The only real problem I had with BJ during the Sherk fight was the apology. Any disrespect, including the blood licking is fine to me because Sherk is a punk. He cheated while as a champion and then whined for months that he didn't deserve to lose the belt. I like it when fighters show each other class and respect after the fight but that's not always warranted. Sometimes you just don't like a person. So - I repeat. The only problem I had with BJ was apologizing afterwards. Oh, and also putting up a video a month or so ago of him and Sherk hanging out. Fuck that.

I'm really stoked for this card. Silva/Machida is just a great fight. Silva is a perfect fighter for Machida's style, at least I think. The fact that this fight is on free TV is just thrilling to me. And Bisping vs. Leben is no main event, sure, but it's definitely a fight I want to see. It's Bisping's first real test at 185 and if he looks as impressive as he did in his first two fights then that's something to get excited about. Those two fights alone and I'm hooked but Jardine/Vera is huge and awesome as well, both guys really need to win or in Vera's case really need to look good winning. I'd pay for this card.

There's a big difference between BJ's dickishness and Matt Hughes. Matt Hughes is trying to humiliate people and be BMOC...that's the kind of stuff I can't stand. BJ is just a sarcastic wiseass and since that rings true to me a bit I seem to enjoy it. I have nothing legit bad to say about GSP... he's obviously one of, if not the, classiest fighters in all of MMA but I just find myself liking Penn better.

This could turn out to be very interesting.

The fight is five months away and the discussion has already spilled into multiple threads. We have very vocal supports on both sides. It's war. First off: HUGE THANKS TO STEVIEKICK FOR THE BANNERS! I was thinking that we can do something with this. Obviously we know who is siding with who via banners, but I was thinking that we lock it after a certain date. After that date whoever has the banner is in the contest. After the fight I will capture the most humiliating picture of the loser I can find from the fight and all of the members of the losing team have to sport that as their signature for either 1 or 2 weeks. For those of you who were fans of The Format before they broke up (and I know I wasn't the only one on this board)... Nate started a new band with some other dudes. All they have is a demo on MySpace now but it's not bad. This was apparently recorded the first day they were together as a band... so I give it a slight pass for not being the best. Kazuo Misaki's first bout on US soil will occur at the next "Strikeforce at the Playboy Mansion" card and be against none other then Joe Riggs. Misaki/Akiyama is probably still on my top 5 favorite fights of the past year. Hopefully he can do well in the US.

Upon rewatching the fights I paid more attention to what the corners said to each fighter during the round breaks. When I watch the PPV that's when I usually post on here or get a drink or whatever. Brock's corner was repeatedly telling him to use hammerfists, which means he's being coached into this boring awful strategy. Hammerfists, IMO, are about the worst thing Brock can do on a regular basis. Bas Rutten said it best when he said short elbows and Brock is unbeatable. Hell, even a few loaded punches. There's nothing wrong with hammerfists but as your primary gnp weapon? I don't know. As for the fight being boring - yes, it sort of was. But that doesn't mean Brock didn't do anything. Heath Herring is probably unrecognizable today. The punches don't look like much but consider the size of the hand and the strength of the man throwing them and they add up quick.

Unless you are the 2007 Colorado Rockies.

UFC is paying Brock nearly $500k a fight (if he wins). He's not going anywhere.
