice for the token NFL athlete, considering this will give him a forum to speak his mind in an "eloquent" manner.
  10. Just picked it up at Suncoast for 24.99 - a bit pricey, but it's already living up to every penny. The angles and promos of the time period, such as the Flair return in Greensboro and Austin/Tyson confrontation are absolutely great to see again - I'd recommend this DVD to anyone who's leaning towards purchasing it.
  11. Exactly . The truth is, the reason he was given an opporunity in WCW was because of his relationship with Page and Eric Bischoff. I'm a huge fan of Kanyon's work in WCW, but even I can agree that he wasn't anything special. I'm sure he also made a good deal of money off of WWE contract for being a "established U.S. worker", even though he'll never have the tools to work above midcard status. Which was what he was doing, until he asked for his release. But that's not how actual contracts work - if someone doesn't ASK for a release, there's a pretty good chance you won't release him until his contract ends. WWE made bad choices with signing a few workers - but it's stupid for ANY professional business to cut your losses and lose millions of dollars over a buyout or breach of contract. You try to make something out of these workers, until it's established that the crowd won't react to their work. After that, you job them out until their contract runs out, or until they ask for their release.
  12. Wow, another bitter ex-WWE employee "bringing the content". Correct. Off-topic comparison: Kobe Bryant, although (arguably) the most talented player in the NBA, is certainly not the best player in the league right now.
  13. *BUMP*...new prices.
  14. Off-duty cop in patrol clothes. The WWE makes a contribution to the precinct, in return for the services of any officers they're not currently using. You know, a few years ago, the WWE used this practice almost on a weekly basis. You didn't think they were actually asking cops to come to the arena while ON duty, did you?
  15. We had pictures with Orton. And he doesn't have 1/1000 of the talent ot heat or skill of Eddie, so of course Eddie gets the BotD. Fair or not, (probably not) we're willing to give the talented people more leeway That was with another wrestler. Not some fan. And by all accounts Jindrak did more then ask him for an autograph. Wasn't it established that the Orton/Jindrak scuffle was a work on the internet fans?
  16. ::jumps to conclusions:: Eddie doesn't deserve ANY title, especially after this blow-up. Responding angrily to a fan, who most likely latched his nuts onto Eddie's leg until he was forced to back off? Absolutely vile, disgusting behavior by Guerrero.
  17. They did horrible business - were they even promoted alongside the U.S. PPV's or profile videos? My argument doesn't necessarily mean that I don't want these DVD's to be released - because I do - just stating why it's logistically hard to sell today.
  18. They don't have to advance angles and storylines on house shows - not to mention house shows don't have a strict time limit to follow per segment (and I'm not taling about match time).
  19. Who'd buy these shows, though? House shows obviously have no bearing on actual WWE angles, so these releases wouldn't cater to ANY casual fan or non-smark.

    No Way Out

    WWE Tag Team Titles Scott Taylor/Rikishi © v. Haas/Benjamin.
  21. In this case, less is more. You want to leave the door open for the second edition of From The Vault: HBK, so it'd be ridiculous to put these other matches without any rhyme or reason. This is especially considering that you need the promos and build-up packages leading to the match to give new fans an idea of the magnitude of the bout. And regardless, your list clocks out at a little under 3 hours, which is the accepted capacity for quality DVD compression...and that's excluding the crucial promos to make these extras meaningful.
  22. Seconded... The Torch. 411 has the story on their page, too (crediting the Torch). Booker, RVD, Hardy. What midcarders *are* getting pushed, besides Jericho? According to the RAW preview, they're running a "losing streak" angle with Matt Hardy. Booker has already admitted he's retiring in the VERY near future, so why should he be pushed over other midcarders and these new workers from OVW? And really, judging from what people have seen, isn't Booker deserved of the title "hasbeen"? RVD IS getting a Wrestlemania program with someone - at this moment, it'll be Shawn Michaels. Christian is directly connected to the Trish/Jericho angle. Mark Henry was getting a nice-sized push that even smarks liked, before he was recently sidelined with a shoulder injury. Everyone else that's worth their salt are working in the tag-team division. Who's left....Maven?
  23. I'm sure it was Austin's beatdown of Steiner in September that was the reason Scott never made it as a big-time face or heel down the line in 2003. Yep. Hmm, I guess it can't be the fact that he's been barely mobile since he re-debuted - or that he received a chorus of boos in two consecutive World title matchups on PPV...while working as a face. Or that one of those matches was widely considered to be the worst match of 2003 in the promotion...or that he STILL hasn't broken ** in his fifteen month tenure at Titan. That DEFINITELY can't be it, no sir. That's comparable to blaming the Rock for how the Hurricane has been so horribly mismanaged since their program last March. How can ANYONE but the writers be deemed "responsible" for this? Please give examples of midcarders (on the RAW side) that are not being pushed. Geez, give Benoit and Eddie title shots at the same time, and you get in return complaints about how a career midcarder in Steven Richards or a broken down has-been like Steiner should've been pushed. I'd venture to guess that some people have expectations that only their fantasy booking can satisfy.
  24. Of course he'd like it. It's partially his fault, because he couldn't keep up with the other, uninjured wrestlers on a night to night basis. Half-ass every match until the PPV, then put on a "great" match, and repeat. How about giving examples, instead of some vague perception of what you believe to be true? Austin never "dogged it" in the ring, unless it was someone he felt uncomfortable working with (Owen, Hall), which is perfectly understandable.
