Hey Bruiser, the guy the Cubs took in the 1st round was projected 3rd or 4th round. Apparently the Cubs didn't want to pay slot money so they underdrafted (ie they were being cheap). If you want to hear out and out hilarity, go to phillies.com and listen to Kyle Drabeck's draft interview.

This is the weakest draft in about 5 years. It's gonna cause a guy like Drew Stubbs, who is an all world fielder with a questionable major league level bat to be among the first position players chosen. While I think it might be a good idea to trade Dontrelle to the Dodgers or D-Backs, apparently Larry Beinfest isn't even letting teams make offers for him. He cuts them off before they even get the chance. I think they are really serious about hanging on to him. I honestly think they'll be back around .500 as soon as next season - so it wouldn't be too bad to keep Dontrelle. Well - if it's the first round you won't get the chance but otherwise... if you get the chance to see UNC you should go. Andrew Miller will be the #1 pick in the draft and his teammate Daniel Bard should also go in the top half of the first round. Two excellent pitchers.
