Downhome 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 I got this from Dark Horizons... The Simpsons (TV): There's been deaths, scandals, crushes, etc. Now apparently at an Angelo State University lecture last night, Producer Mike Reiss revealed one of the main characters would have "gay sex" this season but NOT one of the kids. There's also a slim chance of the now-cancelled "Futurama" characters appearing. ...so there you have it, take it for what it's worth. I would love to see some of the Futurama characters appearing on The Simpsons, I've wanted that for a while now. As for the gay sex... ...oh well, there are the obvious choices. Sincerely, ...Downhome...

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 27, 2003 It has to be Carl and Lenny or Smithers, maybe Rod and/or Todd. They could always do the old trick of using expendable characters. I'm interested in seeing how they incorporate the Futurama characters.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Hold on Tight because the religious right will turn on the Simpsons ONCE AGAIN if the gay sex thing happens.
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 I'm gonna say Homer (as a gag)... Although Fry, the Professor, Hermes, Amy, Leela, Bender and Zoidberg + Homer = teh rule~! If the crossover ep is as good as the last crossover (w/ Jay Sherman) this would be so frickin' awesome.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Depends HOW "Main" the character is, I can't see it being any of the simpsons... I'm banking on, Moe, Apu or Skinner.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Skinner and Smithers or Lenny and Carl are probably the best bets... ...Thank god I stopped watching years ago.
Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Gay sex? Huh? Is this The Simpsons or South Park?
JasonX 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Hold on Tight because the religious right will turn on the Simpsons ONCE AGAIN if the gay sex thing happens. If the religious right never threw a fuss all of these years when Smithers was openly pinning for Mr Burn's affection or after last season's episode where Homer kissed another man, I doubt they will not raise an eyebrow at this happeneing...... JasonX 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Skinner and Smithers or Lenny and Carl are probably the best bets... ...Thank god I stopped watching years ago. Skinner is straight and has Mrs K. and the writers have recently stated that they have no plans to make Skinner gay Lenny and Karl are a good pick, especially given the rising amount of subtext that they are in love these last couple of seasons Smithers might work, but unless it's Mr Burns on the receiving end it will come off as being anti-climatix Another guess no one has brought up: Marge's sister Patty. She's gay and it would be an easy way to work the Simpsons into the storyline....
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Patty's gay? When did that happen?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Using one of the sisters will be a cop out... Use Moe as I don't think he has anything else left to do and it creates a dilemma for Homer...
Downhome 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 I wouldn't be too shocked if they had it just be Krusty.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 27, 2003 "Moe's gay?" "Yes dad, Moe is a homosexual" "I like beer...but Moe's gay...but I really like beer...oh and doughnuts I like doughnuts...mmmm doughnuts and beeeer"

Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 27, 2003 If they REALLY wanted to get deep they could have some Fruedian connection to Homer's love for Doughnuts.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 What is the word on when the series will end? Has anything been said about it for sure really?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 27, 2003 I believe it will be on for at least two more seasons. Seems like last it was discussed the current contract ends in 2005 or 2006. I'm sure Fox will let them stay as long as they want. It's all a matter of when the creator and writers have had enough.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 I really think the writers and creators of the Simpsons are gonna keep chugging to season 20 when they have ABSOLUTELY nothing left not even their past glory (Which is basically all they have now)
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 27, 2003 What season are they on? The creator and writers will continue as long as they enjoy their job. They wouldn't still be going if they didn't still enjoy it. It's not like they need the money.

Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 The show will continue as long as it is profitable. Any illusions that they would stop when the show was running out of steam have long since vanished.

Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 This past season was a marked improvement over the ones before it, but even then it was only okay. I'm still loyal to the show--it's one of the few programs I watch, period--but my faith has been shaken over the last couple of years.
JasonX 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Using one of the sisters will be a cop out... Use Moe as I don't think he has anything else left to do and it creates a dilemma for Homer... Except Patty's lesbianism has been well documented throughout the show's run and has never been explored by the writers. Moe being gay would indeed be a tremendous cop-out and seem as just another example of the show twisting the cores of their characters in order to fit the wacky nature of the plot.... King Kamala 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 The past season I believe was the best in about three or four years (which isn't saying much). I thought their were four or five good episodes and their were a bit less episodes with inane, "wacky" plots.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 27, 2003 I still think it's a good show, it's just not as good as it was during the golden years. Some people hold it to too high of an standard.
