Really? Perfect could have always been a main eventer, he was never pushed high enough as one. As far as the unique personality goes....have you've never seen Curt Henning work? His gimmick and everything was so great about him. He was honestly one of the greatest heels and in-ring wrestlers during his time. Jus because no one pushed him to the main event status he should have been in for years doesn't mean a dvd that highlights his career is off the wall. Henning was one of the most underrated and underused wrestlers there was in Pro Wrestling, period. You missed the point. Henning was a great worker, that's not being disputed. It has nothing to do with the fact he could have been a main event act or never got pushed. It's about being truly random since you could say the same about many other people like Rick Rude, Ted Dibiase, Arn Anderson, Paul Orndorff, Owen Hart and others. Selling a DVD on the premise of "He could have and should have been a legend, but he wasn't...because we didn't push him" isn't exactly the most enthralling concept since he didn't have the personality beyond the ring like Pillman and Roberts to augment the bio piece. They'll have people put over his athleticism, his arrogance, his work along with fun stories about him and touch on the drug abuse that lead to his death but once again, you could do that about other people in the past. I'm not against doing a Perfect DVD and I hope it's the start of releasing more and more comprehensive pieces about lesser name stars (although they have a great deal of big names to get to first, namely Andre) but let's face it, compared to the rest of the planned released according to that report, Perfect stands out.

I think we can safely assume WWE won't be doing any cross promotion. TNA, on the other hand will probably want to have Angle and others do cameos, even if it is a negative take at the business. -
ROH NYC Weekend Shows (12.29-PPV, 12.30-Final Battle 2007)

ROH has done a great job of building up Briscoes and their dominance in 2/3 falls matches. When a team finally scores a fall (not a victory, just a fall) over the Briscoes, it'll be huge. -
Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Hawk 34 replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, that might be the case but WWE isn't going to erase his history. How is it bad for business that they'll keep him included on anthologly sets (try having those with Benoit erased) and in the title histories? They aren't promoting his name at all or even referencing him. -

Settle down, Marvin. -
While I believe the answer is probably "Tradition/habit" as well as secure fanbases but why did WCW hold so many PPV's at the same venue almost every year? Bret has a severe identity crisis and refused to have his name and legacy buried in that manner. I'm not sure Savage really cares in the way Bret does. They'll do a Savage DVD because it'll do good in sales. In reality, Perfect is a more off the wall choice. He wasn't a main event star, nor does he have some really unique personaltiy that called for it (Pillman and Roberts for instance) and didn't make a largely significant impact on the business like others. He was just a talented worker that died young.

I still think Kane will play the role of the Rumble place holder contender this time. -

It's non-press. The Wrestler will be directed by Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain). -

Edge and Christian weren't exactly brilliant promo artists when they broke through. Hell, I don't think either spoke for months. -

Who are you refering to? JR did his job and sold it as a big deal, because in the context of the show itself, it was a big deal. They included it on the DVD because it was the last significant thing to occur before they pressed the DVD. -

Everyone who has posed for Playboy under the WWE banner has sold copies. You take any of the divas over the past 10 years since WWE started the semi-annual Playboy shoot and put them on the cover and it'll do good business. -
I'm resting my starters this week.

I'm assuming they'll have a canopy of sorts elevated over the ringside arena like they did for WM9, where they'll have lights and pyro set up. I don't think Cena needs to return at WM. Orton-HHH was the match I expected from the start and really, despite what the negative minded people believe, Orton and HHH are the top heel and face of Raw. -
This was the last WCW ppv I ever brought. In 1999, WWF was pretty horrid from an in-ring standpoint but they suckered me into buying 3-5 PPVs that year and I always left disapointed. WCW had strong stuff in the ring but the booking and aura of the product was so frustratingly insipid (not unlike TNA), that I refused to order a single PPV from them. In fact, from this show until its death, I don't think WCW ever produced a quality PPV with the sole exception of Spring Stampede 1999 which had all sorts of kick ass matches (Juventud/Blitz Krieg, Benoit/Melenko-Saturn/Raven, Mysterio/Kidman, a fun hardcore brawl and a intriguing main event). That show was comparable to the WWF 2000 run of shows. Sadly, after this show WCW pissed all that down the drain.

I thought Sweeney was a wider release this weekend, which is why I thought the numbers were a let-down but since that isn't the case, I'm glad to see it's being so well received.

If you're going to praise a coach for supposedly being so good when they win, then you have criticize them for when they perform poorly.

That's not a surprise. Depp's box office clout (which doesn't really exist outside of POTC) taking a hit with a poor showing for Sweeny Todd is what I took more notice of. Kudos for Juno, which should grow as they expand to more screens next week.

That was a easy week. Glad I won't have to scoreboard watch the Arizona game.

This game should effectively end all talks of Cleveland being a dangerous team.

It would make sense because Orton went out of his way to piss off Batista at the XV special and the easy set up would be for Batista to challenge him after winning the Rumble as a battle of Evolution. What you want to see or don't want to see is irrelvant. I wouldn't fret, though. Batista is due for another muscle tear by February.
