Jump shot complete with follow through. I guess they got upset that he showed better form than most of the Knicks. Or the NFL wasn't too happy he was promoting another sport on their airtime. If he scores another touchdown, he should totally do a hockey slapshot motion complete with goal celebration. Following that he can run backwards waving a flag.

F 9/11 probably had the most free advertising aside from Passion Of The Christ in the history of movies. I would say Borat is much more impressive.

Indy comments which don't warrant a thread
Hawk 34 replied to Ravenbomb's topic in General Wrestling
This is just stupid on so many levels. You got Prazak making waves with SHIMMER, which has been incredible stuff for American Woman Wrestling (with matches that actually stack up against the men across the world) and then Ian drags the woman down with Extreme Woman's Wrestling. It works in moderation but a whole show designed around it? Fuck that. -
I remember as a young kid when the first one came out, I stood in the longest line I ever stood in for a movie. The wait was probably 90 minutes and combine that with the typical impatience of a kid, it felt like days.

Savage/Steph rumors? It's been said that Savage had sex with Stephanie when she was 14 years old, or something along those lines.

I hope Carr gets out of Houston before it's too late.

What annoys me about Cornette is that with all his ranting against WWE and their practices, he turns around and refuses to evolve and does the same thing WWE does with his race baiting and homophobic rants. It's completely hypocritical but it's a hypocritical business.

Punk needed a draw to validate himself with the draw but Daniels was the worse possible choice of all the guys Punk wrestled last summer. Strong, Lethal and Gibson were better options for a draw finish. Daniels never got his vengeance over Punk, and Punk even got the last laugh in the 4 Way title change match. Gabe's love for Punk got in the way of booking in that instance. That was the only hiccup of the entire Punk angle which was otherwise well done. Cornette/Homicide was almost identical to every Heel Authority Vs Cool Babyface angle that WWE, WCW and TNA has done. For a promotion that thrives off selling itself as old school driven, it was pretty idiotic to do this angle. Especially with how race driven it was. Cornette is Cornette and we all know what he thinks and feels but it while it worked in the 80's, it is completely archaic in 2006.

Buffalo, Detroit and Miami are all leading right now. At least Tennessee and Houston are doing the right thing in losing.

I do get Baltimore/Cincy but the rest of my options are that Broncos game, a 49ers game and Moulin Rouge.

Last weekend, Corino tried to "murder" Homicide and yet here Homicide stalled and wrestled him instead. Throughout the match Homicide would insult Corino's kid and they decide on a audible (according to Corino) to do the handshake embrace deal. It worked for Cabana and Homicide but this was something different. This was a rivalry that spanned most of ROH's history. Gabe does this alot, sets hype big and disapoints in the clutch. He either relies on the talent to salvage the show (which they usually do) or he'll get too cute for his own good and it ruins everything. They did this with Daniels/Punk last year by going with a draw instead of the logical war they should have had. Gabe is the best overall booker around but sometimes he gets these lapses and he comes off not asa Paul Heyman disciple but rather a Russo one. ROH runs 35-40 shows a year now and they usually have 5 flat shows, which is pretty good but when they have a flat show or poorly booked show (which last night was), it really stands out more then a high quality show would. I really didn't like how Sydal steps up big time and hangs with Kenta (in his last match in ROH for 2006) and with Gabe pushing that Sydal is the future, just for Joe to come out and brush Sydal off to do his bit about Kobashi. I'm also glad that Cornette is gone from ROH now because he was too cliche and generic during his tenure. I know people like to think Cornette is the smartest man in the business but when he does the same tired 80's act in 2006, it becomes sadder by the day.
-
Yeah, aside from KENTA/Sydal which has gotten rave reviews as you would expect, the rest of the show has been slammed especially the Cornette stuff. I get that Gabe probably had short notice with Cornette's departure but he should have been able to come up something better. ROH rarely gets flat shows and especially with negative reaction like this but when it happens off a show with big hype like Corino/Cide got especially with how good the Philly shows have been, it's not good.

What happens if a conference winner ties? What's the tie-breaker, Head to Head?

RVD Vs Hardcore Holly-9/26/06 (The most talked about ECW match, yet) CM Punk Vs Mike Knox (Since they’ll probably cover that feud and either the match on Tuesday or a future re-match will be used) RVD/Sabu Vs Knox and Test-9/5/06 (one of the better brawls they have done in the new ECW) Kelly Kelly “Highlight” package The Big Show Vs Sabu (Any of their many matches, just to present the TBS title reign) I’m sure they can add another decent match in the next 6 episodes to add to this special show and I’m sure they’ll recap the PPV as well. Wouldn't be surprised if they show RVD/Angle just for Angle jobbing. All that would fill up the timeslot.

Can't believe I went from being like 0-5 to being 4-6 knocking on the door for the title. Hooray for a soft conference.

LIVE RING OF HONOR RESULTS FROM PHILADELPHIA by Mike Johnson @ 7:45:00 PM on 11/4/2006 We are live at Ring od Honor's return to their homebase of Philadelphia, PA. *Christopher Daniels pinned M-Dogg 20 Matt Cross with Angel's Wings. ROH Tag Team champions Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli hit the ring from the crowd and attacked both. Allison Danger jumped on Claudio's back but Hero punched her in the face. Austin Aries and Roderick Strong hit the ring and brawled through the crowd with the Kings of Wrestling. Matt Sydal hit the ring to check on Daniels. Daniels challenged Hero and Castagnoli to face them when they were done with Strong and Aries. *ROH Commissioner Jim Cornette came to the ring with Shane Hagadorn. Cornette ripped on the fans, saying he returned because the last time he was here, Homicide spit in his face. He said what was worse was that the fans took Homicide's side after all Cornette had done to help ROH. He said that knowing it's Cornette's vow to ruin Homicide's career, Homicide brought Konnan with him. He ripped on LAX's claims of racism. He said the rules for Corino vs. Homicide will feature Hagadorn as the special referee with Anything Goes for Corino while Homicide will be DQ'd if he cheats. He said Homicide needs to pin Corino for a 10 count. Homicide, Konnan, Ricky Reyes, and Julius Smokes came to the ring. Konnan ripped on Cornette and defended the fans. Konnan said he was here to make sure Cornette didn't stack the decks against Homicide. He tore apart Cornette and Southerners like him. He asked Cornette why Reyes isn't getting more matches. Cornette said he isn't good enough. Konnan challenged him to do Reyes vs. Hagadorn right now. Cornette agreed. Hagadorn said no but Cornette ordered him to wrestle. *Ricky Reyes choked out Shane Hagadorn after several minutes. The crowd expected a quick match, chanting "30 seconds." Crowd wasn't deeply into it and seemed surprised when Hagadorn was on offense. *Currently in the ring is Pele Primeau won a Four Corners match over Colt Cabana, BJ Whitmer, and Tank Toland. The match was designed to make Primeau into something of a Mikey Whipwreck upset kid as he took a ton of abuse before shocking Toland with a rollup. He jumped into the crowd in celebration and they crowd surfed him into the bleachers. He returned to shake hands but Toland refused and walked of. *Samoa Joe & Nigel McGuinness defeated ROH Champion Bryan Danielson & Jimmy Rave when McGuinness hit a rebound clothesline on Rave as Danielson and Joe brawled to the back. After the match, Jimmy Rave hopped in the crowd and went after a fan that threw toilet paper, but security grabbed him. McGuinness took the mic and told Rave to act like a professional. Pretty sure that was an angle for whatever Rave's new direction is. *Jim Cornette came out and said that since Hagadorn couldn't referee, the main event was cancelled and Homicide was fired. Homicide and his crew came out. Konnan asked the fans who should be fired and they picked Cornette. Security dragged Cornette to the back. Whatever they intended here, not sure they accomplished it. *Briscoes defeated Delirious & Davey Richards after hitting a spike J-Driller on Delirious for the pin. ROH Tag Team champs Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli defeated Austin Aries & Roderick Strong, DQ when Aries used a briefcase Hero brought into the ring and was DQ'd. All four brawled into the crowd and out of the building. *KENTA pinned Matt Sydal with Go To Sleep in the best match of the show thus far. It was a really competitive bout designed to show Sydal could hang with the top of the roster. After the match KENTA, who was making his final appearance here for several months, thanked the fans and ROH. Samoa Joe came out and said that when he first came across KENTA in Japan, he didn't think much of him. He said he felt the same when KENTA came to ROH but he was man enough to state when he was wrong and said KENTA proved himself. He said he had an important message to send back to NOAH and Kenta Kobashi, and slapped KENTA. The locker room emptied and Joe stalked off. **Homicide pinned Steve Corino with a lariat in a bloody Fight Without Honor that saw a barbed wire bat, tables and more.

This will teach Michigan not to ignore the MAC bottom dwellers waiting for the Buckeyes. I mean, Ball State probably won't pull it off but it never should have been questionable this late.
-
At least Diddy isn't talking about running for office anymore. It's not like Bond has meant anything in the past decade, so who cares who plays the guy.
-
PALUMBO. They got Claudio. If they don't get Hero with the package, then Palumbo/Castagnoli is a must.
-
Knoble/Yang seems too obvious.
-
That might have been the longest squash in years.
-
I'm not saying that it IS the reason. It's very possible that they will just use Colt for a angle instead with Rave issuing the challenge.
-
Nigel/Cabana is always fun though but they aren't to wrestle each other again at least for 2006. It's possible Cabana might still be feeling the effects of his car accident and decided to take the night/weekend off.
-
It's a 2 pos. game difference with tons of time left to play.

This wasn't a HR show. It stuck to the moody depressing tone that burdened the third season and didn't really advance anything other then Summer's changing of personality. Seth is loner again. Kirsten and Sandy are the same people. Only Julie and Ryan are affected by Marissa's death. It still has awhile to go before it can approach the magic of season 1 or even the awesomeness of season 2 at the end.
