  1. Any Web Designers? I got my hands on a copy of the educational edition of this for Mac and I have no use for it. I put it on eBay at a rate lower then you can get anywhere else... if anyone is interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:IT&ih=012 I thought some here might be interested. At the price I listed it, it should be gone within a few days. Just thought I'd give a heads up.
  2. I haven't seen this story any place credible.
  3. Only the editor can determine how shocking this loss truly is.
  4. It's nice to see a writer who cared about her story so much. I anxiously await her next project.
  5. He might not even be on the island anymore. He might just be in flashes.

    ESPN.com redesign

I really like it. I think my favorite part is the scrolling baseball scoreboard at the top of the page. If only you can get rid of that damn video that starts playing whenever you visit.
  7. He died from bleeding in his artery. It didn't even hit his head...it hit him in the neck directly underneath the ear. There's a small possibility that a helmet might have not even helped.

    Parallels

Anybody else have this bad ass piece of Software? I could only play poker on one site, due to having a Mac, so I got this and now with the flick of a button I can bounce between OS X and XP. Very handy. And it's so cool having XP "start up" in what essentially looks like a web browser. I only really use Windows for Poker now, but I'm glad I got this...just in case.
  9. The diner scene has to be in the movie just for the stark change of pace to the world we've been accustomed to. I pictured it as a dirty, sleazy diner. Plus it was kind of a cool scene. It really doesn't advance the plot, though, so it probably won't make it.
  10. Deadspin had the radio call. It's typical..."oh, that's gonna leave a mark" announcer talk. A little chilling considering what actually happened.
  11. So the Yeah Yeah Yeahs released an EP today called Is Is that was recorded between Fever to Tell and Show Your Bones. I think it will greatly please the people who enjoyed FTT and hated SYB. Lots of wailing guitars, random screams by Karen O and energetic rocking out. It's a pretty solid five song collection.
  12. It seems to me that luke-o is always REALLY happy to be wherever he's at.
  13. Drew Carey? It's official. I don't know what to think... I don't think I like it.
  14. Fuck me. Oops. I knew I recognized him. Damn it, he gained weight. Those guys are really similar looking.
  15. Tonight was ok. It was nice to see Vito Spatafore as Turtle's cousin, but Walsh wasn't exactly his usual awesome self tonight. I really think that he's going to end up fucking Dana Gordon to kill the picture somehow, but that's a bit far fetched. The highlight of tonight was Ari and Lloyd, which was just classic Ari awesomeness. The rest...meh.
  16. That was probably my favorite episode. The first song to cheer Brett up and the entire conversation afterwards about dressing him up in a wig was hilarious, as was just about everything in the episode. "Ok we really need to be at our tops for this. Brett, don't be bulimic. Jemaine, look after Brett. And me, well, don't screw this up, I guess would be what I would need to do."
  17. No they don't! Harry's parents and a combo of Dumbledore and Snape. Now Malfoy's boy Scorpius...that's terrible. Was anyone else slightly thrown off that Lily and James were killed in 1981...meaning, in effect, that the whole story took place from 1992-1998? That means Harry Potter is older then me. Weird.
  18. He's a fucking idiot. It takes me two hands to rattle off all the marlins teammates he has gotten into fistfights with. I think Drew and Verlander were pretty equally rated going into that draft talent wise, but I believe there were some signability issues with Drew, which proved to be true when he almost held out the entire year.
  19. Don't forget Nagini. I think that sort of counts as a main character. My favorite parts were when Hermione dropping the basilisk fangs to make out with Ron, all because he stood up for house elves; Harry unveiling himself from the cloak to take on Carrows after he spat on MacGonnagal (You shouldn't have done that...awesome); and Mrs. Weasley's NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH before killing Beatrix.
  20. I read the whole thing in about 8 hours reading time. I loved the entire thing. I think my favorite part was Mrs. Weasley. Nothing really seemed to drag, that much, but I can see why people would say that. Fitting end. I'm satisfied.
  21. As for Matt Bush, Verlander was the consensus number one overall that year but the Padres went with the local kid they knew they could sign. He celebrated his contract by getting into a barfight (natch) and then went on to be one of the biggest busts at the plate ever. If he can make it as a reliever, great, but he's already firmly cemented as a huge #1 overall bust.
  22. True. That's a good point. I was just wondering because if it triples in any athlete over a normal person I thought there was a small possibility that Sherk could even increase more. But probably not.
  23. I'm curious about this. The normal concentration of what Sherk tested for is 2 ng/ml. In a training athlete it's 6 ng/ml. Sherk was around 12 ng/ml. Is it within the realm of possibility at all that the insane workout they talk about all the time actually pushed it that high?
  24. Bill Simmons doesn't even remotely suck. I'm tired of this shit. Hurry up and name me five better sportswriters on the internet. I can only name one, Will Leitch, and he's not so much a sportswriter so much as a blogger.
