Rock wouldn't do that job to Booker for the same reason, and i'm positive he wouldn't have worked so heavily with Hurricane had he known what HHH would do the next few weeks.

Never heard that one...what are you talking about?

I'm referring to the bait and switch match on Raw when Booker was gaining momentum and heading into wrestlemania. He threw Rock over the top in the battle royale, and it was heavily advertised that Booker/Rock would go down the next week. Speculation arose that HHH WAS NOT dropping the title and Booker would go down clean, causing Rock to back out and Hurricane/Rock took place instead.

HMM.. I never heard it as such, but your knowledge is far superior than mine in most cases, so I'll concede. It still makes sense, but with the rampate HHHate going around, those are easy to come by. Thanks for clearing that up.

Problem is , it was such a spur of the moment change. Both guys were healthy and it would have probably drawn fairly well, so why the big switch? Somethings missing.

I think it's because with booking Rock v. Booker T you book yourself into a corner.

If Booker wins but needs Austin's help- then he's dead going into Mania.

If Hurricane wins but needs Austin's help- well who cares- it's only Hurricane Helms.

Of course Triple H rubbed it in Rock's face by Pedigreeing Hurricane every chance he got.

Another reason that The Rock is still one of the coolest wrestlers alive.

Oh yeah, that Rocky... So cool that he waited til damn near everyone else was turned into puppy chow for Brock before doing the job... Whatta guy.

That's how it should have been done anyways. Feed Brock guys to make him look like a monster (manster?), constantly moving up the food chain untill he reaches teh ME'rs, beat the biggest of the lot (Rocky) and shoot right intot he ME scene.

I wasn't saying Rock was a bad guy for being the last guy on Brock's hit list, I'm just saying it's pretty retarded to suck Rock off since he was basically saved for last and lambaste Austin because he was being served up first(like stated before, something that should have never happened to begin with).

Considering how HHH, Taker and Austin treated Brock's mega push- I think Rock deserves credit for going out there and making Brock look like a star.

About the Rock-Hurricane thing-

Rock attacked the guy from behind in the middle of a match. It's not as bad as Triple H Pedigreeing Hurricane week after week

March 31, 2003- HHH beats Hurricane (Pedigree)

April 7th, 2003- HHH beats up Hurricane again

April 14th, 2003- HHH Pedigrees Hurricane

May 12th, 2003- HHH Pedigrees Hurricane

To the top, and a flying bodypress gets two. Buff Blockbuster and Hurri-Slam, but Rock runs in for the DQ at 2:49. Geez, it’s only Rodney Mack, just put Helms over strong and get it over with. ½* Rock completely destroys him and basically makes him look like nothing. Well, so much for that push.

Ummm... no. When Rocky came back, Brock was still feuding with Bubba Ray and RVD.

Whoops.

Which is why Rock was booed at Nassau Coliseum. Brock looked like the monster he was built as, but at the same time, Rock outsmarted him at mostly every turn leading up to Summerslam. Plus fans knew he was leaving for Hollywood anyway so they considered Rocky a "sellout" and cheered Brock on.

I think Austin was pissed over jobbing to Brock on a Raw with little to no build. He felt that the match should be saved for a PPV (which I agree with). Of course he probably also didn't like the prospect of jobbing to a rookie.

I wasn't looking forward to the Eddie/Austin feud because let's face it...Eddie was jobbing every time and we all know it.

Wondering where JasonX got those supposed plans.

True or not, glad to see Austin took a stand against McMahon's bullshit and has since seen to it that the creative direction isn't so shitty anymore.

Oh yeah...nevermind.

As far as I can remember, Rock was definitely the first besides hogan to give the big rub. Rob was getting the better of Brock in their feud and always looked superior.

I never understood that feud. They had basically backed themselves in a corner. At KOTR, Brock actually looked strong because when Rob hit the 5 star, Brock was up in no time, as it had no effect on him. And Vengence, they wanted Brock to look strong, but also didn't want Rob to lose the title. SO they did the double DQ finish. I wouldn't say Rob looked superior to Brock, but he did certainly look strong compared to him, which was the last thing Brock needed in a feud.

I speculate that at this time, they weren't sure what to do with Rob, and may actually have considered him having another top program feud with the Undertaker, or have him chase the title soon after. At that time, the champ was still supposed to be on both shows.

I say Rob should have layed down clean at KOTR without so much Heyman, and they never had that Unforgiven match. I mean, if Brock can plow through mega-face ROCK of all people, why was Rob different, especially when you look at where he ended up.

Didn't HHH and Taker both punk Brock out the night after Summerslam??

They didn't so much as punk him out as Undertaker threw Brock into one of the corners at the other side of the ring and then HHH and UT started beating each other up while JR masturbated about how great and strong and powerful UT and HHH were and totally ignoring Brock and the fact that he beat Rock to get the title.

I think they were foricing Austin out way before he left. I'm still not following the logic of being booked to job to AlkaHall in the lower midcard of Wrestlemania.

I don't understand how he wound up in a feud with the Big Show.

I have no idea why someone thought feeding Austin to Brock with zero build up was good.

If you piss someone off this much in such a short time, it's no longer accidental.

To continue the feud and eventually build it up to when Austin finally wins, it is actually a big deal?

That was one of the main problems with the nWo. It never got blown off. The nWo just eventually collapsed in 1998, then re-formed, then collapsed, then re-formed as nWo 2002, then morphed into nWo Jarrett/Harris Twins, then collapsed, then re-formed in WWE, then got disbanded by Vince in an interview.
