How is he going to get any momentum going when they have him on Velocity instead of the Albert/Orlando match? Why don't we have brackets for this phantom US Title tournament? Did Billy Gunn just advance over Cena? I hope this means that Eddie will be the 4th guy on the tournament and not some prick like Albert. Damn, WWE has already pissed on Ultimo Dragon by putting him in a dark match just ONE WEEK after his debut. Dragon might as well go back to Japan where he can get more respect again. Ring rust probably. He's only just got here, I wouldn't cry fuck up just yet. So Big Show gets built up as the only man who can defeat Brock Lesnar, goes over a variety of opponents, made to look unstoppable... just to lose to a cripple? Ah well. I can't wait to see Zach with the strap... no wait, they won't give him that... Well, Zach wrestling those... no... um...err... what now? I take it you haven't seen Gowan wrestle yet RRR. He's not 'just a cripple', he can wrestle better than half the Smackdown roster. Considering he does it on one leg, that's a pretty big accomplishment. Can't wait for Smackdown to air, and some guys who've never seen him get the chance to see him. Of course, I doubt he does much but bump. RRR: A BIG fan of Rudo Eddie. But that's not what Eddie needs right now. BIG: Agrees 100% Although Tajiri/Eddie is going to own kick ass. -Noble and Nidia got out of a limo earlier in the day- Nidia showed off her (fake) fur coat and Noble showed off his new sunglasses. Well, at least this is a start. Should be good if they're on the show next week. Zach and Steph beat Big Show in a No-DQ handicap match. Angle and Lesnar both interfered to help Zach and Steph. Vince hit Angle with a chair to no avail. Zach moonsaulted onto Big Show for the pin. Well, Angle/Lesnar/Show at Vengeance. Don't see why everyone's so down on this. It's obvious face versus face Angle vs Lesnar won't work the way it's booked. Well the detailed Smackdown shows it wasn't that bad... Agreed...I'm actually looking forward to it. I figure they kept both Angle and Lesnar out of the ring this week to let them heal a bit from their injuries. My thoughts exactly People complained that Benoit and Rhyno were on Velocity, and now they're not. Be happy about it, watch the match and enjoy it. Did anybody say anything about that? Who didn't? Benoit appears on one Velocity and suddenly he's dead and buried. And you say AS overreacts. Benoit + Shaniqua = Crap. Shaniqua=Crap. Seriously, she looked MANLY when she debuted with the Bashams. Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted July 2, 2003 An even more detailed report from 411wrestling.com. Read the last paragraph closely: Starts with a recap of Zach-Vince-Steph from last week. Vince then does a backstage promo to highlight the main event of Big Show vs Zach and Steph. Kidman sits in the front row. (1) Rey Mysterio faces Nunzio for the Cruiserweight belt. FBI is sent to the back but reappear later to interfere and the APA make the save and Rey hits the 619 and a springboard legdrop to get the win. Kidman jumps the rail to celebrate with Rey. Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle do a backstage skit. (2) Chris Benoit and Rhyno beat the Bashams w/ Shaniqua after a tap out to the Crossface. Vince and Steph talk about the main event backstage. Steph and Sable talk backstage. Noble and Nidia are seen arriving in a limo to the arena and they tip the limo driver and then take back the tip. Undertaker gives Orlando Jordan a pep talk about how to earn respect. Cena comes in and warns orlando about taking advice from Taker. (3) Billy Gunn w/ Torrie beat John Cena when the Undertaker rode his motorcycle out to distract Cena. Cena was way more over with the crowd than Gunn. Torrie is even better looking in person. Brock and Kurt do another skit where they challenge each other to a pushup contest. Lesnar goes first and after a break they show Lesnar struggling to get to 300. Angle then tells Lesnar he won without doing any pushups. (4) Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin beat Eddie Guerrero and Tajiri to become the new WWE tag team champs. This was easily the best match of the night. After the match, Eddie goes heel and suplexes Tajiri through the windshield of the lowrider truck that they drove out. Tajiri had all kinds of bloody cuts all over his back. He was stretchered out. A Mr America montage was shown. Big Show tries to intimidate Zach in the back. (5) A Train beat Orlando Jordan. Show has a creepy encounter with Steph and then he meets up with Vince and Sable. Vince and Sable come to the ring to do a promo. Vince shows footage from MSG last week that shows Mr America lifting his mask to reveal.....surprise, surprise Hulk Hogan, so Vince says that both Hogan and America are fired. Cheap way to explain off the parting of ways with Hogan. Vince also announces that tonight's main event will be a no DQ, no holds barred match. Also announced is that the main event for Vengeance is a 3 way for the WWE title between Brock, Kurt, and Big Show. (6) Big Show dominates the majority of the match against Zach and Steph. Zach wrestles the majority of the match on one leg. Kurt comes in to help out Zach and then Brock also comes out to help. Show takes an Angle Slam, an F5, and then Zach does a one legged moonsault to get the pin and the contract. Crowd goes absolutely bonkers over the finish. From his "Stephanie" voice, to his looking at the $60 weddings and mumbling "Whoa this stuff is rather steep" to the woman giving him the marriage license and HHH crumpling it up out of her sight while cutting the bull with her. Much of it is subtle and I noticed things last night I didn't notice before. It wasn't "hit you in the head with a brick" kind of comedy. HEELS CAN BE FUNNY. So why did he get over? Because his ringwork is solid (for his purpose of bumping around anyway) and people get a kick out of that guy making himself the joke that they cheer for him. And spent the majority of his (WWF, at least) career in the midcard, did he not? Spare two or three months a year in the mains. Just like Angle does now. And the height of Mick's main event run was as Cactus-not a self deprecating character. And that's exactly what's going on with Angle right now. How is that bad?
