Goldberg--Team player?!!!?

You know it just occured to me, did Goldberg just do the J-O-B? At the second biggest PPV of the year? To a guy he legitimately does not like? Doesn't he have some sort of "reasonable creative control" clause in his contract? And didn't he specifically say, in many interviews, that he would never put Triple-H over? What does Vince have photos of him with? Or did Vince wave some cash in front of him, as an engagement gift to Triple-H perhaps, to get Goldie to lay down? I can't believe that Goldberg would buy any promises of getting a win back at the next PPV over Trips, considering how often plans change and how suddenly injured Trips seems to get and how resistant he is to giving up his belt. Someone explain this to me, I'm clearly missing something. Why did Goldberg agree to this?

Maybe Goldberg doesn't suck as much as everyone thinks.

He has been selling lately....

We all admit he's been selling.

But if he didn't use his creative control clause because he didn't want to.

...I'm fucking shocked. That ending to EC2 killed his career.

My bet is that either GB had his creative clause revoked on him or he's getting snowballed by HHH and Vince into jobbing at ss with the plan of him getting the title and his win back at the next PPV being taken away from him and them driving him away, which they would then use to justify keeping HHH on top because he's a "team player" unlike GB....

I really don't see how he can ressurect himself after that.

I could.

HHH gets the Goldberg Squash.

That'll be the only way Goldberg could be saved.

And fuck, let's not forget that this just kills ANY chance HHH had at going face. There's no way he could get any face pops now. None.

But he'll be shoved down our faces as a face as soon as they can.

Truthfully, it wouldn't hurt Triple H at all since he's already beaten Goldberg. He could claim it was a fluke and order for a rematch ... which Goldberg wins. Then Triple H is regulated to midcard where he makes quick work of Chris Jericho.

They're in a tough spot with Goldberg now. He finally connected with the crowd but then got promptly jobbed to the guy who's managed to kill every upper card face's heat except for HBK.

Now we have a rematch that to salvage Goldberg at all, he has to win clean. Of course this is the WWF so we know that won't happen. Goldberg will look like he's just keeping the belt warm for Trips if he doesn't pin him clean in the middle of the ring.

What are you talking about? He had his head smashed in with a fucking sledgehammer, several times. If that's not an excuse for losing, I don't know what is.

Okay, maybe I'm missing something here, but I seem to remember Goldie making HHH his personal bitch prior to the sledge being brought in. Plus he got to dispose of 3 out of 5 of the contenders in the match. HHH only got the win and the subsequent beatdown with the help of a foreign object and help from The Evolution. That doesn't sound like much of a burial to me.

Oh, but it's the end of his career. I don't know how he'll ever resurrect himself after that! [smell the sarcasm]

That's something I can agree with Barron. It was obviously the booked finish, but the two of them should have seen how weakly it went down and improv'd a dazed GB walking into one more shot. It looked even worse on the replays when you could clearly see it barely grazing GB's shoulder.

Triple H hitting people with a sledgehammer is THE worst thing in pro-wrestling. It's a sledgehammer for fucks sake!

Well I am sure a sledgehammer shot to the head sounded good when they went over the finish backstage or whenever.

I thought they built Goldberg up well in the match and now fans have a further reason to want to see Goldberg beat HHH next month.

Well it was the Clash of the two Men the Smarks hate the most...who are the lesser of the two Evil Anti Smarks HHH or Goldberg?

HHH least has or had at some point a pure love of the business... Goldberg is there for the check and to look good doing it regardless who's career he crushes and mangles.

it will be more uncertain outcome when ever they do get Goldberg vs HHH

I suppose Goldberg sees it as a decent trade off he got to Squash Three other guys before even getting to HHH in under 5 minutes which is the usual standard Goldy match. HHH of course had the sledgehammer, just as good as Hall's Tazer. and HHH gets the pin.

Yea no shit Sherlock. That doesn't excuse the horrible finish. I very rarely ever get emotional watching a PPV. And the ending to Summerslam made me extremely pissed off.

Goldberg's invincibility is gone. Didn't they learn ANYTHING from WCW? What happens when you kill Goldberg's invincibility? You kill Goldberg.

HHH of course had the sledgehammer, just as good as Hall's Tazer. and HHH gets the pin.

And Hall's tazer causing Goldberg to lose really turned out to be a great idea eh Trivia?

The guy jobbed to the weakest sledgehammer shot ever.

Why should anyone care about the guy now?

WWE FINALLY had it with Goldberg- they finally had it- and they completely dropped the ball

So, WWE dropped the ball because HHH and Goldberg botched a sledgehammer shot?

Does everyone remember that before this Goldberg was getting booed every match with the heel's spots getting cheered? Just because he's well booked in ONE match with ONE crowd getting behind him, plans should change and he should get the strap? Yea, ok.

Posted

He's had more then one crowd behind him.

Madison Square Garden (WWE's home arena) went crazy for him.

Goldberg as champion is better then HHH winning a match with 5 other people by doing one move

That's my point exactly

Its NOT good..the Tazer wasn't good the Sledgehammer wasn't good.

But Goldberg just can't seem to be beaten without overwhelming Health damaging force. oye

Yeah, I was thinking the same. How the hell were they suppose to know before hand Goldberg would get a pop that big? The pop isn't even that big a deal. The drama of the match built up the excitment for Goldberg.

Tonight Goldberg could be booed out of the arena.

He lost thanks to getting nicked in the back. Woooo- what a bad ass

Thst still doesn't justify the fact that Triple H should not have gone over tonight in the manner that he did. They were finally booking him correctly and showed that they knew what they were doing- and they dropped the ball

Just like Angle and Lesnar coming out to absolute silence last night? Let's take away their main event push.

Bob - I agree they used him well in the match, but they couldn't keep up doing what they were doing - destroying three or so of their main wrestlers wrapped in a gimmick match anyone is bound to get a pop.

At that rate, he would be through any potential challengers for him within 2 months and then what?
