Raw or Nitro?

Recommended Posts

Since it appears to be a slow night, I thought i'd start a discussion.

So...

If WCW hadn't been sold to Vinnie and co. (presume Bischoff had control), would you be watching Raw or Nitro every monday (taking Nitro as it was in its final months and Raw as it is now)?

I would be watching RAW, Vince with somebody to go against means you get good TV.

If Vince hadn't bought WCW, they wouldn't be in the state they are now.

I would be watching Nitro.

You wouldn't have angles revolving around announcers and the bosses kid going over upper card talent.

Plus there would be a variety to the styles and you could still depend on the cruisers for the 2 good matches a week.

RVD, Steve Corino, Super Crazy and the Blue Meanie were all looking at going to WCW.

Nash, Goldburg, Steiner would be headlining weekly and Sean O Haire would be World Champ (Based on the bitter end, as you said)

Luger would be jailed, David Flair would be on TV each week... Shawn Stasiak would be US champ.... Konnan, Jarrett would be kicking around....

Nope you'd just have people like David Arquette as the Heavyweight Champion again

and Horace Hogan as the United States Champion

and La Parka as the TV Champ?

I'd do the same thing that I used to do when they were both on the air. I'd watch the first hour of Nitro, then watch all of RAW. Then, I would watch the second showing on Nitro later in the night.

If that wasn't an option, I would just channel flip back and forth and watch the segments that I found to be more interesting.

Whats wrong with La Parka?

Dammit, beaten to it.

Ok La Parka because they'd need SOMEONE to get the people watching...Right?

I'm still missing your point. You made it sound like a La Parka push would be a negative thing.

B/c he's one of the most bizzare yet amusing wrestlers around.

Who can't love a guy that plays a chair like a guitar when he comes to the ring and then dances like an idiot.

i would watch nitro. right before they closed up, they rebuilt their crusierweight division. they had shane helms and chavo were tearing it up in the ring. they had most of the guys you like in tna now like christopher daniels, aj styles, skipper, kaz hayashi, jimmy yang, noah's jr heavyweight champ in michael modest. plus, eric bischoff really wanted to bring toryumon wrestlers in.

Definately Nirto. It started to actually get good again there in its dying days. The cruiserweight tag division was GREAT and RVD and co. was on the horizon. Besides, he said Raw, not Smackdown. That would be a whole other story.

Plus Kanyon would be on TV every week, Booker in the ME, Knoble most likely tearing it up. And the Vertebreaker would be in full effect.

I'd be watching Nitro, and switching to Raw during commercials.

I had boycotted Nitro back in 98...but I dunno. WWF's writing was starting to piss me off back in 2000, so I doubt it'd have been much better even with competition.

If we are talking Nitro in it's dead year, I actually took a three month "flip to see what's on Raw during commercials" as Nitro was better. I still think that if Fuscient had bought the company we'd have seen WWE getting a run for its money again.

Seriously, if it was 'dying' (assuming quality was still good and the company was afloat) WCW's Nitro over WWE Raw's anyday.

Shit, I haven't watched WWE Raw since Wrestlemania. That's how much I don't care for it.

I was always a loyal Nitro watcher, So I'd definately be there. In the last three months, WCW was good stuff. The aformentioned Helms-Chavo feud was the highlight of the night for me.
