I liked Nicholson in Management, being a Jack fan (especially of his comedies) and that I wasn't too fond of About Schmidt. This was my dream cast when Sandler was funny, but I agree, my favorite is Billy Madison with Happy Gilmore in a close second. Sandler I didn't think was that great when I saw this opening night in the theater, since watching it again, I thought he was a little better when I saw it another time. His movies just seem to be sub-par same jokes, same cast. That is part of the reason I kinda liked Punch-Drunk Love, but I know a lot of people HATE that one. His next projects, I don't know if they have potential. One is another romantic comedy with Drew Barrymore, I thought they had some chemistry during Wedding Singer, and this one has a quirk with like memory loss and stuff, so we'll see, but my "Sandler appeal" has fallen so much from the days where Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore were still pretty fresh... nothing can top those.

Exactly my point. If you thought at all through the movie, you'd realize that it's not the movie for you (I'm being nice). To all of a sudden put on your thinking cap near the end is ridiculous. "Hmmm, why are all these people cheering on Adam Sandler? Wait a minute, something's going on here. I know, this ending doesn't make sense! That's it, I'm going to ask THE SMART MARKS~! to help me figure out the reasoning behind the illogical conclusion to the otherwise profound, thought-provoking cinematic masterpiece otherwise known as Anger Management."

I'm sure one can make a mathematical equation about it.

Actually, Big Daddy was OK, but probably because it was the first of the suck streak. -JM

Big Daddy was about a guy finding a kid on his doorstep, and having no idea how to raise him. Mr. Deeds was about a guy inheriting a future, but totally clueless about how the money should be used, and lost in the world of the big city. Anger Management was about someone having to deal with an insane anger coach or face jail time, although he was pretty sane at the beginning of the movie. How in the hell are these three movies the same ? I'm not saying Anger Management didn't suck, but give me a break. That statement is pretty ridiculous.
Big McLargeHuge Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Because Sandler either plays a ridiculously giving and naive person with saint-like qualities (Wedding Singer, Deeds, waterboy) or he's an insensitive jerk with no direction in life (Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore). Big Daddy being the one role that's right on the fence. I wouldn't say the movies are the same, but that's pretty much Sandler's range in a nutshell. Which is fine, really.

cabbageboy Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Actually Mr. Deeds is a Frank Capra movie with Gary Cooper. You know, an actual classic. I like Sandler pretty well but he shouldn't ever attempt this sort of stuff. The Wedding Singer is Sandler's best movie (to me anyway). It's pretty much the only movie where he seems like something that resembles a human being, instead of a goofball retard or irresponsible jerk.
