  2. Can't comment on the validity of this statment, but I just read elsewhere that the Marlins traded Al Leiter to the Yankees in exchange for $1.00. Yes, the Yankees took part of his salary, but the official returning piece was $1.00. I guess a bag of balls wasn't available.
  3. He and Mike Myers were on TV for the Katrina benefit. Kanye went off on a diatribe about how the National Guard was all on their way to New Orleans to kill "our people" and that George Bush hates black people. He was then immediately cut off. I just caught a few seconds of it, so I could be missing some of it - slightly off. I know Kanye is all about bringing attention to himself, but this was in the middle of a televised benefit. I think the shit from conservative America is about to hit the fan.
  4. Interesting point... What would Anglesault say about the Yankees making the playoffs as a wild card? If you remember, he always ranted about how the wild card was a disgrace and you weren't a good team if you weren't capable of winning your own division. Do you think that tune would be changed, or would he clutch that notion to the grave? I don't know why that popped into my mind, but it's probably an indication that I've been here for too long.
  5. 8 1/3 pitched, 2 ER, win #19 for Dontrelle. I just hope someday he can pull it together and be an ace.
  6. For any Curb Your Enthusiasm fans.. I was going through the new DVD yesterday and in Episode 4.6 - The Car Pool Lane, Jorge Garcia plays the drug dealer who sells Larry medicial marijuana for his father's glaucoma. It's a funny scene and maybe worth tracking down if you can get a fast download on a Torrent or such. I remembered the scene, but I guess at the time I didn't know who he was. Sorta like watching "Dude, Where's My Car?" now and recognizing Zoltan's girlfriend as Chloe from 24.
  7. Actually, Czech, I was referring to the Brewers announce team when they were on MLB.TV, which didn't include Uecker. And after a quick look-up, apparently their names are Daron Sutton and Bill Schroeder. Just awful.
  8. I like Rich Waltz and Tommy Hutton. Rich is a nice enthusiastic play by play man and Hutton is very knowledgeable. You want homerism, listen to the Brewers or Diamondbacks.
  9. Marlins are going to throw out Willis, Beckett, Burnett for the Mets series. All three pitch better at home than on the road. Hopefully they can sweep. If they don't win the series, at the least, it's a major problem.
  10. Forgive me if this is obvious and I'm totally missing the connection, but is the beat for Drive Slow a Tupac beat? I can't find any of my old Tupac CDs to check myself, but it definitely reminds me of or is one.
  11. The Marlins top prospect Jeremy Hermida just hit a grand slam in his first major league plate appearance. Hell yeah.
  12. Am I the only one who is really digging "Heard Em' Say?" It's probably my favorite song on the album, or very close to it.
  13. If you haven't seen Felix pitch yet, watch the game. It's worth it.
  14. Lop.
  15. More good teams in the NL = worse records for all teams involved.
  16. I swear that didn't come up in my search. And I searched tv show torrents in google. Thanks.
  17. I know I'm way behind, but I just mastered torrents and now I am trying to hunt down the season 2 episodes of Entourage and Curb when season 5 starts in a few weeks. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good site with HBO torrents? Did a google search, but didn't come up with anything I thought looked good (and easy).
  18. Just google Maria Santos... It's a character on All My Children apparently, and this "girl" sort of resembles her...
  19. Whoa, the NL WC is tight. 1. Marlins 1. Phillies 3. Mets - 0.5 GB 3. Astros - 0.5 GB And in the GOOD NEWS department, Jeremy Hermida is IN MIAMI! Tomorrow is the deadline for postseason rosters and he is in Florida and sat with Loria in the owner's box tonight. They are trying to determine if his wrist is healthy enough to call him up for the post season roster. In my opinion, they would be fools if they didn't - I honestly think he can push them over the edge.
  20. Marlins coughed up a 4-0 lead to the Cards to go down 5-4 in the 8th. But for once this year, they rallied for 3 runs in the 8th on a Castillo bunt, a Cabrera single (warning track), Delgado triple, and an Encarnacion sac fly. It's good to see that this team is actually capable of a necessary comeback.
  21. I also picked up Curb, but the local Best Buy had many copies.
  22. Got my hands on it today. A bit more than half way through and I have to say I really enjoy it. Apparently they recorded 45 songs and shed it down to these final 12. I know they probably aren't the most popular band on these boards, but I'm still a big fan and three years since the last album is really making me appreciate this one even more. Anybody else pick it up yet? I'm sure a ton of people are going to mention that they have sucked since Naveed, but I disagree.
  23. iTunes is, in my opinion, un-matched as a music player. And keep in mind, the player is completely separate from the store.
  24. So much for the pitcher's duel in Florida. 5-0 Cards.
  25. We're just about ready to hit the home stretch. Great pitching matchup in St. Louis tonight as AJ Burnett faces off against Chris Carpenter. Also Boston faces off against the suddenly very hot D-Rays.
