I just want my stuff voted for to get self-gratification. I don't care if you people like it, just vote for it. Those feelings also prove why I have not jumped the shark and remain the Biggest Bastard of an Idiot.
-
that takes too much effort. Do up my ballot for me the way I want it.
-
You forgot about Mike Greenwell. He was my favorite player to watch while growing up. I taught myself to hit left-handed because I thought so highly of him.
-
oh, I also vote for Alf when it comes to that Fall of Haim
-
Angels can't be giving up on Dallas McPherson already. I don't really get this trade for either team since... McPherson > Alfonso Winn > Finley
-
was AngleSault's first name Mike?
-
I guess when you're the Patriots and you shut out a team that was tied for the NFC South lead going into last week that team automatically becomes a jobber.

I think his being mean to you was justified after reading the posts in this thread.

your enthusiasm won't last when you see what PK is talking about.

Its looking more and more as if Jeremy Reed is going to be coming to Boston. Seattle wants Bronson Arroyo and now they're trying to acquire Corey Paterson. I'd take Reed. Defensively he's better than Damon and if he can come close to doing what he did in the minor leagues then we'll be fine at the leadoff position.

Big Mutha Truckers starring Courtney Love and Billy Bob Thornton

I vote for myself in every catagory that has me in it. I don't care about any of the others. Oh, and I got snubbed because The Last Man Standing match between The 70s Dude and Calvin got absolutely no recognition here.

according to the Providence Journal the Red Sox are actually trying to get younger so they're in a quasi-rebuilding phase. It explains why they were so willing to trade Renteria with the lack of quality SS on the market. I'm curious as to how this team is going to look on opening day now.
-
I was afraid for a moment that Bruiser Chong was going to suggest the Red Sox go after Corey Patterson. Yankees could have had Josh Beckett if they had been willing to give up both Wang and Cano. That's quality pitching. Barry Zito is available although he'll likely cost the Yankees Wang and a prospect as well. Just because there isn't much in the FA pool doesn't mean there isn't quality pitching out there.

I don't believe they'll end up going after Millwood since they have alot of starting pitchers as it is right now. That's just what Olney was saying and he hasn't been right about anything like that for quite awhile. I imagine they'll be doing everything in their power to fill the void in CF now and possibly hold on to the money should they have to take back a bad contract in order to do that. Personally I would love to see them make a deal for both Joey Gathright and Julio Lugo. D-Rays wanna get rid of both.
-
Buster Olney is saying the Red Sox are going to take the Damon money and focus on giving it to Millwood. If that happens then the rotation would look something like... Schilling Beckett Millwood Papelbon Wakefield with David Wells and Clement most likely being dealt. Red Sox can get a CF via trade with those two players.
-
He won't be able to play a competitive CF after 07. Everybody hated on Bernie's defense, watch Damon's in the next couple years. Carl Crawford scored from second base on a fly out to Damon this past season. The Yankees scored a "shitload" of runs last season and so did the Red Sox. Neither team won because they didn't have the pitching. Another reason Damon left apparently is because the Red Sox weren't going to keep Kevin Millar. I hope that means Millar will be following Damon to NY.

THANK GOD the Red Sox did not match that offer. $13mill a year for a CF with absolutely no arm and his Zone Rating has been going down for 4 straight years now. Granted he had a good Range Factor last season but his Fielding Percentage has also been going downhill for the past few years. His comments when asked "Do you have any parting words for Red Sox fans?" was "Oh well, I tried. The Yankees got the best leadoff hitter in the game now and I'm going to go help them win their first World Series title since they had another good leadoff hitter; Chuck Knoblauch". This doesn't help the Yankees OF defense at all in my opinion. They just keep stacking their line-up and ignore the need to add quality pitching and defense.

according to radio in Seattle, the Mariners non-tender Ryan Franklin.
-
No. He's not suppose to be ready until May or June. God knows how effective he'll be too since it usually takes 12-18 months to fully make it back from TJS.
-
Some players have already been non-tendered RHP Wade Miller RHP Chad Bradford (kinda surprising) RHP Ramon Ortiz RHP Dewon Brazelton Devil Rays also designated RHP Joe Borowski for assignment
-
he'll still be a better value than Jose Cruz Jr. Especially since he only costs a little over $5mill a year. Do the Cubs have any middle infielders right now besides Neifi Perez?
-
There's a rumor that the Padres may now flip Gonzalez to the Red Sox for David Wells. If that's true then the Red Sox have to pull the trigger NOW

and now Manny wants to stay in Boston according to some Sports Memorabilia guy that did bussiness with him. Its all they've talked about on WEEI today. Link to the article.
