RAW RATING

This week's edition of Raw received a 4.3 rating, which is up from last week. It looks like people are genuinely interested in the Kane storyline.

If they say people are genuinely interested in the Kane storyline, then at least show proof at how they are interested, like showing quarter hour ratings in which Kane was on. Just showing the final rating and saying "people are interested in this wrestler" is silly.

I am actually into the Kane character/storyline now.

For the first time in years.

I don't like certain aspects, but overall, it's pretty cool.

As much as I do like it now, I'd love it a million times over if they took Shane out of the posistion of the main guy going against Kane, and put RVD in his place.

I'm with Downhome. If they now put the focus on RVD as the main player against Kane, I will be bery happy. In fact, I'll stop bitching about excessive McMahon screentime for nearly 10 minutes.

Shane's Kentucky Fried Nuts = ratings!

Hmm....on one hand I can understand it because I like Kane and the storyline..on the other hand I don't get it because of Shane punking Kane out all the time.....hmm...

I wonder how many people would watch MNR if it was on another night. It seems to have the same benifit that Hockey Night In Canada does. People associate it with Monday or Saturday nights. If CBC were to start playing games on a different night the ratings would probably go down even if the product quality was the same. Now with Raw being as horrable as it is, (I'd say the worst the WWE quality wise has ever been) if it moved to any other night of the week how would the ratings fare?

Seriously, in all honesty, can anyone out there with a straight face say they enjoyed Raw last night? Anyone?

I say let them continue with Kane's storyline. I watch it less and less, so when it fails I won't care.

We reported earlier today that Raw did a 4.3 cable rating this week, which was up from last week's 4.2. The show did hours of 4.2 and 4.5. The highest rated segment of the show was the overrun, which did a 5.0 quarter hour. The lowest rated segment was the opening 15 minutes, which did a 3.8. The segments in between ranged from a 4.2 to a 4.5.

Glenn Jacobs amazes me. He was given a crap gimmick and SOMEHOW made it work. Just amazing. I think one of the reasons fans like it is the unpredictability. Everyone's thinking "what will Kane do next?" It's kind of the same reason Austin was so popular.

This week probably pissed people off when people found out that WWE told them basically to go fuck themselves and have nothing come out of the fire angle. I expect next week's rating to go back down. I do enjoy Kane in this angle. I didn't give a fuck about Kane with the mask and didn't evenw ant to see him on tv, but he has been pretty entertaining without it. Next week starts Monday Night Football also, so that will drop the ratings a little bit. You can expect the return of comments from Jim Ross like "you won't see hits like this in the NFL" or "you won't see athleticism like this in the NFL" meanwhile orgasming over wrestlers that have a football background and making sure he mentions it 20,000 times.

It's better than anything they have done recently, with maybe the exception of Brock Lesnar, but then he wasn't a draw.

I thought they'd leave Kane for dead after ripping his mask off, but they've proven me wrong and created a very interesting and captivating character that works brilliantly while also applying some logic to the situation - i.e. Kane's so mentally screwed he actually thinks he is scarred etc.

Have no fear though, they'll fuck it up soon enough.

So the six man got the highest rating? Good, it actually seems like they are putting effort in building Goldberg/HHH and Micheals/Orton.

Oh, and I think we all know why the ratings raised. RVD came back! Duh.

The overrun is overrated as they are using fuzzy math to spike the rating. I bet if they did not have the overrun the true rating would be around 3.9-4.1. Remember the time the overrun was not included the rating was lower than the week before.

Yeah, by 0.1 points.

That 0.1 point means advertising money and keeps Vince & Family the main event segment. It must suck to be RVD to have his angle given to the boss' son.

Only during sweeps do the ratings affect ad money and the next one of those will be November.

The bottom line is that the overrun is meant to increase the ratings because people tend to flip once their program is over. Obviously the rating would be lower without it since that number is generally much higher than every other segment on the show.

I would like to agree if Kane's storyline had any resemblence to reality in it. Until they explain how Kane is not affected by fire and possibly prove it on air, I will assume and hope that those ratings reflect "How bad can it be this week?" and "I like to bring myself great mental pain".
