When you make assumptions that the Nassau crowd were "idiots" for liking the match, considering it had an emotional background going into the match, while posting for over seven pages on why people SHOULDN'T like it, I think it goes beyond an opinion and becomes a game of "let me convince you to hate this match". ...and millions of people buy Britney Spears records. What's your point? The FACT IS, people were glued to the match. Does that make it a necessarily "good" match? NO. Should that vindicate the fans for enjoying the match? YES. Considering he never made that Angle comment...and that Keith, among others, were emotionally invested in the match, it makes their opinion valid. You shouldn't dispose of their ideas because Keith has a different star scale that others. Yet, you can undercut ratings (Angle/Benoit RR 2003 at ***1/2?) and it's FINE? And we should STILL respect your opinion, yet shit on Keller for giving ***** to Lesnar/Angle?
-
Exactly. You can't watch that match cold turkey and necessarily have the same feeling as the fans "back then" did, since you'd have to trace their history as partners back to the 1992 Rumble.
-
Credit the Meltz... Raw delivered a 3.7 rating on Monday night. It's up from last week's 3.6.

That's why you say "In my opinion", or shorthand it by stating "IMO". Don't state that it was shitty because YOU say so. There were 20,000+ in attendance that night who were on the edge of their seat for the entire match, while most of the big writers (Meltzer, Keller, Keith) raved about the match. Doesn't make your opinion an invalid one, but next time choose your words better.

But they DIDN'T play a video game, so they DIDN'T mention the matches being played on a video game, which is what you griped about.

Actual matches were taped. Good job jumping to conclusions.

They only advertised it once, and it was limited to a little picture blurb at the bottom of the screen. Ross nor Lawler made the announcement of an actual wrestling "match" between them.

It's in California (San Jose, IIRC), so they should be up within the next hour.

Given the fact that he's 31 years old and an injury-prone pitcher, he'll won't sign a one-year contract with ANYONE. No one in their right mind would agree to such a contract. Give an example of how he'll do this. His farm system is in shambles, and they keep getting trading their prospects in July for a new bat.
-
Prospects > Pettite. You COULD keep deteriorating your farm system by signing free agents, but they shouldn't sign Pettite unless the prospects are REALLY BAD. This has been going on for 4-5 years now, and should be fixed now. RE: Bored's post. But football doesn't have a farm system - it's obviously acceptable to do this in any other sport BUT baseball. The only thing OLD about that team was the offensive line, which was consistently the best in football. Their problem was associated with the fact that most of their draft picks didn't pan out (Floyd in 1994, Stokes in 1995, Druckenmiller in 1997), with their only bright spots being Stubblefield in 1994 and Owens in 1998.

The definition of a wrestling fan is to suspend your beliefs. If you think that the WWE puts stock into pleasing the home audience over the live crowd when a match is going on, you're lacking brain matter. If you think the match sucks, fine. That's your opinion, and we respect it. But as an earlier poster has said, you shouldn't be going out of your way to nitpick on faults and flaws in the match - that just kills any enjoyment you may have. If there's a glaring problem with the match (selling, BASIC psychology, match structure, etc.) you're entitled to love/hate the match because of it. The same goes for the entertainment factor of the bout.

I'm sure they didn't have credible sources to report it, or else they would've without a second thought. RIP Mr. Spahn.
