The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread

I say classify some moves as wear-downs and the others get a submission meter... anbd descrease the difficulty of getting a submission on smackdown level only slightly, to where you don't have to work so damned hard to get it.

My WWE Champions:

RAW

World Heavyweight Champion: Triple H

WWE Intercontinental Champion: The Rock

World Tag Team Champions: Evolution (Randy Orton & Batista)

WWE Hardcore Champion: Chris Benoit

WWE Women's Champion: Trish Stratus

SMACKDOWN!

WWE Champion: K. J. Thomas

WWE U.S. Champion: Booker T

WWE Tag Team Champions: Chris Jericho & Kane

WWE Cruiserweight Champion: Shawn Michaels

Triple H refuses to lose the World Heavyweight title, and Booker T won both the U.S. and WWE titles after I moved him to Smackdown!, even after jobbing on Raw. Chris Benoit has been the Hardcore Champion for like 3 or 4 full seasons by now, and The Rock hasn't lost the Intercontinental Title yet. Undertaker has had three very long WWE title reigns as well. Jericho/ Kane only won the tag straps because I started a new season and dethroned the team of K.J. Thomas and Undertaker. Jericho made Undertaker tap. :D

How about the moves the game STILL Elects not to add...

When I make Tully Blanchard im gonna get some half ass Suplex, because they don't have a Slingshot Suplex!

And why do we have to use the Papa Shango like Power Shoulderbreaker, what happen to the classic Shoulderbreaker?

Give All the damn submission moves the Tap out meter damn it..... Figure fours don't get a tap out meter??? My greg valentine has to do that like three times after in ring psychology of wearing the legs down to red.

Flair's Figure-4 gets a meter.

Great which means My Tito, Greg Valentine and Dusty Rhodes will have to go WOO before locking on the Figure four then for the finisher

Yeah, but not for Tito Santana or Greg Valentine...not to mention my Great Muta CAW. Although they have the Keiji Mutoh variation, but of course it doesn't bring up the submit bar.

I feel Trivia's pain. I was more pissed off that Cattle Mutilation wasn't in the game though. Especially since the Styles Clash & Ki Krusher were.

I feel your pain man, I hate having to use the Rings of Saturn for the Cattle Mutilation.

I'd just use the crossface. Their bodies are positioned in the same way as the mutilation, whereas the rings of saturn has a similar hold with an utterly different positioning. Plus the crossface is stronger and has a meter.

Very true. Plus, American Dragon has been known to bust out the Crossface every once and awhile.

For Low-ki's Dragon clutch Im one who also uses similar moves (Like Ventura's Sammartino's Rick Rude's) Body vice (Canadian back rack Submission) with a Deralier or one of the backbreakers.

Low-ki's Dragon Clutch can be duplicated not very closely with one of the Tazmissions that is grounded and Taz turns the opponent over in almost a camel clutch like submission.

And, specifically for me, anyone know where I can find a good formula for Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton? I'm sick of my Steiner Brothers CAWs and would like to redo them into the Midnight Express since I can't just remove them without restarting the season.

Speaking of the Crossface, doesn't it seem like working over the arms is pointless whenever you wrestle as Benoit, since the move only affects the head in the game judging by the submission meter?

Is anyone else pissed about how damn near impossible Lesnar is to beat in Season mode. It doesn't seem to matter how hard I try that gorilla mauls me every time.

Oh and I still suck at reversing strikes/grapples

I suck at it as well. I usually find myself sitting there, hitting the L2/R2 button like a mad man, which works.

Beating Lesnar can be done, but you need to be crafty. Usually, I go outside, grab a chair and re-enter the ring. Knock Brocky down before hand so he doesn't cause you any trouble. The ref should instantly start walking towards you. When he does this, run at him and nail the fucker with the chair. You can then proceed to chair-shot your way to victory. Take the time between shots to either throw the chair at the ref on the mat, or do a running elbow drop. This will ensure he doesn't wake up and DQ you.

That's the method I employ, and it always works. Cheap, but you win.

You're keeping Lesnar in Season mode?

Usually whenever a wrestler in my game is injured in real life or leaves WWE, I take them out of Season mode just to keep up-to-date with current happenings in WWE. I have a lot of CAW's entered in Season mode, so it's not as lop-sided as it sounds on the Raw and Smackdown brands in my game.

Do whatever you want, though.

Beating Lesnar is easy, if you have a CAW with all 10s. ;)

I think I've beaten Lesnar using guys like Shelton Benjamin and Rhyno. Just hammer at the specific body part for their finishers and then finish him. Use lots of running strikes; don't let Lesnar grab you unless you're good at reversals.

As for reversals, it's all just a matter of timing and intuition. You can usually tell which wrestlers like to strike and which to grapple, and then adjust your blocks and reversals accordingly. From what I've noticed, Booker T, Triple H, Austin and the Rock strike a lot more than they grapple. Benoit, Angle, Lesnar and Jericho are the opposite. Also, some guys tend to do their strikes in succession, so if Trips throws a punch, more than likely he'll follow it up with another punch, so be ready to do a strike reversal. However, sometimes, guys like Booker T will throw a punch and then follow it up with a grapple, so be wary. Again, it's just a matter of timing and knowing who you're up against.

Or, if you really want to be cheap, grab the table from under the ring, set it up in the corner, and then when the other wrestler is near you, run into the table. More than likely, your opponent will try to grapple you, which automatically makes him throw you into the table. Instant DQ.

You think THAT'S cheap?

Get a table and set it up in the corner, and then run yourself into it. Your opponent should put you through the table, drawing a DQ if you time it right.

Cheap, but you win a bunch of matches fast.

I think notJames already mentioned that, and I knew about the table method before it was posted here since I found out in SD: SYM a year ago, so I would assume that it would still work in HCTP, and it does.

However, don't you just hate it whenever you wrestle someone like Tajiri in Season mode and all he does is kick you constantly when you run yourself into the table until sometime later on when he FINALLY throws you through it?

Yes. And everytime I try this against Angle, he waits until AFTER I'm done being stunned against the table and germans the crap out of me. I actually lost a match once trying to win it by DQ. I didn't realize I was in red, and on like the 40th try to be put through the table, he waits until I'm not stunned anymore and Angle slams me for the pin. Frusterating as hell.

Once again I ran into the brick wall that is Lesnar

I get a shot at the WWE title with Benoit, and I've built up my strength and endurance and lately I'd been getting Lesnar good in other single/tag matches but once again the AI decides to make him unstoppable and he kills be despite all I do.

I hate Brock Lesnar

If they do anything for Raw vs Smackdown they should have a wrestler submit on SD level. When I'm Benoit and have the Crossface on HHH and the fucker won't tap I'm about ready to boot my TV.

Okay now I'm doing season with HHH and I had the most fun when Vince named Lance Storm as challenger, well I named the title match Hell in a Cell, Pedigreed him through both ringside tables, 3 times on top of the cell, the final time sending us through the cell to beat his bloody ass.

So far there are only two submissions I know of that get the tap out everytime (with the submission meter). One is Rodney Mack's Blackout. As long as your opponent's head damage is bright red, you'll get the submission. The second is the Trailerhitch. If your opponents legs are completely damaged, hit the move and you won't even need to tap the buttons for the submission.

The Special Anklelock pretty much gets an immediate tapout everytime, but that's not tied into the submission meter.

Why would you need to get a DQ win over Tajiri? He's such a relatively weak character that you should be able to beat him with no problem. Since you know he uses a lot of strikes, you should be able to counter him easily.

I know that. I was just using him as an example, and it's still better to get thrown into the table so you'll get a faster win, hopefully.

I like using the other guy's finisher on him, especially Tajiri's. I usually wait until his head is all the way in the red. That way, when I hit him with the Buzzsaw Kick, BLAMMO! Blood everywhere! :)
