Short lived TV shows no one seems to remember

Year in and year out there are a lot of TV shows that get cancelled. Some are notoriously bad, some become cult classics. This thread is for the ones that no one seems to remember.

 

 

I remember a TV show on TNN a few years back right after the "We Got Pop" commercials started flooding the air waves. The show's premise was these two comedians/film makers would go to a small town and make three minute spoofs/remakes of popular movies at the time. I was amused by the show and I know it didn't last for anymore than six episodes. Does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about?

 

Another really short lived show I liked that was around 98-99ish was a VH1 show called Rock Candy. It was an off beat music news show that aired features of stuff like Jackyl playing 100 shows in 50 days and a band of shirpas playing on top of the Empire State building and Quiet Riot playing a gig at a nudist colony. The show lasted three episodes and literally no one remembers it.

 

Finally their was a show on in 2001 also on VH1 called Sledgehammer. The show was a Tom Green show rip off except for 99% of the show revolved around music. I believe the show actually lasted an entire season (Albeit a short one, there weren't any more than 10-11 episodes) and I think it was going to have a 2nd season, however it got sued for tricking some dumbass unsigned band that they were going to be on Band on the Run ( Another somewhat short lived VH1 show).

Video Power...tv show on early in the morning when I was a kid. You got a Nintendo cartoon and a gameshow with Nintendo questions. The winner got to run through a maze and games and take what he wanted.

I remember that. The host claimed to be the "video game master" and would take video game questions from the studio audience at the beginning of the show.

 

Then at the end a kid went through the maze with a velcro suit and a bag and took all the video games/systems/accesories he could, slid down the slide and they counted all the stuff he got.

Swan's Crossing. Early 90's teen show soap opera, featuring Sarah Michelle Gellar in all her pre-fame hotness.

 

Where's Rodney. Lasted one episode. Got it on tape. Premise had a Rodney Dangerfield fan (played by the one of the "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" kids) wishing for Rodney to bail him out of situations, and Rodney would just magically appear. And it was supposed to be reality. Yeah.

The Rerun Show, was a skit comedy program that parodize pop culture. Such as what if the Star Wars cast did Save by the Bell. I think it lasted 5 episodes on NBC and repeated on VH1! during its run.

 

The Zach Garfolgous show was a typical talk show with the comedian Zach as your host. I think he would do a few jokes while playing the piano.

And I'm pretty sure his love interest was the social worker that comes by to check on the kids.

Thanks, the wacky pilgrim sitcom starring Tim Dutton, Cloris Leachman and some other people. Much smarter than it sounds.

 

True Colors, a sitcom about a black guy with a son who marries a white woman with a daughter. I don't really remember watching it, but I must have cause I have a couple episodes on tape and they're really funny. Wish I could see a few more.

Alright, there's another show I can't remember the name of.

 

It was a sitcom from the late-80's, early-90's.

 

It focused around the people living in a 3 or 4-story apartment. Each family/couple occupied 1 floor and they all became friends.

Yes...it was a three-story brownstone somewhere in New York. There was a older black couple on one floor, and a pair of young newlyweds on another floor. I remember it from the review in TV Guide in that year's Fall Preview issue.

Hard Time on Planet Earth: It starred Martin Kove as an alien warrior who was framed for a crime and setenced to probation on the backwards planet of earth. He had a robotic, flying eye thing that was his parole officer and they would go around helping people.

 

The 100 Lives of Black Jack Savage: Similar show. A guy flees the US when he's charged for insider trading and lives in a castle on a Carribean island. The castle is haunted by the ghost of pirate Black Jack Savage. He has to save 100 lives to be allowed to go to heaven and enlists the guy's help, named Barry Tarbarry, to aide him. There were these crazy monster things that would chase Savage and they would suck them up in vaccum cleaners.

 

Raven: Raven was a karate guy who hung out with Lee Majors and they would kick ass while looking for the guys who killed Raven's parents or something like that.

 

Half Nelson: Joe Pesci was a private detective who got special cases from Dean Martin

 

Outlaws: A sheriff in the 1880's corners a group of outlaws in a canyon when a tornado comes out of nowhere. It sweeps them a hundred years into the future and they use the money from the bank robbery to buy a ranch and set up a detective agency. It starred Richard Roundtree, Charles Napier and Rod Taylor

It wasn't Rosemary Clooney, it was Rose Marie of the Dick Van Dyke Show. It was called Hardball.
