They were begging to hire Nathan Jones back?
-
Terri is an interviewer and never trained officially to wrestle...so that doesn't matter. Torrie is evil, so she doesn't matter. Dawn Marie isn't much better. Linda AKA Shaniqua is managing the tag team champions Nidia I kinda would have liked to have seen in the Women's Division. And Gayda just sucks. But the reason I used this argument is, doesn't the release of non-wrestlers make sense if Daffney will only work as a manager? Anyway, dozens of wrestlers have come back to the WWE after being released.
-
It's not like they would've had something for her beyond wrestling, anyway... Look how productive Nidia, Torrie, Terri, Linda, Gayda and Dawn Marie are right now.
-
This will be akin to the European Championship tournament on RAW in March of 1997. They will tape a few matches, then air them along with pre-taped segments consisting of actual wrestling promos, then with superstars doing a tour of the base around the taping site.

Tang powder. Whole sunflower seeds. Saltine crackers with spaghetti sauce. ...not to mention, going though a bottle of "bacon bits" every day.

Actually, he lost by count-out.

They were trying to pop a rating for those early epiodes of RAW. IIRC, that was the third episode in RAW's history.

11-4 this week, which will bring me to 8-5 for the season. ...and with the Niner's FIFTY points today, my tiebreaker is shot to hell (although I did get all four differing picks right today).

If the computer says that USC should NOT be in the National Championship game, then it shouldn't be a "travesty". Yet, even though with the situation we have right now, any of the three teams being left out would've been labelled as a travesty. I advocate laying this argument to rest, by finding the computer's explanation on ESPN.com or NCAA.com for why USC is being left out.

RE: The 8 team bracket idea. It's hard to see a #7 or #8 seed winning the National Championship. Not to mention, three straight weeks of bowl games for two teams? They'd physically be corpses by the National Championship game.

I picked up ESPN Insider ($4.95 a month), so if you see any articles y'all want, let me know and I'll post them. ...from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution - ...and an Insider article -

Maybe they noticed I'm facing the Maui Mercenaries, and are planning accordingly. HAHAHAHAHAHA! ...oh wait, that wasn't really that funny.
-
I'll have a few segments of this past week's show to upload too (Tenay as guest, as he runs down the "Best of 2003" with Meltzer and Alvarez).
-
That's AWESOME. EDIT: How can anyone, let alone Benoit, bend in that way to sell the move?
-
Most defintely. Actually, it would be better for me if it was one file though. Only because you have Cable/DSL/T1. Trust me, I'm a former dial-up'er.
-
...because I forgot about the "AIM" button. Sorry about that. EDIT: I'm going to ask for feedback on doing this, so I can get a feel if TSM'ers want this posted every Tuesday/Wednesday following the show's airdate.

Rafael Palmeiro.

EDIT: They're working now.

All of the files are in 96 kbps quality, originally transferred from 192 kbps for webhosting purposes. If you have a dial-up connection and want smaller file sizes, hit me up on AIM. Right-click on the segment number above the segment's summary, which will get you the desired .mp3 (Segment 1) (Segment 2) (Segment 3) (Segment 4) (Segment 6) (Segment 7) (Segment 8) (Segment 9) (Segment 1) Introduction: --Meltzer and Alvarez talk about Crash's death and how the WWE handled it. (Segment 2) Meltzer and Alvarez talk about: --Latest UFC PPV. --Latest Pride PPV (and how it stacks up to the WWF's best show ever) --Survivor Series 2003. --Shawn Michaels. --UFC's general direction. (Segment 3) --Alvarez's attendance at WWE Tacoma Dome house show, with his overall thoughts. --Lengthy discussion on steroids, after listener call-in. --Beginning of interview with Jim Cornette, opens up with talks on OVW Camp in March, four wrestlers being signed to WWE contracts. (Segment 4) --Continuation on discussion on OVW Camp and last year's products. --Thoughts on OVW workers that belong in the WWE right now. --Reflection on jaw-dropping Cornette/Johnny Ace promo from OVW TV a few weeks prior. --Best match of OVW in 2003, along with the three best OVW shows of the year. I omitted Segment 5 - it's a throwaway three minute segment, where Meltzer preps Cornette to answer questions on Teddy Hart and Memphis wrestling, for the second hour (start of Segment 6) (Segment 6) --Cornette's thoughts on Sputnik Monroe, Sam Mushnick and Jackie Fargo. --Commercials (the only ones I recorded - didn't bother to take them out). --Cornette's HILARIOUS summary of what happened with Teddy Hart at the ROH show, including the words he had with Hart post-match. --Meltzer takes calls: Hogan's future in TNA/WWE, OVW wrestlers being passed up for green workers, Cornette's thoughts on the Crash situation, and how Cornette would straighten out Teddy Hart if he was WWE/OVW property. (Segment 7) --Meltzer's thoughts on OVW television. --Alvarez asks Cornette on the WWE writing team's recent visit of OVW. --How Cornette juggled Batista, Heidenreich and the "Basham Brothers situation" as it pertained to their OVW gimmick. --Caller asks about Meltzer's thoughts on TNA's current product. --Does Cornette watch TNA? --Prank call on Meltzer. (Segment 8) --If Cornette could have one non-WWE worker on his roster, who he would choose. --The era of the male manager. --More thoughts on the latest UFC PPV. --Would Cornette do another last run in Titan? --Which matches Cornette shows to his OVW students to teach ring psychology. --Best students in OVW's history, according to Cornette. (Segment 9) --Cornette's thoughts on his babyface managerial role in the late 80's. --OVW's biggest bust. --Closing thoughts from Cornette and Meltzer. Please don't leech. I capped and uploaded the .mp3's myself, so the least you can do (if you want to use it on your message boards or whatever) is use your own web-host. Take it easy, guys.

Thankfully, your Diatribes continue with RAW and PPV. Honestly, don't sweat it, Dames. The fact that you covered TNA even through its darkest times, for the SOLE reason that readers would be turned on to the product through your recaps, shows how little you really "owe" to us. Keep up the good work - no matter what you're covering.

That's the same question as asking what's wrong with giving Angle/Lesnar *****. Thanks for missing my point. When everyone on "God's green earth" (not really being serious) is giving Angle/Benoit upwards of ****1/2, while you may have possibly low-balled it by giving it ***1/2 without any specific reason, you can see why it goes beyond "Angle love" and is about appreciating the match for what it was. That's why there are things called OPINIONS. In Keller's OPINION, Lesnar/Angle is *****. In YOUR OPINION, Benoit/Angle is ***1/2. Why should be either rating be disregarded?
