In responce to Al, I have to say that TO has obviously been a helluva player on the field. However, I can't give him all that much credit for the teams he has been on. The Niners had the Rice/Young combo and were SuperBowl Champions a few short years before Owens arrived. They were not suddenly lifted to greatness because he was drafted. As far as the Eagles, they had a nice NFC championship run BEFORE TO was even signed. I'm no way taking credit away from how he helped the team on the field but it's not like Owens joins a team and instantly they are awesome.

The thing about Machine that I found interesting was his motivation: "I do it because I like to" or however the line went. I thought him being a relatively normal looking person added more effect to the creepiness of it.

I tell people that I'm watching NWA and just ignore the TNA part. As far as the show itself, the number may be disappointing since it didn't grow. But, NWA on Spike TV is still relatively new. There would be bigger problems if the rating went down. I think the company is doing fine. They have a core audience to build off of and I think the signing of Christian will have a HUGE impact.

If he was so in demand, why were the only two bidders Philly and Baltimore when he left the 49ers? Owens is out of excuses. Star QB's, winning teams, etc. are gone because of what happened in Philly. If Owens gets another shot, which he may, it'll be a short term deal with a team desperate to sell some tickets and produce quick stats.

As far as the Raiders go: TO will NOT sign for a low salary Oakland doesn't have the money to pay him what he wants Kerry Collins doesn't scream big name, franchise QB They're having a hard enough time splitting time between Moss/Porter Fans in California know TO as much as anyone. They won't accept it. I can see how some fans might be excited about the talents of TO, but I really think he's done. On the field he's amazing. But, Owens burnt bridges with San Fran, Baltimore, and now Philly. Philly got exactly what they paid for. Any other team who is willing to take a risk on Owens will know exactly what they are getting because his attitude will not change.

Yeah, I get that feeling. I didn't think for an instant that the Phillies would pursue someone like Epstein or Cashman. The owner/management don't like the type of GM that would want to come in and change everything. Manuel should be happy about this.

One of the guys on Comcast had a minor conspiracy theory today. Basically, to promote Ruben Amaro Jr. would be a PR problem since he'd be viewed as being from the same vein as Ed Wade. So, they hired a guy who is 68 years old. Give him 3 years or so, and if they don't get to the playoffs, either he's too old and retires or they use that as their excuse to promote Amaro. Does this sound plausible or is it just stupid?
