Guest The Decadent Slacker Report post Posted October 25, 2003 I like DiBiase. I'm not religious, I'm never planning on being religious (the closest to the idea of religion i have is sitting down with a microwave burrito & watching "Dogma"), but i like the fact he's interested in helping others & enjoys his work. Unlike most in that area, he appears to mean it. However, i don't really care about much when it's in a video game interview. Just me. This keeps getting better & better. Out of curiousity, can anyone dig up the IGN or whoever overall scores of the previous SD! games? Just as an idea of how reliable they might be? I have no idea what their reviews mean as far as quality, so i'm just curious.

Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Smackdown 2 has always been my personal favorite- the colors were crisp, the graphics were just fine, and my created characters looked better than they have in the last 2 Smackdown games. Plus, that was the last game to have Razor's Mullet (not Scott Hall's)
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 So this has been released in America according to IGN.com. Anybody picked it up yet and care to pry their eyes away from the television screen to give an opinion on it? UYI
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 Say what you will about DiBiase, but I will go to war against anyone who can honestly tell me they don't think DiBiase has the greatest laugh ever.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 If you want to see HCTP in action right now, somewhat, add mregan54 to your Yahoo list and view his webcam, and join the chat also? This is some guy that works for gamingring.com, the name is mike, and he got and advance copy of the game. He get's free tickets and everything from THQ to PPVs, and all sorts of things, so he's for real. Check it out.
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 A guy at an EB by me today said Tuesday, which surprised me cause of the usual delays. Plus he told me because I was looking at the strategy guide that was already on display, so I wouldn't be surprised. Some small time no visit places let these things slide out a few days early. Not too sure on how games always work, but movies are always in the store a few weeks advance, they just can't go out til the Distributor Specified Date. I don't know about a few weeks in advance.. but definitely at least a weekend [for movies, I mean]. My GF's store was selling Reloaded the weekend before it was supposed to be released. Sneaky bastards..
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 Movies are different though. A friend of mine used to work at blockbuster and he said sometimes they would get movies weeks before the release date. Games are another story, most stores I know sell them as soon they get them, and HCTP doesn't ship until tommorrow. It's just a day or so... I'm sure everyone will live. Sneaky bastards.. It's like that always. What's really stupid is Blockbuster's has this policy of even if the game is released during the week (like say SD:HTCP on Tuesday) the stores don't receive it till that Friday. Then the game sits over till the Tuesday of the week after the game is released because the store believes that gaming is a "hot novelty that will just fade out". ...and that was coming from the district manager of Blockbuster in my area (and formerly my head, head boss). Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 Nice trailer, I just hate how the Bra and Panties match thing seems to be the #1 selling point behind the game. I won't even give it a try.

As far as I know, both the UK & Australia recieve their games around the same time. HCTP is scheduled for release here in Oz around November 7th, so about another week away. Like with everything though, once stores get the game, they'll begin selling, whether that be on or before the date or not. UYI

PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 Gamespot.com just posted that the game has shipped... so it should be in stores today. http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/sports/wwesmac...ws_6077340.html "THQ announces that its latest WWE-licensed wrestling game for the PlayStation 2 has shipped to stores in North America. THQ has today announced the North American release of WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain for PlayStation 2. The game, which has been developed by Yuke's, features no less than 65 WWE superstars, an all-new season mode, and a number of match types new to the series including first blood, elimination chamber, and bra & panty. "Unlike its predecessors, WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain features a season mode in which the gamer actually earns cash to unlock legendary superstars, hidden arenas and costumes," said Nelo Lucich, vice president of interactive, JAKKS Pacific. "Because of the amount of attention put into each detail and mode, fans have a unique gaming experience each time they play. We expect this fifth title in the SmackDown! series to be yet another top seller." For more information on WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain, check out our full review of the game. Guest Scotsman Report post Posted October 27, 2003 I hate this so much about stupid video games. I'm hyped beyond belief, and I ain't even buying the damn thing. My buddy Jay is picking it up at 8am tomorrow, and we're just gonna play it all day. I'll not be able to sleep at night, and I'll get up at 7am all excited. Its No Mercy all over again. I miss last year, where I didn't even know SYM was released, and just walked into EB with a 200 degree temperature, sick as all hell, and saw it and just bought it.
