Guest notJames Report post Posted June 17, 2003 The mob has spoken! Or rather, the voice of reason and common sense has taken down a rant that was obviously a conflict of interest and should never have been posted in the first place. Stupid 1humans.

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Earlier today a column was posted on 1Wrestling.com that was written by Vince Russo. The column contained Russo's thoughts on last night's episode of RAW. The response to the column was overwhelming, with reaction split almost down the middle. Some readers loved the column and looked forward to more, and some thought the column was a conflict of interest and that it was inappropriate for someone who is an on-air TNA talent to write a column criticizing their competition. In others words some agreed with him, and some people can't and won't put the old WCW behind them. It's like 'Russo's saying the same stuff as we are...he must be copying us because he made David Arquette champ 3 years ago.' THREE YEARS. He made some good points, but because he's Russo people can't accept it.

Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I don't know. Bob Ryder bashes WWE every chance he can get in his TNA column on the TNA website. I guess management was afraid that WWE might start using Russo's columns to help them book and improve their product.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Well golly garsh there sarge, but the whole David Arquette thing was like I don't know... THE WORST BOOKING MOVE EVER! It's really funny that people don't forget that sort of thing. Russo made some good points sure about what the WWE does wrong, but at the same time he's running in to cause a change in the World Title again. It's like Stalin writing about what a complete bastard Hitler was.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Dammit, now we won't get to hear Russos unique and insightful brand of criticism... ...That has been said time and time again on this board, and in much better ways than that.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2003 As a website that is SUPPOSED to be unbiased (despite the owner having a stake in TNA), having TNA's head booker critizing WWE's programming makes the bias look pretty fucking blatant, so that's my guess why they took it down. Dames
Guest JRE Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Not to mention that Russo still screws up in TNA. Fire up all the "I'm working with new people" excuses you want, but he's still the lead. Hell, why can't WWE use that same excuse....there's new people working together over there. Yeah, shut up Russo....go book yourself to interfere in some more main events. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I guess management was afraid that WWE might start using Russo's columns to help them book and improve their product. By "improve", do you mean that Vince will book himself to go over Lesnar in a HIAC match?
Guest JRE Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Too bad they took the column down...I wanted to see Russo's praise for the Steph/Sable angle over on SmackDown.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted June 17, 2003 keep in mind I fucking HATE Russo, he is 100% right in my opinion. I am actually kind of marking out for Russo....RUSSO.....what the hell is going on here!!!!!

Dames Ah, I didn't know the site's ower has stake in TNA. In that case I agree that (in a way) it could be considered a conflict of interest. Still there are a few points where he doesn't trash WWE.. Murmuring Beast 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Even though I don't agree with everything he says, you're an ass if you don't think a column like that is intriguing or interesting.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Actually, Russo was still the booker when Vince won the title on SD in 1999. And to whomever said Russo was kissing Dunn's ass to get re-hired...he already was re-hired in June 2002. After meeting with the writers he was then demoted (supposedly due to Steph & HHH) to review the shows just like he did for 1wrestling.
Guest notJames Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Even though I don't agree with everything he says, you're an ass if you don't think a column like that is intriguing or interesting. Dost thou not suspect my place? Dost thou not suspect my years? O that he were here to write me down an ass! But masters, remember that I am an ass. Though it be not written down, yet forget not that I am an ass. I agree with Dogberry. I found it neither intriguing nor interesting. It's nothing that hasn't been said before. Having it come from Russo's pickled pate makes it even less relevant to me.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 17, 2003 APO, I believe Russo was gone by the time Vince was winning titles. I was talking about when Russo booked himself to go over Booker T in whatever they called that HIAC rip-off on Nitro.

Guest JHawk Report post Posted June 17, 2003 My main thought: Kane/Van Dam promo? Now, I really haven’t watched “Raw” for about five years, so I have to ask: Did they ever explain why Kane can now speak normal English? I mean, he called Rob Van Dam a “DUDE”. Didn’t he used to have a voice box and the whole thing? Wasn’t he a monster badly burned in a fire a few years back? What happened? Forgetting all that, what this was was a really bad soap opera. I’m sorry—people just don’t talk like that in real life. They only talk like that if they’re part of a bad television show. And wasn't the angle where he lost the voice box during the Kane/X-Pac tag team...that Russo himself created? That was broken up six weeks after Russo left? Did he forget his own angle? Guest Nunzio Cardozo Report post Posted June 17, 2003 This guy is trying WAY too hard to be Scott Keith. He must be using his sloppy grammar as a gimmick to try and make a name for himself, because it sure isn't his content or writing style. Leave the rips and rants to the people who know what they are talking about, you no-talent hack.

bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2003 So Russo... head booker and on air talent for TNA (head booker being the more important to this situation)... was being PAID by 1w to criticize WWE... 1w owner who has a financial stake in TNA and is involved in TNA operations... Oh no, NO conflict of interest there at all!
Guest The Hamburglar Report post Posted June 17, 2003 So, Russo has a problem with Kane being able to speak? Because God knows, that's a much worse character aberration than that whole Undertaker evil Satanic Minister thing? What balls. Russo should stick to fucking up Total Nonstop Spotathon and writing angles with people going around wearing KKK uniforms.
