Guest wwF1587 Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 credit ain'titcool.com yep this is gonna be horrible folks
Nighthawk Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I'm not one to judge a book by it's cover, but... ya, that sucks.
Guest T®ITEC Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 What is this for? ...Also, that is, ah, "ghey".
WrestlingDeacon Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 They're making a live action Garfield movie with a cgi cat, much like the Scooby-Doo movie. Take into account that only a teaser picture. I want to see the cat in motion on the screen first before juding it.
Guest Fook Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Why do studios think CGI is always better? A simple animated flick would be good enough.
Guest Eagan469 Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 You think Garfield's bad? Take a look at Heathcliff:
Guest Big_Jay101 Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 HOLY SHIT...are they making a Heathcliff? The Garfield one you can't really judge from that pic though. It dosen't show enough
godthedog Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 i wish people would stop going to these nostalgia marketing movies, so that studios would stop thinking they're a good idea.
Corey_Lazarus Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I dunno. I actually really enjoyed Scooby-Doo. It was actually pretty smart in parodying the series. And, of course, Troma alumni James Gunn wrote it, so how can I REALLY hate it? And Matthew Lillard as Shaggy was DEAD-FUCKING-ON.
Guest El Satanico Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I agree that doesn't really show you how it will look. I find it funny people saying "well now this is going to suck", when ther was never a doubt that it would suck. Other than the Holiday specials non-print Garfield was never that good. Such as that awful Garfield and Friends cartoon...i hated that show.
Lil' Bitch Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I'm scared to know who's going to play Jon... :S
the max Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I'm scared to know who's going to play Jon... :S http://us.imdb.com/Name?Meyer,%20Breckin
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I read the comic online every day (in color every day as opposed to just color on sundays..) For some reason the CGI Garfield looks a bit too hairy. The Heathcliff one looks stupid though. It looks pretty bad for CGI.
WrestlingDeacon Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I loved Garfield and Friends. It was actually a pretty clever little cartoon with the type of humor and sensibility of that old Warner Brothers cartoons, aimed at kids but with little bit to entertain the adults. My sister and I still referenced the series all the time such as the Gazornaplat World Record book, "27 pianos" and "those little red potatoes that your mother likes" Heathcliff looks more like generic 3D animation than true cgi.
razazteca Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I will not be happy until I see a CGI Odie. And yeah Breckin Meyer does suck.
Downhome Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I will not be happy until I see a CGI Odie. And yeah Breckin Meyer does suck. I thought Odie was just going to be played by a real dog. This Garfield picture isn't enough to say if it'll suck or be great. I think the picture looks pretty good myself.
Youth N Asia Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I don't think that one Garfield pic is enough to judge from
KingPK Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I'll have to see the trailer to make a judgement on the film. Crappy or not, I'll see it purely because I'm a Garfield and JLH fan (plays Liz the Vet). Bill Murray as the voice of Garfield shouldn't be bad, though.
Downhome Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Here are the "other" two leads, Breckin Meyer and Jennifer Love Hewitt... ...in character from the film, also from Aint-It-Cool.
Damaramu Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Didnt' Bill Murray or someone similar do the voice in the animate series? He'll be good. Odie has to be CGI. No real dog can look or act like Odie. I mean the pure mindlessness. But the question remains....will Jon be a dateless loser and will Nermal show up?
KingPK Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Lorenzo Music did the voice of animated Garfield, but he died a few years ago, so that's why they got Murray.
Guest Eagan469 Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Didnt' Bill Murray or someone similar do the voice in the animate series? He'll be good. Lorenzo Music was the voice of Garfield for almost 20 years. He died in August of 2001. Bill Murray and Dave Coulier are the only ones I can think of that would be suitable replacements.
CanadianChris Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Lorenzo Music did the voice of animated Garfield, but he died a few years ago, so that's why they got Murray. That's a funny coincidence, given that Music voiced Dr. Peter Venkman on The Real Ghostbusters, while Murray played the character in the movies.
Vern Gagne Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 What kind of storyline could a Garfield movie have. Most of the comic strips, and tv specials are Garfield laying around not doing anything.
Guest Choken One Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Who says you can't do a Movie like that?
MrRant Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Well the TV Show involved lasagne (sp)... so perhaps some EVIL~! corporation takes over his favorite lasagne manufacturer and Garfield is determined to fight it tooth AND claw. The horror.......
Downhome Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 I'm hoping that it involves everyone going back to the farm.
WrestlingDeacon Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Nah, they'll save that for the sequel.
