RavishingRickRudo Posted September 14, 2003 Report Posted September 14, 2003 So the Billy Graham piece was the receipt for HBO Real Sports' story. That stuff about all the allegations on Phil Donahue being fabricated ... well, we'll read all about it in the next WON history piece. The only thing missing was Vince making a reference to that vindictive federal government. I guess that comes later when they do a Confidential piece on George Zahorian. ("It was all a conspiracy by me against Vince and Hogan and all you great fans. Sorry.") I'm trying to put together the WWE Confidential canonical WWE timeline: 1900-1983 - Vince Sr., Jess, and other McMahon ancestors invent, promote, and control wrestling. Legends of this era include Andre the Giant, Rocky Johnson, Peter Maivia, Gorilla Monsoon, Pat Patterson, Ric Flair, and James Dudley. 1984 - Vince takes wrestling out of smoky arenas, invents merchandise and entrance music, creates Wrestlemania, creates Hulkamania. Hogan's level of contribution to this depends on his current relationship with Vince. 1987 - 93,000,000 attend greatest Wrestlemania of all time to see Andre's first career loss. 1991 - Patriotic angle at greatest Wrestlemania of all time honors America. 1992 - Jealous conspirators try to bring down Camelot by inventing lies about steroids and other scandals. 1994 - Trial caused by the federal government's vendetta distracts Vince and allows Ted Turner to steal Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall. 1996 - Kevin Nash and Scott Hall debut in WCW, pretend to be from the WWF, and steal WWF's fans. WWF business declines for the first time ever due to confusion in the marketplace. 1997 - Bret Hart refuses to drop the WWF Title before leaving. Vince saves the company and preserve the time-honored tradition. 1998 - Mr. McMahon and Attitude take the WWF to a new plateau, where they have remained ever since despite internet naysayers. Canadian fans still not over Montreal. 1999-2000 - Bret Hart kills WCW. MCI and other sponsors don't Get It. Canadian fans still not over Montreal. 2001 - WWF buys WCW and finally allows its superstars to flourish, though sadly they don't get over enough to beat anyone from the WWF. Media negativity prevents the XFL from getting off the ground. Canadian fans still not over Montreal. 2002 - Company begins brand extension and 3-year long process required to make new stars. Animal-lovers steal the F. Steve Austin walks out and never works for the company again. Smackdown promotes gay rights and Raw screws corpses like CSI. Hulk Hogan walks out and never works for the company again. Canadian fans still not over Montreal. 2003 - Lex Luger murders Elizabeth. Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan work main events at greatest Wrestlemania of all time. Lots of wrestlers die because of their own weakness and vices. Canadian fans still not over Montreal. 2004 - Vince and Stephanie headline greatest Wrestlemania of all time at Madison Square Garden. Canadian fans still not over Montreal. -by Justin Shapiro http://www.liveaudiowrestling.com/wo/news/...lt.asp?aID=8416

NOTHING can ever top Bret Hart killing WCW. That segment should definitely be put on a wrestlecrap tape. The begging of the then WWF on the air telling us not to let the "evil" media influence the fans opinions of the XFL was classic too.
Lil' Bitch Posted September 14, 2003 Report Posted September 14, 2003 1999-2000 - Bret Hart kills WCW. How?
ChrisMWaters Posted September 14, 2003 Report Posted September 14, 2003 1999-2000 - Bret Hart kills WCW. How? Who knows...but that's what WWE said about it on Confidential once.
Tawren Posted September 14, 2003 Report Posted September 14, 2003 That'd be funnier if it hadn't been beaten into the ground. "Ha ha, Vince beat WCW so everyone is bitter! Ha ha, there wasn't enough proof to convince a jury that Vince was guilty, so let's all be bitter! Ha ha, Vince globalized pro wrestling, let's all be bitter!"
Lightning Flik Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 1999-2000 - Bret Hart kills WCW. How? Who knows...but that's what WWE said about it on Confidential once. And whatever the WWE says must be true.
JasonX Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 1999-2000 - Bret Hart kills WCW. How? His contract bankrupted the WCW and turned WCW's utopian locker room into a world of chaos and anarchy as everyone decided if Bret could get big bucks, then they could get away with murder. Bret Hart was also, in this piece, stated as the reason why Hogan was such an ass backstage from December 97 onward, as Hogan believed that Bret Hart was going to steal his spot in the main event and bury him, so as to make all of Hogan's antics in the back seem more like Hogan valiantly trying to save himself from the evil Bret Hart....
Damaramu Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 That's gotta be one of the greatest pieces ever...especially the part about 93....million people at WM3.
razazteca Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 Canadian fans still not over Montreal. The Canadian fans just don't GET IT, they don't know what is right for them
RavishingRickRudo Posted September 15, 2003 Author Report Posted September 15, 2003 Tawren, Shapiro didn't beat it into the ground - Vince did... which is the whole point.

Its WCW's fault (I'm guessing it was Bischoff's idea to come up with that large sum of money) for offering Bret the 9 mil deal in the first place.
RavishingRickRudo Posted September 15, 2003 Author Report Posted September 15, 2003 No, No, No. It's Bret's fault.
Lil' Bitch Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 Would you pass up 9 mil? Didn't think so.

Insane Bump Machine Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 I'm glad that we at TSM all recognize sarcasm and good satire when it punches us in the face. This is why we are the big leagues. Gamefags.com can suck my cock!
Crimson Platypus Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 "Media negativity prevents the XFL from getting off the ground" TRUTH~!

This is why we are the big leagues. Gamefags.com can suck my cock! So true. Methinks there needs to be some sort of disclaimer at the end of a post if we use satire at all, for the more obtuse of us. Maybe make it like the spoiler tag where you have to highlight to read. [Rico] [/Rico] perhaps?
